I have to ask... who is Dora the Explorer and who is Dino? I'm presuming that's not Dino of The Flintstones variety. :rotfl2:

Our esteemed Governor dressed as Dora the Explorer this year for Halloween. It was a really big story in ALL the newspapers around here. Like I give a crap who she was dressing as? :confused3

This isn't even our paper!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :rolleyes1

Dino is Dino Rossi who was running against Dora the Explorer this time around, he lost. He ran against her 4 years ago and was cheated out of the Governorship. He won twice, then in some miracle recount, Dora won. Some of us were really looking for "Hope" and "Change" this time around in the Governor's mansion... :rotfl2:

You (and everyone here) might want to bookmark this site: http://blog.bobbyjindal.com/ Jindal posts a blog about once a week where he talks about what he did during the week, issues they're pursuing, legislation they're passing, meetings, etc. As Reagan said "Trust, but verify." But I think that blog site could help us all learn a lot about him in the months and years to come.
I'll take a look at it. :thumbsup2

Dino Rossi. Ran in 2004 and won election plus two recounts. On the third recount I think what...about 100 new ballots, Michelle?...were "found" in seattle for gag-wire and Rossi conceded.
Dora the Explorer is an annoying little cartoon.

Well, Dora is an annoying cartoon, but since there was such big media play on her costume this year, henceforth, she shall now be referred to as Governor Dora the Explorer. :rotfl2:

From the 2004 election:

...Rossi won the Election Day count by 261 votes and a subsequent machine recount by 42. Democrats paid for a hand recount, which put Gregoire up 10 votes; that lead widened to 130 after a state Supreme Court decision allowed 732 ballots to be reconsidered in King County, a Democratic stronghold. Those ballots had been mistakenly thrown out because of problems scanning signatures into a computer.

In light of the high court's decision, Republicans want the secretary of state to delay certifying the election so they can seek reconsideration of rejected ballots in other counties.

On Thursday morning, Republicans submitted affidavits to King County elections officials from 96 people who voted for Rossi and believe their ballots were erroneously rejected because of signature problems. They say they have identified about 250 such voters statewide.

Why oh why did I have to flip through the channels? I ended up with a roast of Rahm Emanuel on C-SPAN. They're trying to make fun of Rahm's way left ideals, but really... It's not working. It's only serving to scare me more!:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Continuing to flip... maybe I'll find something better, like Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew! :rotfl2:

Disclaimer: I only watch Celebrity Rehab because Dr. Drew is a hottie! Oh, the dirty thoughts running through my mind....:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

:scared: And I honestly do not mean this in a rude way, but after looking at that picture, I had to come back to your post to figure out if your Governor was a man or a woman. The "finding of votes" never ceases to surprise me, though.

Here in Virginia, we have Governor Eyebrows! AKA Democrat Tim Kaine. http://blog.indecision2008.com/2008/08/18/governor-tim-kaines-freakish-eyebrow-will-take-down-the-democratic-party/

My main baseball team was the Richmond Braves, and unfortunately he was there when they won the IL Championship in 2007 and wormed his way into the field celebration with the trophy. And even more unfortunately, the team decided to put his ugly mug on everything for the 2008 season. On the programs, the media guide, the schedules, everything. He was sitting a few seats away from me this July 4th, and frankly he's actually scarier looking up close than he is in pictures and on TV.

Now I need to go to bed. Thanks for the Poly advice, disneyholic family.
Night night all, ttyl.

Thanks for the Jindal blog link. Consider it bookmarked. Whoever our potential POTUS might be, that person needs to have a web presence early on - good viral potential. Wonder if SP has one as Gov?

I'm glad you asked the question about Dino and Dora - and am really sorry that Dora's back in WA....:sad2:

Not to worry, sometimes we wonder the same thing. :rotfl2: She's been nicknamed "Skeletor" too.

