Someone asked about Clarabelle being a cow. I beleive Clarabelle the cow was a disney character. She's on house of mouse sometimes.

You are right....but Clarabelle is also a common name for cows in cartoons and real life. That's what tickled me the most...obviously the parents were city slickers never on a ranch. :rotfl2:

Didn't Walt create a character named Clarabelle the Cow? I know that in DCA there's an ice cream parlor named Clarabelle's.

Yep! There's the info, and here's a picture :)

I am already planning on buying that when we go, with as many pictures as we take!!! I can see it now we will be chasing down every photpass person to take as many pictures as we can!!!!

Good Morning By the Way!!!! Julie
oh Julie - I think that you and I are going to get along very well!! :teeth:

On the subject of birthday parties:

That was one reason we loved it when we lived not so close to any relatives...nobody complained that we spent more time with one side or the other!!

When we moved close to family we had one party for family and one for friends(the girls share birthdays and up until a couple of years ago parties). Now one has the "big" birthday party and the other gets a smaller gathering of friends. Cassidy's big party was last year for her 13th and I am going to let Abi have the big one until Cassidy turns 16. Keep in mind our big parties don't cost that much but are lots of fun. We spent $20 for the kids to go down an Alpine slide after a free theater outing(that was an AWESOME coupon). The girls are allowed to invite as many kids to their party as the age they are turning...so this year I have the potential of 10 but it is cut off at that!!

I know lots of families that do the one year just family and one year friend party and it works out great for them. But most people don't start friend parties until they reach school age.

If you enjoy the big party then I say "Do it"!!

That's cool, but knowing us, we'll print every single image. That's why we're so behind on scrapbooking...we have approximately 900 pictures of each trip!!! :teeth:

Amy :)
I think the video montage is totally different - it is a movie and not included on the Photopass - all you get is jpeg files

They also have the Photomovie - which is what Tammi is thinking about:

The second new product is Disney's PhotoMovie, a DVD that combines your photos (PhotoPass photos and those taken with your own camera) with video scenes from the parks, as well as the characters interacting with the photos. The PhotoMovie DVD also includes a bonus slide show. Disney's PhotoMovie retails for $69.95, but is now available at the introductory price of $49.95; additional copies are just $19.95.

Yes, that is what I was thinking of. Sorry if I confused you.

I bought those after our trip for Christmas gifts... they are incredible! They are your photopass pictures, plus any you took with your own camera and uploaded, so that's one difference. They also include characters and video of the parks as backgrounds, transitions, etc. They were really cool. I used to make DVDs of our pictures, but even with the best movie software I couldn't do the things that are on PhotoMovie. :goodvibes

I've been looking forward to this all week, and now I'm stuck driving the swimming carpool both ways tonight, which means I won't get home until about 9:35. And both VCR's are already in use for dh and ds, I think.

At least I can catch the end of it! :thumbsup2

Good morning to all!

So, what did you all do for your child(ren)'s 2nd birthday?

We had a pretty big party for Alyssa's first, but I'm wondering what route to take for her 2nd. Kevin and I are both children of divorce, so the guest count is 24 with just grandparents, uncles, aunts, and cousins! Many of the friends we've made through the years (college, work, community, etc.) have kids and of course, we've made new friends through swimming lessons, playdates, etc. so potentially that's 35-40 people (including parents and siblings). We use the fellowship hall at our church, so space isn't an issue (and I don't have to clean :teeth: ). Last year, we bought fried chicken and chicken strips from Kroger and I prepared several side dishes. My MIL baked the cake.

Is it ridiculous to have a big get-together like this, every year? Obviously, if I go this route, then I do it for baby #2 too.

I would love to hear your thoughts! Thanks in advance!
Amy :)

Birthdays are big events in our lives. Chuck E Cheese is our friend. We like it because we don't have to clean up. We had my DGD's birthday party at Disney in 2004. She still wanted to come home and have another party at Chuck E Cheese. :rolleyes1

This year she got her American Girl, and clothes and even the American Girl suitcase. Then we took her to dinner. She was sad because she wanted..... Chuck E. Cheese. :rolleyes1

So guess what we are doing this year???? :cheer2: :cheer2:

My DGS's second birthday party was at Chuck E Cheese. His first was at the Clubroom at my condo...

