Reason number 768 that Kate is Queen...She emails DDAers with Ding fares! Thanks to an email from Kate this afternoon that there was a $125 (yes roundtrip!) fare from Providence, Terra and I are headed to WDW this weekend. It was a struggle to make the hotels work, but we worked it out. We are headed out Saturday morning and will be back late on Monday. It will be quick, but SOOO worth it for everyone I think (Phil had another terrible morning so he is ecstatic at the idea of some quiet).

I'm not sure what we're going to do yet, but I'm not too worried. I think we'll just hit our favorites, get some autographs and catch a few parades and fireworks. I'm SO excited!!! :mickeyjum :goofy: :donald:

I suggest you do book it if it goes back down. The airport closest to us dropped down to 244.00 a person and I jumped on it but my neice felt sure she would get it cheaper out of another airport two hours away. Well to cut the story short the fare at the closer airport went up to 350 or so and she had to pay 260.00 for the fare two hours away. Now she is kicking herself in the rear. Sorry you are having all the trouble with your DHs family. When I decided I was going and invited my neice and her little girl I just told her when and where. She has let me plan everything as she is a single mom working full time.

I hope everything will workout so there are no hard feelings. I know it is hard to please everyone and even harder to have family members hold a grudge about something like this. GOOD LUCK

Thanks! DH finally agreed that the next time I see the cheap air to book it and call everyone to let them know we did it and then leave the rest to them....

My son's teacher told me that they had to write a sentence for the 100th day of school and it had to be what they would like a 100 of, most kids wrote jolly ranchers etc, my son wrote 100 hummers!! She said all the kids were so excited and loved it!!!

:rotfl2: If Kyle could write- he would have done the same!!!!!!!!

Cinderumbrella :sad2: Losing excitement for a Disney trip is very serious. I'm so sorry that DH is having such a hard time. Try to just ignore the inlaws and plan your family a magical trip. :tink: When is your anniversary in 07? Ours is Dec. 6 although we probably won't be there until a week after. My parents and oldest sister and her family are tagging along. When problems arise I tell DH just remember once you get there the magic will help make it all worth the hassle. :cloud9:
:wizard: for everyone who is sick or blue or having vacation troubles. :wizard:

Anniversary is August 16 but we were probably going to go the last week of September into the first week of October so we could hit a MNNSHP ... or at least that was the idea. I just hope after all this trip drama fades he'll be back on board.
He'd rather get LASIK next year than go to WDW.... I can't argue since I had it done for my 30th bday a couple of years ago and am so glad I did! (But in retrospect, he only paid for my LASIK since he got a pool table for his 30th bday so I am not so sure that him getting LASIK for our 10th anniversary benefits us both... :rolleyes2 )

We had family lunch day today! We went to DH's office and then out to lunch. It was very nice - DH used to work an hour from our house and he was never aound - now he works ten minutes away - he came home everyday for lunch this week and drove Julia to school - it really is true how they say when a Daddy loves and spoils their daughters how it gives them confidence and makes them happy! Her behavior has been less than stellar lately (thus the new behavior chart) and since he started spending that extra time with her - she has been so good!!! Once we added in the behavior chart - she has been a PERFECT angel - she got all but one star last night - two more than she needed for her big star - today she told me she wants to earn all of them!!!!! :cheer2:
So what does Julia have her eye on at the Disney store??

Believe it or not, this is good news. Why you say? Because you DH has backed you up with the dates. Those are the dates. He has put his foot down! Drawn a line in the sand. Planted the flag. (oh I could go on and on :lmao: )

If they can come those dates, good. If not, see you later. :woohoo:

Disney is at its best during December. It will be wonderful that time of year. Just wonderful. Soon you will be able to plan your MVMCP, your CP, your days and tshirts...   It will be wonderful. I wish I could go that week, but it is just the worst possible week for me to be off work. :bitelip: :bitelip:

So I'm stuck with the Pop Warner kids. :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

My biggest problem is deciding between OKW, SSR, BWV or VWL! :yay:

UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well- it sounds like he caved again :sad2:
He wants me to watch for the cheap airfare for 11/26-12/3 (the week before Pop Warner). MIL, FIL and SIL and her family would go 11/28 to 12/5. They would be there for Kailey's bday on 12/4 (we wouldn't- but that doesn't matter) AND we could be there for my bday on 11/28... :Pinkbounc (How did I never think about that????) MIL and FIL said they would take Kyle on the 28th so we could have a nice dinner and go to CP (which Kyle would NEVER sit through)
He has also set a deadline for us of 4/30 to book the trip. And if the airfare has not gone down below $220 pp by then we will just pay the going rate.
Sounds like a good deal for everyone... :woohoo:

Hi..

Just checking in. I haven't been on in some time. Bill's dad continues to be dying in the hospital. I have never in all of my life seen a worse situation. Every day this poor man has a new issue...today they have decided he now has a staph infection. This is on top of: pneumonia, heart attack, UTI, fever, e coli infection. I hate to sound awful, but most people wouldn't let their pet suffer like this.

I hope everyone is well. There is no way I can catch up..if there is anything new or pressing, could someone please PM me?

