Just got home from the school book fair for Daniel..$38 later! Sophie has hers this afternoon & Katie's is at the end of the week. I'm broke!

I think the kids just have to grow out of it on their own. Sophie was very scared of the characters when she was 2. At every meal she would put her fork up in the air & wave it at the characters like "stay away from me!" we never forced her. I would always take the picture with katie & Daniel (who loved them) & snapped sophie in mid -fork-wave. It took 2 trips but on her 3rd trip when she was 4 she just started going up with her brother & sister & enjoying the characters. Good luck!!!!!!!

This was her when she was 2.

To this day none of my kids will go near Chuck E Cheese.

What a smarty to have found a weapon! And can you blame them for not wanting to go near Mr. Cheese???

I have some yellow Granny Smith apples that I need to use up before they go to waste. Anyone have a easy recipe for something to do with these, besides applesauce? I am making porkchops for supper, was trying to think of some way to cook these with the apples

What about apple crisp for dessert?

I was gonna suggest apple crisp too...but I kinda just make my own recipe by coring the apples, filling with raisins, quick cook oatmeal, cinnamon, sugar and butter, pour over some water or apple juice and bake in an 350 degree oven until soft...

I have to tell you all about something that has me very excited! When we planned to go to Boston this past summer for a mini family reunion with my brother and sister and their families I reminded them that they had told me at my mother's funeral that if we all made it in June they would allow me to plan a vacation for all of us at WDW.

Well, my sister emailed me this morning asking for money amounts and a little more info. I copied my brother on my response and just got an email from him asking me to firm up a few things for him. It looks like it might actually happen! I would LOVE to be able to show them why we have been going there more than once a year for the past 12 years!
Lots of pixie dust that thing gets completely off the ground and can fly.

Maybe a recipe would help!

APPLE CRISP

6 medium apples
3-4 tbsp. sugar
cinnamon



Topping:

1/4 c. butter
3/4 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. flour
1/2 c. oatmeal

Peel, core and quarter apples. Place apples in a greased casserole dish. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.
Mix all topping ingredients together until crumbly. If mixture is too dry , add more butter. Sprinkle over apples, until all apples are covered. Make more topping if needed.

Bake at 375°F for 40 minutes. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream. Enjoy!

Thanks, Anne Marie! I am at the thought! In fact, my DSIL just emailed me saying she also preferred a deluxe resort and she and my DB had not spoken about the trip yet!

I ended up making caramel apples the last time I didn't want to make applesauce with some apples we had.

Core and seed apples.....put in a pan with some brown sugar, butter and a pinch of cinammon....cook until the firmness or softness you want.

Sorry I can't give you exact measurements...hardly ever do I cook that way!!

I know I said I did not know where my wedding pics were at but I just saw this one and thought I would share.

This is the picture that ran for the newspaper announcement and it is in black and white. I did not have a typical wedding gown. My gown was pink and white and I wore a hat and not a veil. We got married in his aunts beautiful flower garden. Boy does this bring back memories.

Just got back from the dr. and the drug store. Nicholas has strep. I sure hope it stays away from the rest of us. So he will be home tomorrow too.

Boy are my kids clueless! While at the doc I felt I had to say something to make sure all bases were covered. I told the doc that I was concerned about his congestion because we are flying soon. If they asked I was prepared to say that I was refering to when we go for Alyssa's bday. Then when we were at the drug store I was asking the pharmacist for a recommendation of a good decongestant because we were flying soon. Again, no response out of either kid. I'm glad that the secret wasn't given up, but know I'm wondering if they have all their marbles???
