Will be at the Contemporary in 2 days!! Wooo Hooo :santa:
WOOHOO right back at you!

Just make sure you warm it up there in chilly Lake Buena Vista before we get there!

Have a great time and don't forget to post a trip report when you can:santa:

It's a heat wave down there compared to up here!

I have plenty of layers packed and we are wearing our coats on the plane.

We had some flurries today here in NoVA. I better not come home from WDW to another snowmaggedon like we had last year:scared1:. That would not be good:sad2:

Have fun!

Think nothing of it! Jackalopes are welcomed on this thread:thumbsup2

:rotfl::rotfl: Awesome.

are there any special rules or anything each that special to the CR that i should know about? I have stayed at a disney resort before, but not a deluxe one or the cr..

like do the pools have certain hours? cuz i know at the pop they didnt, just when the lifeguard was on duty..

in 2009 was the last time i had fun trip to disney. With my sister, this year when i went with my cousin, not so much fun for several reasons..

even though me and my sis had like no sleep during our 9 days there it still was the time of our lives.. so im hoping to go with her again in 2012, and this time we can have a stragedy in place. 2009 was my first time in over 10 years so i had no clue what to do, and it was my first time without family(parents), and it was my sister's first time ever!

basically our day would go like this:

5:00am-wake up and get ready for the day
6:30am get on the bus to whatever park we decided on for the day.
7am-9am(or 8am depending): arrive at chosen park, wait in line, watch the cute little pre opening shows they have, we loved them! i think holllywood studios was our fav
9am- noon or later- park time,
noon(or later)- we take a cool down break and go to one of the water parks to rest up in the lazy river for a few hours
3pmish- go back to same park or change parks
8-ish settle down for whichever fireworks we wanted to see that night
10ish- go to downtown disney for a bit
11ish- roll back into bed...
3am or 4 am- wake up and take a nice relaxing quiet swim in the Pop pools..
5am wake up and do it all over again

thats what we did for 9 days.. but it was soooo much fun and well worth losing sleep over.. and i cant wait till 2012 when we go again!

ive thought about so many things already about the trip.. planning things.. like what tickets to get, the dining plan.. how to pay, since my sis has 2 growing boys to care for. I told i would give her the sign in and she can pay whatever and whenever she can and i will pay the rest.. i dont mind paying for it.. its well worth it if 2009 is anything to judge it by.. lol:wizard:

The CR's pool hours are from 7AM - midnight.

Looks like you have it all planned out!

Persistence paid off today. I've been checking online almost daily for an AP rate for the CR for our first 3 nights, but no rooms have been available - until today! I was finally able to book a GW/GV room and cancel our CSR reservation. There were also GW/STD rooms available, but that was it.

I thought something might open-up today because it's near the 5-day cancellation window. Sure enough, there were cancellations. The CM said that they've also been receiving more cancellations due to the bad winter storm in the midwest. I feel bad for those who have to cancel for any reason, but I am excited that we can go back to the CR soon:goodvibes

Thank you, jandkmom. I had to start my ticker slider all over again, but it was worth it:rotfl:

Looks like your trip isn't far off. Do you have all your ADRs?

The lifeguards leave at 10 p.m. and they close the slide, but guests aren't prevented from (quietly;)) swimming or using the hot tub.

okay thank you thats what i was wondering.. quiet hours is when me and my sis loved going swimming, nice and quiet and relaxing..

Congrates on snagging the ressie at CR. It is unfortunate that one persons misfortune is anothers good luck but that is life.
We had to cancel our trip this November 3 weeks out, when our boiler decided to quit for good but I know some one was happy to get the value 1 bdrm villa we had booked at AKL.

Speaking of bad weather that is the reason when we rebooked we did so for October next year, the day we were to fly out this year there was an ice and snow storm so made us think it might be better to go earlier next year.
Have a great trip!

Thank you, sjs314.

Well, I look at it that I've opened-up a room at CSR for someone. Before I switched our reservation to the CR, there were only King CSR rooms available with the AP rate, now there is a Queen room available. I bet someone will be happy to get it.

Between hurricanes and tropical storms from spring to fall and bad winter weather and having to strike the right balance between weather and crowds and rates and availability and when you and your family can even go, it can be a real challenge planning a WDW vacation date, can't it? Unless you live in FL - I think that makes it easier::yes::

I know there is a charge to have internet in your room. But is it wireless? I can't remember :confused3
Nope, WDW lives in the internet dark ages:sad2:. There is a free cable hanging in the closet in a bag that you connect to the wall behind the desk and to your computer. The charge is $9.95 for 24 contiguous hours. If you have an Apple you could use an Airport Express for wireless connectivity.

yeah we had a great time in 2009.. i was just pricing things through work, i get a discount on disney tickets.
Discounts are good:thumbsup2. We don't go to WDW without them!

Where in IN are you? I grew-up in Bloomington.