Thanks!

Kristine

:grouphug:
Prayers for your family...

To all that asked.
Yes it was quick.
40 days total.
From start to finish.
I just let him know.
I got what I need to use against you.
Don't make me use it.
He has a history in the courts.

I received sole custody.
He has supervised visitation every other weekend.
By anyone I approve of.
We can move 60 miles or more away without informing him.

Child support will be garnished from his check.
Direct deposit to my checking.

We are still working on getting the house ready to sale.
Inside is just about ready.
Lots to do outside.

Garage sale will be next weekend 2/18-19.

As to his behavior.
He is being so nice to us.
He is making us ill.
Last night he even told me GOOD NIGHT!

Don't know what his game is.
But he is in the 3rd bedroom to stay.

Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi everyone! :wave2: Checking in. We just got back from the doctors office and my oldest has pneumonia. Could you all just think good thoughts for her? I hate seeing her hurting. Thanks! :sunny:

I'm so excited! I was lurking around other areas of the Dis tonight (shocking, I know! ;) ) and I found out you can now buy all of your photopass pics on one cd for $99! This will be such a deal compared to the $200 plus we spent on 23 pictures in October!

Amy :)

I'm with you!!!!!!!!!!!! We will definitely use it a lot more on our next trip!!

WOW!! After all of that aggravation, it sounds like it is all falling into place. Except for the airfare that is. Congratulations on getting the family to agree on something. :teeth:

I think that I am becoming VERY happy we will be in Florida this weekend. Suddenly they are calling for somewhere between 6 and 15 inches of snow Saturday night and Sunday. Now we'll be warming up in the Floriday sun :sunny: instead of having to explain to Terra why we can't go see Curious George after all (We, by choice, don't have a car, but that makes it very hard when there is a foot of snow on the ground and I have either a stroller or a walking 2yo who wants to either step in every snow drift or be carried.)

I am driving myself insane. :crazy2: I have been listening to MouseWorld radio all day on my desktop and now I want to be there sooo badly!!! I can't wait to go back!:mickeyjum

Good morning to all!

So, what did you all do for your child(ren)'s 2nd birthday?

We had a pretty big party for Alyssa's first, but I'm wondering what route to take for her 2nd. Kevin and I are both children of divorce, so the guest count is 24 with just grandparents, uncles, aunts, and cousins! Many of the friends we've made through the years (college, work, community, etc.) have kids and of course, we've made new friends through swimming lessons, playdates, etc. so potentially that's 35-40 people (including parents and siblings). We use the fellowship hall at our church, so space isn't an issue (and I don't have to clean :teeth: ). Last year, we bought fried chicken and chicken strips from Kroger and I prepared several side dishes. My MIL baked the cake.

Is it ridiculous to have a big get-together like this, every year? Obviously, if I go this route, then I do it for baby #2 too.

I would love to hear your thoughts! Thanks in advance!
Amy :)

We are only about 20 but we have a party here at the house. When Kyle was 2 it was Thomas the Train- this year it will be Bob the Builder. I am a baking fanatic so I always make edible favors to take home. Last year it was mini train cakes and #2 cookies (think cookie bouquet at the mall). I posted pictures over on the Motivation thread but I don't know how to post a link from here...

ETA: We get a 6 foot sub from Subway with just the meat, cheese and lettuce on it and everything else on the side so people can doctor their pieces how they want. Last year was an ice cream cake from Baskin Robbins but it practically cost more than the sub!!! This year is a BobBuilder cake from the grocery store and ice cream cups for those who are so inclined! I am also serving chips and dip etc. in new blue paint pails to keep with the whole "building" theme. We are also getting Kyle a swing set for Daddy and Grandpa to "build" (Wow! Those rainbow systems an cost a bundle!!!)

Even for this year's 3rd bday we are still doing just family and family friends- no kid party yet. But next year once he's got a year of pre-school in him I am sure I will probably do 2 parties- 1 for family and 1 for friends.

Good luck and have fun!! I love planning parties almost as much as planning WDW trips!!! :cheer2: Let me know if you need me to brainstorm!!

:wizard: Hope dd is on the mend soon :grouphug:

:Pinkbounc Hooray for Julia!!!

We too are having behavior problems here. We are on week 4 of potty training. This week is actually going pretty well though. He always wants to check out his pull ups to see if the design has "disappeared" (i.e. their wet). When we suggest going to the potty he now goes in voluntarily when before he would pitch a mini fit. But he is really eating up this "big boy" thing. We got a booster seat for the kitchen (goodbye highchair!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!), ordered his big boy bed, and now the potty. :woohoo:

Very good Julia!!! :cheer2: Alex is my 8yr old and he tells me everyday that he has had a smiley face. He knows if he keeps it up he can pick out some Yu-Gi-Oh cards this weekend.

Maybe you can treat Julia and share with her your Zach pictures that Amy told us she found at your house. :rotfl2:

Lynn
Funny that you should say that = as a large envelope arrived for me in the mail today with the infamous red file in it -

mailed from Cincinnati - hmmm- wherever could that have come from? Julia does love it!!!