:scared: Never thought about the Milton Berle thing, but yeah, now I see it. :scared:

Tim Kaine, Gov. Eyebrow. I can see why. :rotfl2: That eyebrow and the man looks like he cut his hair with a weedwhacker.

And I thought I'd had some BAD haircuts, but that one, takes the cake. What is up with the giant chunk out of his hair on the right side? Sigh. Some men don't have a clue...:lmao:

Speaking of governors...

Did any of you notice who was standing behind Barack Obama at the press conference? None other than No Jobs Jenny. Jennifer Granholm, Michigan's governor. The one who completely bankrupted our state. He put her on his economic transition team!!! :scared1:

We are really in for it.

Anybody also notice that the new OS thread is countdown to inaguration, something else and FLOWERS. :flower3: Hmm, we must be so cool they want to copy us 'cause we had that first! :rotfl2:  :rotfl: :rotfl2:  :rotfl:

Didn't you know that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery? I've always thought that we were like the cool kids who everyone wants to hang around, because they can't seem to leave us alone. Honestly, I can't remember the last time I looked at their thread, and I have no desire to. Why they constantly read ours though, and then go back and report on us, is beyond me. Maybe they need us to give them ideas? You know, how Obama is basically an empty person whose head is filled by his leftist puppet masters, it's the same thing here. Just wondering. To all the lurking OS and all the lurkers in general with whom I seem to be so popular, here have a flower and bless you.:flower3:

I saw that WTH is he thinking? I so wanted to hope that maybe, just mabye I was wrong about him .....but just as I suspected he is an idiot.

I have not been around for the last few days. I was just wondering....did we ever hear anything more about BO's grandmother's death? I mean if he went to a funeral it would be all over the news right? If it has not been, I just wonder how it is possible that she died this "typical white person" who was practically his MOTHER and then .....nothing. NO reports of a service, burial ....is this going to be like 'Weekend at Bernie's"? OR more like PYSCHO? OR did she die long before the bs statement made on the day before the election? See this bothers me quite a bit and I do not understand why it has been just dropped by the press. If she did die two or three weeks ago, it speaks to the lenghts the press and BO will go to insure an election.

uh...is it Soarin08?

Not entirely sure.

Bobby Jindal is the gov of Louisiana, and turned around the mess of Katrina that the prev. governor made...well, her and Ray Nagin. Now Obama is toying with the idea of giving that (*#$@_#& mayor of New Orleans the job of spearheading FEMA! Seriously, my 5 yr old could manage FEMA better than that man.

Let's hand over millions and millions of dollars in relief funds to a man who was directly responsible for so many people being stuck in New Orleans during Katrina, causing so many to loose their lives, a man who let chaos reign in the aftermath of the storm, to the point where hundreds and hundreds of police and national guardsmen were required to impose martial law to keep the peace. Yep-he's great at managing things:scared1:

Wow, where did you find this information? I always felt it was so wrong that Bush got blamed for this. He told the governor that he was there to help but she never asked. Don't even get me started on the mayor of New Orleans. That guy was the biggest idiot. Lets see, a cat 4 or 5 is headed right towards you, and you make everyone go inside the Super Dome, where you know it floods? And by the way, I will hideout for 3 days while the people of your city suffer and starve. And to top it all of, the idiots vote for this man again. Can we say stupid.

I live in Florida, we are used to hurricanes. The local government is responsible before the storm. You know, evacuation routes, shelters, etc. Our governors stay in touch with with FEMA from the beginning. In 2004 we had 6 or 7 hurricanes hit land. No problems with our government.

I just wanted to drop in and thank all of you for inspiring me to spread the conservative word like wildfire for 2012! I've been lurking in here since the election and it's been comforting to know there are others who have kept a level head throughout all this mess and didn't fall for the "H" hype! Thank you all!

I also wanted to share something that scared the you know what out of me, it just goes to show the kool-aid stories must be true ;) http://obamamessiah.blogspot.com/
