*The audio clip you're hearing now is actually Mom and Dad Bird themselves as they make "warning-chirps" from afar. They make noises like this each time a "human" ventures near their nest-site. *

As I went out to water my daisies on the front porch this morning, Mom Bird fluttered off to the sapling in the front yard, while Dad Bird chose to stay closer to the nest -- in the fir tree beside the porch. (He likes to keep his eye on me, I guess! ;)) I've begun to take a camera along with me when I go out to the porch in case any great photo opportunities present themselves. As luck would have it, they were in abundant supply today!

Here are some pics of Dad Bird in the fir tree beside the porch:

I guess he became a bit "camera-shy" at this point! ;)

Where did he fly off to, you ask? To join Mom Bird in the sapling! I was thrilled beyond belief to have gotten these pics of them together! (Aren't they a cute couple? :))

Mom and Dad Bird must have grown weary of their perch because they flew off to another sapling in the yard... Perhaps it afforded them a better view of the nest. They look like "bookends" in this photo! ;)

And, of course, no birdie thread is complete without pictures of the babies! :) They're getting so big, it looks to me like they're starting to sleep on each other!

Aren't their wings beautiful? :)

I hope this thread helps you to experience the excitement I've been fortunate enough to witness firsthand! :)

Great photos, Kara. We had some robins nest in a spruce right next to our sun deck a couple of years ago and I set up my video cam to catch the hatching and eventually caught the babies robins leaving the nest. I was surprised to learn that they didn't fly, they fell  and then the mother led them away to another ground nest somewhere. It was really an interesting thing to watch.

I love these pictures Kara! And I truly love being able to hear them. Those babies are growing up so big and so beautiful.

Nativetxn - I sure hope these babies don't fall! I've been worrying about that actually, because there is nowhere for them to go but about 8 feet straight down to concrete!   I'm hoping Mom Bird knew what she was doing when she built her nest where she did!

Cool! How did you post the audio clips?? I've been wanting to figure out how to do that so I could share my singing on here!

I just can't get over how much the babies grow and change in just one day! They're going to be flying before you know it.

I really am enjoying these Kara! Thank you so much! The one little birdlings beak is starting to look like Daddy's beak!!!! Gosh, they are growing fast!!

Thanks Kara!! :) :)

Kara you know how much the girls and I are enjoying your birdie posts as they call them. The pictures are our dinner conversations often. Please keep posting them. We will miss them too when they fly off :(

Oh my gosh. So totally codl. I love the chirping and the pictures. I am a total bird person.

Thanks so much for sharing. :D

Just bumping this thread up for any other bird lovers out there! :)

This is so cool, Kara!

I loved hearing those birdies chirping away. Amazing what technology can do these days that you can put that here for all of us to enjoy.

The Mom and Dad are an adorable pair. I wonder if they will "stay togerther" after the little ones fly away. that will be a sad day.:( Kara, you got some wonderful pictures!!! Pretty soon you will be better at all this computer stuff than your wonderful DH!!

I guess Kara IS pretty cool, eh, MJ?? :) Smart lady there.

Thanks, Kara, for sharing so much with us, you have gone beyond nice. Thanks.

Kara, I have thoroughly enjoyed this thread! Thank you for taking all the time and trouble to share this!
