Mind if I resurrect this thread?

Wow, what happened to this thread??? I can't believe it's been so long since the last post!

Well I came here in search of someone to talk to about the new Black Dagger Brotherhood book that was just released called Lover Reborn. I just finished it and it was a emotional roller coaster! Anyone here read it yet?

So many books so little time but I have been trying to keep up! Recently I finished the latest Lords of the Underworld book, Paris's book and I liked it even though I had my issues with the lead female character.

Anyone here reading or heard about the book Fifty Shades of Grey? It seems to be everywhere & really popular. Wondering if it's worth a try?

I don't mind one bit! I'm on chapter 13 of Lover Reborn, came here to respond to you before getting back to it. As of this moment I'm a bit underwhelmed with this book. I think there are some continuity issues and silly mistakes. I feel like Lassiter is shoving information down our throats. I'm going to be crazy happy if Tohr's HEA turns out to be someone other than No'one. This seems too contrived for me, I was thinking JR would have gone further out of the box here. It also seems like the last several books are in the same POV, no new thought processes or inner monologues.

I've read all the versions of 50 Shades including the "F" word version, yanno.. Fanfic. But that's taboo here.

Sexy good stuff though and I hear there is already talk of a movie deal???

As for Game of Thrones, I just can't keep up with that book and I don't have HBO to watch it. So many people rave about both though that I may go back and try to finish reading it.

Most Likely . I got to the end of the first book and was well that would have done me some good about 1000 pages ago. My sister has the paperbacks and told me she knew about them. It would also be nice to look at the map from time to time. Cant wait for the 2nd season to start!

I may have to invest in a book for that. I love my Nook but this sort of thing makes it difficult to read. I didn't start watching it until a few days ago and I have been catching up watching it On Demand. My DH couldn't get into the first show he said it was too much like a soap opera.

My daughter loves Fanfic but it drives me nuts. I heard about the movie deal too.


I couldn't get into the book to begin with but once I started watching the series I was better able to get into the book.

I have read all of them. I loved the series, I held off a slong as I could with the last one. I didn't want to see the series end.


Definitely check out Dead Witch Walking. When you do Jenk's is my favorite character.

I don't want to read it for the same reasons you were putting it off! I don't want it to end!

I have to tell you writing has been the best thing for me! Hopefully one day I will be a published author!!

I wondered if you were reading Lover Reborn! Ok, I agree with you! I feel like all the voices are the same, like somehow the brothers all meshed and became one person. The characters aren't staying true to the characters. I get it when a character changes because they have grown but that's not the case here. What bothered me is there was so much of Xhex, I just never liked her even though I love John Matthew. And Xcore, I was so annoyed there was so much of him but the way things turn out for him is interesting. I won't give anything away but I have a feeling you will not be happy as you continue to read. There was a lot going on in this book and sometimes it was just too much. I just wanted Tohr's story you know? Ok I won't get into it anymore until you are done. Now hurry and read so we can talk about it

I know I really enjoy writing. You can always publish it yourself as an e-book. A lot of authors do.

Oh that makes me happy and excited that you think it ended well!

I was all set on self publishing but then thought why not try the traditional way first and see what happens. We shall see how it goes.

I was thinking the other day about looking for this thread. I am glad you resurrected it!

I didn't think that I would like reading an e-reader but I love it. I am loving Game of Thrones. I am flying through it.

It's amazing how fast they went, DBF threatened to take the kindle away because he was tired of being ignored. So I had to limit myself to just reading when I was feeding the baby, or in the car, or procrastinating. DBF had the first 4. I bought the 5th one (i didnt love that one nearly as much as the other 4) and now I am just waiting for Sunday

It's amazing how fast they went, DBF threatened to take the kindle away because he was tired of being ignored. So I had to limit myself to just reading when I was feeding the baby, or in the car, or procrastinating. DBF had the first 4. I bought the 5th one (i didnt love that one nearly as much as the other 4) and now I am just waiting for Sunday

I just saw on the Barnes and Noble website that they sell an app for their tablet and Nook color that has maps and stuff. I think I may buy it. It certainly will be helpful.

For those who read and love The Black Dagger Brotherhood by J R Ward she announced today the main characters of her next book!! Blay & Qhuinn!!! I'm so excited!!!

I saw that and as I'm sure I'll buy it the day it gets released and read it within days I'm just not too happy with the series as a whole right now. I've finished Tohr and I'm still disappointed. There were just too many inaccuracies, timeline issues and overall lack of imagination on JRs part. I'm not sure why she decided to throw JM and Xhex into this mix while they were essentially ignored in the last book and supposedly living their HEA.

JR should have taken the chance and let Autumn go permanently. Not all endings have to be ever after. And let's talk about Autumn.. What kind of stupid name was that??no offense to anyone named Autumn, but really!

Lassiter was a true dumb butt, no imagination at all. No surprises or ingenious plot twists.

I'm nearly liking Xcor at this point just cause I'm so sick of the rest of them.

I recently read a review of the Sookie books that complained the author should have gone back to reread her own books to refresh her memory. The same would be said for JR. Then maybe she'd remember that her vampires have no fingerprints.

Oh how I agree with you! I will be the same way with the next book but it kind of bums me out because I already know how it'll play out. Blay & Qhuinn will get together, Layla will have the baby, the three will raise her together, and Layla will end up with Xcor.

Ok what bothered me was why was Xhex making it such a big deal about not going out fighting with the brothers? I mean Payne does it and no one makes a big deal that she is a woman. I just don't understand why she couldn't see it had nothing to do with her being a woman and everything to do with her mate wanting her safe. She just annoys me to no end. And why was Payne practically invisible. And when the heck did all this take place? At first it seemed like it was during the same time Payne and Manny got together because J R made mention it was a short time after JM & Xhex's mating ceremony.

Even though too much of the lessers would bother me in previous books I feel like they have taken a back seat in this series when it use to always be all about them and the brothers. I just don't like this angle of the B.O.B. (and what a silly name!) trying to take over.

Lassiter I feel was a waist of what could have been and what was in the past a good character.

Autumn, yeah I agree I don't like it either and it kind of bothered me he named her and it just seemed to happen so quickly I don't know that whole scene just bothered me.

What I don't get is why aren't her editors and/or her team calling her out on these inconsistancies? I think they all need to reread the books before writing/editing the next one. While that may sound harsh, it's not meant to be because I still do love the brothers.
