The DDA Trouble Free Zone Part 20

Thanks for the advice, Tammi. This might be the route we will have to go. Although it's a weird scenario, as I could see these meals becoming a bit of a "pi**ing" match between both BIL's families. It might be like we're all taking sides - particularly as Jonathan and I don't see them a whole lot (living 4 hours apart from everyone), we're somewhat "fought over" between the two families - not to mention our parents! - when we're in town/together.

Maybe she will have a miraculous turnabout before December!
I'll keep my fingers crossed for that.

Oh, and another thing, no matter how much you show them movies, books, planning videos with the characters and such, when they come face to face with them and see how BIG they are (to a 3 yr old they are HUGE), they will still get freaked out!

That's a good question - I have no idea if she's been to Chuck E. Cheese. I know she wigged out when she saw some sort of character cow at the Houston Rodeo last year, though, plus the aformentioned run-ins with the Mice themselves.

At first, my SIL did say DN5 wanted no part of ANY character meals. I clarified - even the princess meals?, as she is just wild about them - and SIL said that eating with the princesses would probably be okay. That might be a way to ease her into it. I also plan on making all the kids autograph books and maybe if everyone else but her is getting the characters to fill up their books, peer pressure will set in (particularly since she's the oldest).
What about Santa, Lindsay? Is she afraid of him too? This was the first year I got Alyssa to go see Santa, other than when she was an infant.

Tammi-how is nicholas feeling this morning
I don't know. He's still sleeping. We have a 2 hr delay so I'll wait and see if I think he should go to school. I'll prob keep him home just to be on the safe side. He did sleep through the night.

Good morning, everyone!

I slept with that stupid bite guard in my mouth. How uncomfortable! I don't know how long that's gonna last. Plus I took 800 mg of motrin before bed.

Have a wonderful day Jen!

So im sure ill be here, just not sure what tmie they will get here..have a great day and ill see you later!!!

Well, Nicholas just got up, no fever now, but is blowing thick yellow stuff out of his nose. Does that mean infection? Time for antibiotic? Plus he's complaining of a sore throat. I tried to look in his mouth, didn't see any white junk which indicates strep.

Tammi -- it sounds like he might be headed towards a sinus infection, if he doesn't already have one. I would take him to the doctor since you are about to go out of town just to make sure there isn't anything they can do for him. It will put your mind at rest. I hope he feels better ASAP.

Do you have access to a video called "Disney Sing-along Songs Disneyland"? It shows the characters interacting with kids and it's really cute, with songs kids know, and it helps make things more friendly. Just a thought.

I think this is a GREAT idea! ::yes::

I would try to get antibiotics if you can.

Tammi - I hope that the gunk indicates just a cold, but I would head to the doctor just to be sure.

Good morning, DDA! I slept in today again! I cannot believe that I looked at the clock when the dog jumped into the bed and it was 6:45. What a weird feeling to have "lost" an hour and a half on a weekday. See you all later. Have great days! :goodvibes

Thanks. That's what I was thinking. I guess a trip to the clinic is in order today. I flew once with sinus congestion and I thought my face was going to explode. Seems I remember going through this with Alyssa just before leaving in October. Only hers was an ear infection. Don't my kids know not to get sick right before vacation!

Good morning everyone! Well Borders ruined my chance of a nap this morning. Phil was running about 5 minutes late to work this morning. However, when we pulled up, 3 other people were still waiting at the door. Apparently, their manager and the only one with a key is out this morning. Phil and Loki both tried calling several times. I don't know what finally ended up happening, but some woman finally came out of the main part of the mall and let them in. :confused3 Of course, that whole time, my DH is standing there in a button down shirt and a pull over sweatshirt...and it is 28 degrees out. Guess maybe he'll start actually wearing his coat outside. At least I was sitting in the warmth of the car waiting to make sure they could eventually get in.

Guess today is the day that I start getting myself up and moving earlier than 9am or so. I've been intending to for a week now, but man that extra sleep feels good! Now to just get Terra adjusted to a little earlier bedtime to help it along.

So, any big plans for today?!?

So that's where I found my extra hour and a half. Sorry, if you really needed in Elin. ;)

I am trying to envision you wearing this :rotfl:

Just joking...I could never wear it either. You have to try to retrain yourself when you're stressed...

Glynis We received flat stanley the other day. I have scanned him into the computer, dress him and then cloned him as each of the boys wanted to take him to school. Nick and Hunter both armed with cameras took him to school this morning and Colby will take him when he goes later this morning. I'm sure we'll have lots of pictures to share :rotfl:

I'm hoping the audience challenge poll is up soon. I want to know who made it. I guess I should get a shower in while all is quiet. Colby and Logan a quietly playing a video game which is very unusual. I need to do a quick pick up before we leave. Hopefully I can pick up groceries while the boys are at school. I have Weight Watcher's tonight :scared1:
