When my Dad called me, I could hear his wife (who is probably the only person in this world who is a more advid fan!!) screaming in the background!!!

Course I've yelled so much I'm hoarse....

Hello DDA'ers,

We are back from our week at Disney and had a great time. I finally got to have a Dole Whip and Beer Cheddar Soup.

I loved the Dole Whip!!!.....I had mine in a cone and my Aunt liked it so much she went back and had one in a pineapple float. I couldn't find them until our 2nd day there in Adventureland.

That is the short version.........only version..........for my trip report. We have already strated talking about Jan 2010 for our next "big" trip. I am pretty sure that David and I with the boys will do our own small trip before then.

Oh and by the way.......on Jan the 1st we were at MGM. It was my mom's
60th birthday and we all had matching shirts on.......there was 20 of us on that day. I went to guest relations to get her birthday pin and asked about my mom and stepdad being in the parade and they said YES!!!! It was the most magical thing that could have happened to us. They were in the 1st car in the parade and got to stand in a VIP spot and watch the rest of the parade and all the characters came up to her and gave her a hug. Of course when the other 18 of us saw them coming we all started waving and screaming. It is something I will never forget.

I would like some calm before the storm please!!

Jim said the potholes on the way home from church were ridiculous!!

I didn't go to church today...spent most of the day sleeping...have never had a migraine last this long...I can't be sick the next couple of days....dumb annual report!!!:headache:

Be careful Theresa!:goodvibes

Hi Everyone!
Hi Janet!!!!!:yay: :yay: :yay: :cloud9:

Hello DDA'ers,

We are back from our week at Disney and had a great time. I finally got to have a Dole Whip and Beer Cheddar Soup.

I loved the Dole Whip!!!.....I had mine in a cone and my Aunt liked it so much she went back and had one in a pineapple float. I couldn't find them until our 2nd day there in Adventureland.

The weather was great. Out of our 6 days we only had rain on 3 of them. At Epcot and MGM the rain started around 6pm but only lasted a couple of hours. We dodged it with our rain ponchos and still went in and out of the attractions. Our 1st day at MK on Tuesday it started raining around noon.....we had ADR's at Tony's and the Castle so we got fast passes for Buzz Lightyear before our ADR's and went our separate ways for our lunch and then met back and did Buzz. We left the park then.....around 4pm and went home to rest a bit and put on some dry clothes. We knew it would be cooler in the evening. We headed back around 8pm and was able to do the Haunted Mansion and the Speedway before the 10pm Wishes and the 11pm Spectromagic Parade. GUESS WHAT?? I was on main street at 12:15am and it was so beautiful and so quiet!!! That is what I wanted to do more than anything.

For 4 days we had 18 people with us......one day 21 people and one day 20 people. We had a few family members that live down there that only came for one day. My cousin Cammie helped me with the FP's. I would get everyone in line for an attraction and we would take off to get FP's for a larger attraction. I think our longest wait time for any attraction my have only been 20-30 minutes. That was at attractions that didn't have FP's.

Most of the time I would put them in line for a thrill ride and keep the 4 smaller kids with me and I would go get FP's for another ride. We had 2 - 3yr olds and 2 - 5yr olds that couldn't ride all the rides.

My Vertigo was o.k.......still bothered me at times so I didn't tempt fate and go overboard. The only roller coastser I did was the Mountain Railroad at MK. I really wanted to do RRC and SM but I was worried about it being in the dark. I did so Soarin'.......I was a bit worried but it was GREAT!!! I loved it!!!

All in all it was a great trip. It was difficult at times with 18 people. 5 of them are smokers so I really had a hard time with finding smoking areas for them. They were easy to find on the map I just didn't want to stop for them. That was the biggest compromise I guess I had to make. I hated sitting there waiting 10 minutes for them to smoke when we could be heading to the next attraction.

I did get to talk to Glynis and Jen. I had two sleeping little ones in a stroller waiting for everyone else to get off SM. Glynis was in the waiting line at Carosel of Progress. I told her when everyone got off I would come over to wait for her. Well when everyone got off we realized we left our red/black backpack in Adventureland. We took off over there and found it right where we left it. By then an hour had passed and Glynis had already left for WCC to have dinner with Kate and everyone. I talked to Jen but they had already left to get their marathon passes. They were at MK but heard that the wait time for the passes was short so they left quickly to get over there.

That is the short version.........only version..........for my trip report. We have already strated talking about Jan 2010 for our next "big" trip. I am pretty sure that David and I with the boys will do our own small trip before then.

Thanks so much for sharing, Lynn. I'm glad you had such a good time, and that all your planning was worth it! Reading about the parade gave me goosebumps - how magical for your mom, stepdad, and for you - that had to be the greatest feeling ever, securing that for your mom.

You will have to give me some tips for traveling in big groups! We are traveling as a group of 16 in early December, and I'm excited and nervous, all at the same time!

So what is your favorite flower?

Mine is the gardenia - I've always loved them!

Welcome back! Sounds like a WONDERFUL trip! How did you like travelling with the large group. I had pretty much given up on our Grand Gathering ever happening. Then on our trip I so enjoyed watching the big groups that I saw that I really want to make this happen, no matter what I have to do.

Tia - I thought you were going as a big group in May - did that fall through?

Two questions....

Do you think I'll be able to wear shorts in wdw at the end of January?

and

When can I expect to see them in the stores? I'm going to need some new ones.

Tammi - Jonathan and I went the last weekend of January last year. It was warm enough during the day that we could have worn shorts (didn't pack any, so we were wearing t-shirts and jeans). But, it did get cool at night, so we were always putting on our sweatshirts/fleeces over our jeans and tees.

I think January weather is a lot like December weather - you just never know what you're going to get!

It seems like around here we'll begin seeing shorts by the end of the month (if not before). But, we're a lot warmer than you guys year-round, so I don't know if that's a regional thing.

So, the good news - I have a new ticker! :cheer2:

The bad news - it's not for when everyone will be there in a couple of weeks. :guilty:

We are compromising and going 3/2-3/5 for our next quick trip, instead of that last weekend in Jan. This way, we'll have plenty of time to get some things accomplished around our house, and I'm sure we'll REALLY need our Disney fix by then.

I can't decide where to stay though - it's likely between the WL and CBR, both of which we have done before. I would have liked to try the CR, but there are no rooms available for the whole time. Plus, these peak season prices are :scared: , even with an AP discount! I've got a WL Woods view booked right now, but might switch it to a CBR King. Our first and only trip to the WL was kind of a bummer (we got food poisoning!), so I thought it would be nice to give it another try, stay in a renovated room, etc. The one thing I don't like about WL is that most of the king bed rooms double as the barrier-free rooms, and the shower in those kind of gross me out (they always just look dirty, since they're all tile). We really loved our first stay at CBR - we were on-site newbies, and just had such fun there. I do like the added amenities of a deluxe resort, though. Decisions, decisions...

Anyone got any thoughts?

Woo-hoo!!!!
All hail me, for I am finally done with my MDT test!!:cool1: :woohoo:

Woo Hoo.:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

oo speaking of tests, we found something out yesterday that i forgot to post..
My brother got his state wide EMT test scores back (his graduation was just for passing the class , not the test)...They say that 60% of people that take this test do not pass it the first time......but, my brother called me yesterday and

MY BROTHER IS OFFICIALLY AN EMT!!!!!

Woo Hoo. :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

She got it done at a local video place.

I would definitely recommend to anyone that is interested to do it. It was the one thing that I asked her for Christmas. I can't tell you how wonderful it was seeing both sets of grandparents, my parents, cousins, aunts & uncles, etc. on tape. My grandparents & father have all passed away. There is actual footage of me dancing with my grandfather. He passed away when I was 16.

That must be so special Vicki...:goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

Goodnight. I'm off to bed. I have to be up early to pack for my trip to Lansing. I have about 6 hours of things to do before I leave and I have to leave by 9am. Needless to say, they won't all get done. To top that off, it has been snowing here tonight so I'm hoping that the roads aren't bad tomorrow.

I'm meeting friends for dinner tomorrow when I get to Lansing. I probably won't be on here until late tomorrow night.

Drive safe!!!:goodvibes

Well, I'm finally going to sleep. I'm tired and the work week starts in 7 hours. Nite all!!:surfweb: :surfweb: :surfweb:

I loved going with a large group. Although when it is just David and I with the boys we get more accomplished. But with the 6 day tickets we really had plenty of time to do everything. We didn't even have any problems at the restaurants. We ate at 50's Prime Time @ MGM, Tony's @ MK, Le Cellier @ Epcot and O'Hana's at the Polynesian. They were all very accomodating for a large group. They didn't mind doing separate checks since they stuck us all with the normal 18% gratuity for large parties. I usually pay 20% for excellent service so they really shorted themselves.

Has anyone seen the footage of when Tiggers attack? On the Today show they just showed Tigger hitting what appears to be an obnoxuios teen.Provoked? Can you really be provoked enough to justify hitting a kid? Makes you wonder about who is under the mask. Cast member has been suspended and there is a law suit.:confused3
