Has anyone ever rented a pool cabana? They look pretty cool. I was thinking of doing it for my birthday in May.

The contemporary website says they are $100 for 4 hours but I read a Contemporary review that said it was $190-they didn't rent it so maybe they didn't get the price right.

Hey Guys,

Quick Questions. What about parking. We are staying there for 4 nights/5 days. I noticed Valet Parking is 12 a day. Do you have to do that?? or is there free parking??

Thanks for your help!
nicole
My family and I always self park and there are three self parking locations. The 1st location is in front of the Tower where there is two rows of valet parking spots, however the next three are self parking spots. The next location is all the spaces in front of Bay Lake Tower and the final location is in front of the South Garden Wing.

Has anyone here done the Pirate and Pals fireworks cruise??? I was thinking about doing it in June but wanted to know what people thought of it first

I have and it was a blast and worth every penny. My 2 DD's loved every minute and they are not pirate fans.

There are pics in my TR

Hi all!

I'm going to be at the Contemporary for 6 nights after a Disney cruise in June.

2 questions:)

1- we are on the dining plan, I already made my ADR's, so we're set there. But how does room service work? I counted on paying out of pocket for breakfast each day (using our dining credits for lunch and dinner). I know room service takes 2 credits so that worries me. Is there a way to make sure that my room service isn't charged to my dining plan and it's just added to my bill?

2- How much is wi fi? I'll be there for a week, and don't want to pay an insane amount- but like to check my e-mail and stuff after my kiddos are in bed.

Thanks everyone!

Hi, my family and I are staying at the CR in February and have already booked a cabana (here's hoping the weather is nice). It is $100 f0r 4 hours and I think $190 if you want it for the day.

I will post pictures when we get back if you like.

1. When you call room service, or any other time you don't want to use the plan, just tell them that you are charging it to your room and you don't want to use the DP. When room service arrives, tell them again that you want it charged to your room, and then make sure to check the receipt.

2. Wired internet with cable provided (Yes, they are in the dark ages) in your room is $9.95/ per 24 hours.

Have a great vacation!

Even though we already got an e-mail confirmation for our bounceback reservation for this August, today when I checked the mail I saw an envelope from Disney Destinations and we got another confirmation. So I guess it's good to always have an extra copy just incase.

Is that the one that "Welcomes The XYZ Family back to the CR" with the photo of the CR?

Next month you can make your ADRs!

No it's not. It's just the same confirmation we got e-mailed, however the difference is the one sent by the mail is only in black and white. Plus there was an add for a Disney Vacation Club DVD and for a Disney Visa card, which is not available to Canadians. So not sure why that was included.

Welcome to the Contemporary family and it's great that you and your family have finally decided to stay there. So anytime you have questions about it just post them and eventually others on here will be happy to answer them.

Thank you!!! I know we will have many questions! We started looking at dates for a late 2010 or early 2011 CR stay (or maybe both!) When I started plugging dates in for fall 2010, I found that standard Garden rooms are often not available. Do CR standard rooms usually book up a lot faster than the other deluxes? Any advice regarding how far in advance we should call to book for January or February of 2011?

The only reasons I can think of is because of a convention or because the rooms you are asking about are the least expensive among the Monorail Resorts they got booked up very fast. However I am sure if you keep looking eventually they will become available.

OK, here's some Ca Grill meat and potatoes!

Oak-fired Filet of Beef - with Sour Cream Mashed Potatoes, Roasted Baby Zucchini, and Teriyaki Barbecue $44

Seriously, for meat and potatoes, nothing beats WCC!

I'm thinking that's exactly the meal my husband and I ordered :goodvibes

We'll have to give WCC a try.

Thanks! I won't give up (or we'll upgrade to a different type of room!)

I was reading on another thread about someone who asked about the CR campfire, and I was wondering the same thing myself. DD and I attended the one at the GF last April and it was one of the highlights of our trip! We roasted marshmallows, and instead of a singalong, they played some great music and had all the kids dancing on the beach, including the line dances like the YMCA etc. I was hoping the CR also had this. I remember reading something awhile back about the CR having a campfire and singalong, but no one mentions it. (and I'm not talking about the one over at Fort Wilderness with CHip and Dale). If you are going in the near future, could you check this out, and let me know what time the festivities begin? It was so much fun at the GF, I'm hoping to continue the tradition at the CR! :thumbsup2

Your lucky! I requested and e-mail confirmation 3 times and mail confirmation 2 times and I have not received any.

They have the correct e-mail address too. The only thing I received is a Welcome to the Contemporary for your June vacation packet and e-mail. No date and room specifics.