Amy -- we also did the family birthday parties at our house or my parents until the kids were 5. They did invite a couple of friends over when they were 3 and 4, but it was mostly family. All they really cared about was cake and icecream and playing. At 5, we started having them someplace, because the boys were in school in Dallas, with schoolfriends all over the metroplex. I knew if we wanted a lot of them to attend, I had to make it more central. They are easier anyway, because there is no clean-up before or after. We've done Chuck E. Cheese, the Dallas Zoo, SciencePlace, skating, bowling, pump it up, swimming (in an indoor pool in December) etc. For girls, there are many fabulous choices in big D. I can't wait to go some of those places with my nieces!

I would go ahead and do the family thing a couple of more times, instead of having multiple individual visits from family/friends. Plus, that's probably easier when you are pregnant this year and with two young ones next year. Have all that family help you with the food!

We also do a small immediate family thing on their actual birthday with their favorite meal or restaurant.

It sure has been a quiet afternoon. No post since 12:30pm. I keep refreshing my screen and no one is here. I thought maybe I should post a note since someone else might be doing the same thing.

Anybody else out there right now.

That's so funny :rotfl2: I have clicked back and forth for about an hour and no one was here. It really slow at work and it is making the day go by even slower.

Well, I'm back from bowling this morning. It was fun, but I didn't bowl as well as I did last week. Oh well, gives me more reason to keep going. Gotta get better!

I'll be on and off all afternoon as we have parent/teacher conferences today. Then DS has karate, and DD has a church activity. What happened to my peaceful Fridays?

We had family lunch day today! We went to DH's office and then out to lunch. It was very nice - DH used to work an hour from our house and he was never aound - now he works ten minutes away - he came home everyday for lunch this week and drove Julia to school - it really is true how they say when a Daddy loves and spoils their daughters how it gives them confidence and makes them happy! Her behavior has been less than stellar lately (thus the new behavior chart) and since he started spending that extra time with her - she has been so good!!! Once we added in the behavior chart - she has been a PERFECT angel - she got all but one star last night - two more than she needed for her big star - today she told me she wants to earn all of them!!!!! :cheer2:

Fridays here at work are either very hectic or very quiet....don't like either one really would like just to be busy. My volunteer has left so I am the only one in the building watching it "snot" out the window. It's not snowing but it's not clear either so we call it "snot".

I need to go to the front part of the office to watch out that window so I can tell if somebody comes in.

Have a great day!!

What a great idea, I need to establish something like this for my daughter!!!! When she is good she is so much fun to be around  , but when she is bad ---whoa look out  !!!!! I just can't even imagine what she will be like as a teenager!!!!

It's funny I always wanted just one little girl SO bad, and now that I have one I will agree with anyone who says that boys are easier!!!! She was the easiest baby and then around 2 1/2 she became a terror over night, I keep waiting for her to outgrow it!!! Oh well I love her so much no matter what  !!!

Thought I would pop in & say HI. I worked late night on Tuesday night at the office so I got off early today & I thought I would DIS abit & now I am going to do some scrapbooking. I finally got my October Disney trip done last weekend & now I have to do our 1/2 marathon trip. I always used to have my trips scrapbooked a few weeks after returning home, but that was when I used to do 12hr shifts & had days off during the week. Working 8-5 Mon to Fri really hampers my creative time. :sad2:
Hope everyone is doing well & has a great weekend.

Very good Julia!!! :cheer2: Alex is my 8yr old and he tells me everyday that he has had a smiley face. He knows if he keeps it up he can pick out some Yu-Gi-Oh cards this weekend.

Maybe you can treat Julia and share with her your Zach pictures that Amy told us she found at your house. :rotfl2:
