Hi everyone! :wave2: Checking in. We just got back from the doctors office and my oldest has pneumonia. Could you all just think good thoughts for her? I hate seeing her hurting. Thanks! :sunny:

:wizard: Good luck- that one is no fun :guilty:

All these discipline stories and I have one!! My girls (I thought) have grown out of the hissy fits(except of course the"normal" teenage drama). Well this morning Abi threw a fit that she was not going to school in her tennis shoes or boots only her black dress shoes would do. :furious: This kid has never done such a thing and once her shoes were on and we were in the car she apologized. It is amazing to me what will set us (grown ups and kids alike) off.

OK, sorry for taking up nearly 2 pages with my posting party

Thanks again to everyone who listened to me blather on about our travel dilemma. Now hopefully the airfare will co-operate, but either way- at least the dates are settled and every one seems happy (Note to self- change my ticker to move up the counter 14 days! :Pinkbounc )

On another note, if anyone has some words of wisdom for me on the potty training please PM me. I am a newbie at this and will take all the help I can get!!

I had boys and always kept cheerios in the bathroom. I would toss a few in the toilet and told them to "shoot at them".......you get the picture right. What was really funny is when I would find their Dad in there with them and they would see how many they could all shoot together. It was pretty funny!!! :rotfl2:

In case I forget -- have a great time this weekend!! Its always good to get away for a weekend, and even better when its to WDW!! Have a wonderful time and have a Dole Whip for Skunka and I!!

I think that I am becoming VERY happy we will be in Florida this weekend. Suddenly they are calling for somewhere between 6 and 15 inches of snow Saturday night and Sunday. Now we'll be warming up in the Floriday sun :sunny: instead of having to explain to Terra why we can't go see Curious George after all (We, by choice, don't have a car, but that makes it very hard when there is a foot of snow on the ground and I have either a stroller or a walking 2yo who wants to either step in every snow drift or be carried.)

My potty training advice is to take DS shopping and let him pick out fun big boy pants with Scooby Doo or whatever his favorite character is. Then pick a span of 3 days when you have no intentions of leaving your house. Throw out the pull-ups. They are still diapers. Put his new undies on him (no pants) and set the timer for 10 minutes. Put him on the potty and see if he goes. Let him sit there awhile. If he doesn't go, reset timer. Repeat this until he produces, and gradually increase the time. If you have hardword or vinyl floors, try to keep him in those areas (less mess). And the most important part of all, remember that there WILL BE messes. Keep positive and no matter how much you want to, don't give up and go back to diapers/pull ups. This sends mixed signals. Perservere!! Good luck!

I'm glad things are falling into place -- life shouldn't be so hard! Especially planning vacations! But remember, this is your vacation - don't let the inlaws (or outlaws as they are sometimes known) run your vacation. We had a great time when we were there in October, but we did things differently than normal... all in an effort to make everyone ELSE happy. After it was all said and done, neither of us want to do that again. So go and have yourself a great time - and have a Dole Whip for Skunka and I!

Can you believe we just had one for the first time on our last trip? Yummy!!!

Matt potty trained in a week and I'm convinced it happened for a couple of reasons:

1) I was home with him the entire week
2) We didn't use pull ups during the day - only at bedtime
3) He wanted to do it

I'm sure any combination of the above will work - but I agree with Tammi. Don't send a mixed message. I expected him to go to the bathroom, and he did. Don't get me wrong - there were some set backs, he was only 2! But for the most part, once we were done with diapers, we were done with diapers. I do however remember something my pediatrician told me - at 2 their bladders are fairly small and not to expect him to be dry overnight. That's why we used pull ups at night. Hope you find something that works for you.

ETA: And have a Dole Whip for Skunka and I :teeth:

I have a friend of mine that ends all her emails with "Love You more than my Kendall Jackson"......and she loves her wine so that's alot. I usually end my emails to her "Love you more than my RED luggage". I am a big DAWGS fan so of course for Christmas two years ago I wanted RED luggage. If I love you more than my red luggage then you know that is alot.

Love Ya more than my Red Luggage......Lynn

Ok, maybe I should clarify...we did use pull-ups at night too. Funny thing is though, that once they got the daytime stuff down, they would be dry all night. After a week or so of waking up dry, we went to panties full time.

My favorite letter ender is.....

I wish you enough.

I don't know why, I just think it is very poignant.

He is 32 months right now. I am starting now because pre-school is in the fall and they must be potty-trained. We are doing well with the "#1" but full refusal of "#2"... (Sorry guys, but I really need help on this one  )

Thanks everyone! I had to go throw her in the tub. In one ear her temp was 104.6 and the other read 105. Now at that high, I don't know the accuracy, but didn't want to chance it. Got it to come down anyway. Phew!

Kristin -

airfare from Chicago to Orlando on Northwest for your dates is $179 RT - bringing the total to $219
