Robyn - MORE cake? Stop with all the cake!!:rotfl2: I hope the cake was yummy! It looks yummy!

Tammi, Stephanie, Jen, Jennifer - Those are some pretty impressive tickers you girls have! I wish I was going to Disney SOON! Over 100 days is NOT soon!

So I am home from my job interview and it went REALLY well.:) Mr. Roly-Poly Baby is very nice. His mom and dad are wonderful, but they are quite new to all of this. The contract and setting up the payroll and taxes appears to be a bit daunting to Dadboss2B. But we shall see how things progress from here. Right now I am scheduled to do a "test drive" in morning traffic next Monday (a week from tomorrow) so I can time the drive and meet the baby's current nanny. That way she can tell me about his schedule and how she has his week structured, and I can determine how much of a time commitment that commute is going to be! The parents are also going to talk with the current nanny and get a solid timeline on when she would like to finish the position. I told them if they would like to look at more candidates over the next couple of weeks that I encourage them to do so. It sounds like a great job, and it sounds like precisely what I am looking for! I just hope we can make a decision fast enough that my current bosses will have plenty of time to find a replacement. That job would likely start 6 weeks from now, and I want them to have at least 4 weeks to look at candidates.

Congrats on a great interview! It sounds like the perfect opportunity for you. I hope that things work out!!

I thought I'd post some pictures of Jacob at our last lunch with Ariel.

He was quite "in love" with Ariel, until she tried to kiss him. You can see he has his hand over his mouth. However, she did kiss him on the cheek, and he proudly diplayed that mark all day long!

We went at a really slow time of day, and there were no other kids in the restaurant. Ariel spent about 15 minutes with Jacob on her lap, just talking to him. He was in heaven! We tease him about his "girlfriend", and now he gets angry, but I think he really likes remembering it!

Good morning everyone! I hope this day finds you all well!

I just got off the phone with my dad. It was great to talk to him He's just as Disney Obsessed as I am. I think we're the only 2 in the family that would live there, so whenever he wants to talk Disney, he calls me! Anyway, he's been trying for the last week to get a reservation for 24 people for lunch at Ariel's Grotto when we are in DL in June. He kept getting told that there were no reservations available at that time. He was so bummed, as he loves to take the grandkids (especially the granddaughters) there. He called again yesterday and was able to get a reservation for 12, and decided that was better than nothing, at least he'd be able to take the granddaughters.

Later that morning, he was on a conference call with one of his board of directors when it hit him....the man he was on conference call with is a VP of Entertainment at DL (he's the one who does all the shows and parades). Dad mentioned the problem to Chris, and Chris put him on hold for a minute. When he came back, he told Dad that he'd talked to the VP in charge of Food and they'd made all the arrangements necessary for our whole group to eat at the Grotto. Dad is so thrilled!!! I told him that's a wonderful contact to have, and couldn't he parley that contact into lifetime passes for all Disney parks??? Dad laughed and said he'd see what he could do. So, that's my good Disney news! We get to have lunch with the Princesses!!!!!
How exciting for all of you! Can I borrow your dad's contact if we ever decide to venture west to DL?

CUTE!

BTW, I have pillow cases that are made out of the same material as his shorts, the ones Paula made!

Here is some info on the closing of Alfredo's:

The L'Originale Alfred di Roma Ristorante is scheduled to close on August 31, 2007.

Starting September 1, 2007, this location will become part of the Patina Restaurant Group. Noted for their "Naples" restaurant in Disneyland, the Epcot venue will feature the cuisine of Master Chef Joachim Splichal.

A flagship restaurant is expected to open at this location in the Fall of 2008. It is rumored that it will continue operation during this transition, but booking is not yet available. It will participate in the Magic Your Way Dining plan.

Alfredo's does offer the Disney Dining Experience 20% discount - Holidays excluded. It is not yet known if the Patina restaurant will participate in DDE

Our weather is already starting to change. They told us it would be partly sunny and almost 60. It's cloudy and not even 50. :sad2:

Those are wonderful photos, Glynis!

Glynis (or anyone else, for that matter!) - are DL park hoppers like those from WDW? Do you do a biometric scan when you enter the park? Can someone else use the pass if it is used by another person first? Trying to figure out how many days we need on our hoppers... Thanks!

Tammi - out of curiosity... what does a truckload of mulch cost??
I got it for $22/cubic yard over at Norfleet, Rt. 3/Lafayette. I could get 2 yds in the truck at a time, and it took 3 loads to do what we were doing.

I think that is very reasonable! A LOT less than the cost of mulch by the bag... thanks! :goodvibes
