~*~The After-Twilight Bookclub!!!~*~

Kresley Cole always pops up online as like the Queen of paranormal romance. I read the first of her books (can't even remember the name, main character named Lachlain who kept trying to rape the vampire heroine.) Anyway, I HATED it! Do the books get better? Because I've loved the Demonica books, Black Dagger Brotherhood, Lords of the Underworld, but that first Kresly Cole one just totally turned me off.

The Fever Books by Karen Moning are awesome. She has fantastic cliffhangers! I loved The Poison Study, and can't wait to continue that series.

Right now I'm on book three of Jeanine Frost's Night Huntress Series. Bones will completely make you think: Edward Who? OMG, he's hot, sultry, sarcastic! I think he even beats out all the Brothers as my favorite literary vampire! LOL! Second book, chapter 32, that's all I have to say about that!;):cool2

BTW, has anyone else joined Goodreads . com? I love being able rate and review books and seeing what my friends are reading.

That Kresley Cole book is actually the 2nd in the series. The series is called Immortals After Dark and book 10 just came out. These books are fantastic! We seem to like the same kind of vampire books so you should love this series too. You really have to read the 1st book because it gives you the set up of the world and the characters. It's not just vampires, but werewolves, demons, valkerie, fae, so many different characters. The male main character in that 2nd book isn't trying to rape the female main character. She is his mate and when you read the whole story you will get a better understanding of the reasons behind him chasing her. The books get better as they go along.

I saw on Goodreads that you are reading the Night huntress series. I loved that series and Bones also one of my favorite characters! Chapter 32 was unbelievable!!!

April 5th to be exact. It's in my wish list over at amazon. Im not too excited about it though, the story focuses on Simon and not Jace and Clary.

I don't want to sound like a know it all, but I was concerned about no Jace and Clary in the next Mortal Instruments book so I went to the website and Cassandra Claire said the story does not just focus on Simon. Yes he is in the story and a bit more than previous books, but she said it's not "his book". Clary and Jace are very much a part of the story as well as the other characters!!! I am really excited for that book!

I bought Clockwork Angel but have not read it yet, I will start it this week.

Clockwork angel is on my tbr list. I also started the demons after dark series and just wasn't feeling it. Maybe I'll try the second book since so many people like it. I also read the first book of the Anita Blake series by laurel Hamilton but never moved on after that. There are just so darned many of them! I've also been really enjoying the Harry potter series but they are just so long I'm dreading reading book 6.

Then of course there is my fascination with fanfic. I swear a lot of fics are way better than most books I read.

Insatiable by Meg Cabot was really good...maybe the adult version of the Vampire Academy series.

Some more thoughts about Clockwork Angel in white:

I've be wrecking my mind trying to figure out what's up with Will. Anyone have any thoughts or theories on this?

What's the first book in the Immortals After Dark series? That book I read just rubbed me the wrong way. Yes, most paranormal romance have the whole "mine" connection going on between mates, but it seemed like the main character of this book was constantly taking advantage of her, even when unconscious. Then she'd wake up like, "no stop (but oh if felt good.)" Because I trust your taste;) I'll give it another try!

Yes, chapter 32, well there really are no words!:worship:

Oh, no the pressure is on, don't trust me! just kidding...seriously, this series is great. Here is the order of the books:

Immortals After Dark series by Kresley Cole
1. The Warlord Wants Forever (this is a short story in a anthology called Playing Easy To Get)
2. A Hunger Like No Other
3. No Rest For The Wicked
4. Wicked Deeds On A Winters Night
5. Dark Needs at Nights Edge
6. Dark Desires After Dusk
7. Kiss Of A Demon King
8. Deep Kiss Of Winter (this book is with a Gena Showalter story)
9. Pleasure Of A Dark Prince
10. Demon From The Dark

OK, please don't judge the books by their names!:rotfl: What is really cool is that Kresley Cole and Gena Showalter are BFF's. So, in the Lords Of The Underworld series 2 of Kresley's characters have cameos!! kresley's female characters are awesome and she intertwined all the stories and characters so well. You do have to read these books in order. Can't wait to see if you like them!

I finally finished Mockingjay! I had to take a slight break while reading it, I had to fly home last week to see my dying grandpa on a one day notice & it's just been crazy since I got here. I was really sad to see it end, especially since it kind of left me wanting more, but overall I really loved it. I'm going to get back to reading City of Ashes now!

I am sorry to hear about your grandpa. My thought are with you.

So sorry about your grandfather :guilty:

Thank you both. :goodvibes He passed last Tuesday. I'm just glad he is finally at rest & not in pain anymore.

I know what you mean, my grandpa was 99 years old and he had never been sick a day in his life and he became really sick and was miserable.

I'm reading Never Let Me Go. There's a movie based on this book being released soon (this weekend, I think). Anyone read this? Interesting premise, but slow. I'm actually getting bored with it. It's one of those books you could probably read the beginning and end and get the entire story. I don't understand how reviewers are saying there is a big reveal at the end. It's pretty much spelled out for you within the first two pages. Give me my saucy vampire books any day!

I started Hunger Games, I need reassurance that this book isn't one long angst fest. I've cried three times in the first four chapters!

I consider it as more of action based angst through the rest. No, I think it is a good book, but it does have the angst.

I have a new rec. I've been reading a series called Generation Dead. Don't let the crappy covers fool you, it's very very good and written by a man! I would say it's about teenage zombies, but they aren't really zombies...so check it out!

Hmm we are some zombie loving fools in this house. I need to look up that series.

Anyone else anxiously awaiting the release of Last Sacrifice???!!!!
The first chapter is up on Richelle Meads website.

How is everyone and what have you all been reading? I finally got a Kindle and I have read a bunch of new books. Nothing too great so I am really looking forward to Last Sacrifice!
