~*~The After-Twilight Bookclub!!!~*~

Hi Ladies! Happy New Year!!! I have been so busy with some new health situations that I haven't really had time for fiction reading. I finally got through the second part of the last book in the Hunger Game series and I have to say I'm liking it but it's a bit slow.

SPOILER: I was really impressed when Peeta called her out on being a selfish little piece of work for kissing Gale and him, etc. I loved the line where she says something like... "Now that he's not blindly in love with me he see's me for who I am" Isn't that a fear of everybody who's had somebody love them? I really felt that hit me to the core. I thought it was really an intense concept...great writing!

I'll probably finish off part III tonight but I'm nervous as I think people were not happy with the ending so..... we'll see!

I can't believe I just noticed that The Last Sacrifice is out! It's probably got a waiting list 8 miles long through the library. I'll have to see if I can get my hands on a copy so I can join in the spoiler discussion!

Has anyone read the Rachel Morgan stories? Right now I am reading Dead Witch Walking, it is a good read.

Yup, I read that book but did not go on from there. I really like the tiny fairy character. The plot just seemed to get in the way of me enjoying the characters! lol But I definitely enjoyed the humor in it.

The humor is great in the beginning but right now it kind of fizzled out. I like the way the characters are written.

Have you read any of the Terri Garey books, like Dead Girls Are Easy?

Thought I should give an update on what I've been reading. Before going on my Disney trip last month I picked up Battle Royale, the japanese novel that paved the way for books like The Hunger Games. In fact, the concept is very similar. I'll be writing up a comparison soon on my blog, as I just finished reading it yesterday. It's a bit of massive books with lots of details.

Yesterday I started reading Red Riding Hood by Sarah Blakley-Cartwright. I suggest you ladies pick it up immediately! It's based on the movie Catherine Hardwicke is directing and it's quite adiciting. I've already read halfway through it and I'm forcing myself to take breaks!

Hmm, I might look for it.

I haven't read that series ... but I think I"ve heard good things about it.

Who's read Shadowfever! Loved it! I must discuss . . .

I read the first two books in that series.. thanks for reminding me to pick them up!

Red Riding Hood sounds interesting!

I am reading the sequel to Dead Girls Are Easy but, I cannot say the title on here. Their is a certain H word in the title. I still love the lead character Nikki Styx.

Definitely going to pick up Red Riding Hood. The movie looks amazing, I love Amanda Seyfried. Thanks for the recommendation! :)

Hmm we are some zombie loving fools in this house. I need to look up that series.

You definitely need to read The Forest of Hands and Teeth series by Carrie Ryan then! I loved the first one and the second one (The Dead-Tossed Waves) was almost just as good. Terror, suspense, romance, it's got it all! :)

Sorry for the double-post, I just started going back through all the pages and saw this :)

We loved that series. I will say that I thought The Forest of Hands and Teeth was better than The Dead Tossed Waves which was good too. Thank you for the recommendation though.:flower3:

Oh good! That was the first thing that came to mind when you said that :) I can't wait for the third one in March :) :goodvibes

Has anyone read I Am Legend by Richard Matheson? Just wondering what the opinions were about it :)

My husband and our son both read it. They are my major zombie fans, my husband was so-so over it, our son loved it. My DH loves Brian Keene for his zombie stories. They are really scary.

Just wanted to let you ladies know I finished Red Riding Hood last night (I couldn't put it down!), but...this book has no ending! That's right, the last chapter will be published online in 34 days when the movie comes out! It's a hell of a cliffhanger!

Did you know that before you bought the book?

This alone would be reason for me to not read a book.

Does everyone with a kindle (or kindle app) know that now you can loan and borrow books? There is a website for sharers to join and post your books and search books available for loan.

It's great although you can only loan a book once and you only get 14 days with books you've borrowed.

Omg! I want to read that really bad, I'm glad you said something or I would have been mad! Are they waiting to publish it because of the movie or something?

Hmm okay I may give it a try. I am scared of zombies but I discovered I like to read about them, I will check out Brian Keene, thanks :)
