I'm VERY excited! I've had a VA low since I finished the last book. Haven't read the first chapter yet and I think I won't! I'm holding out until tuesday!
I have a book that you might be interested in, it is called Switched by Amanda Hocking. So far it is proving to be really interesting, I feel like I am getting sucked in by it.
I read that recently! I liked it and it sucked me in too! I thought it was very different and look forward to the next book!
There is a second book, it is called Torn. It is only $2.99 right now for my Nook so guess what I am gonna get.![]()
I didn't know the 2nd book came out! I just looked on the Kindle store and it is $2.99 there too! Guess I am going to get it now too!
Thank you!!!
A few books I've read lately that I've really enjoyed:
The Parasol Protectorate Series by Gail Carriger. Steampunk, paranormal, romance. Very, very good. The books are Soulless, Changeless, Blameless (Heartless, and Timeless will be coming out soon.)
The Blades of the Rose Series by Zoe Archer. Romance, steampunk, paranormal. In order: Warrior, Scoundrel, Rebel, Stranger. I loved the first two, was iffy about Rebel. The fourth just came out a couple of days ago.
I finally read Outlander. Loved it. It is one of those books that will stay with me. I'm halfway through Dragonfly in Amber and I find myself skimming. I think I just need to read the Cliff's Notes instead of thousands of pages. Galbadon sure does get wordy!
I started reading Heavenly by Jennifer Laurens. Heard about this from Desnik over on goodreads. Very good so far. A young adult supernatural romance about the Guardian Angel of a young autistic girl who falls for the girls sister. So far its giving me a Twilight-ish feel. Forbidden love. I actually got butterflies in my stomach during one scene! I also love the way the author is handling the autistic element. She can definitely relate to what it's like raising a child with autism. Heavenly is the first book in the series, Penitence and Absolution follow.
I've also enjoyed Maria V. Snyder's Study Series, first Poison Study, then Magic Study, finally Fire Study.
Other books I look forward to reading that have come highly recommended from goodreads are Gentlemen Prefer Succubi, One Night in Scotland, and The Greyfriar by Clay and Susan Griffith. This one has great reviews!
Anyone new on goodreads? Wanna be friends?![]()
Are we friends on goodreads yet?
Have you read the next series from Maria V Snyder? I didn't like it quite as much but I did like it. Especially the last book which Valek plays a huge part. And if you sign up for her newsletter you get to read Ice Study which she is giving out to the people that get it.
Not on goodreads, but I'd love to add you as a friend. What do we need to add friends? Is it email or name?
Ice Study? There is going to bra fourth book? That's exciting!!
Desnik, I finished Last Sacrifice. I really liked it! My favorite of the series. I'm actually sad the series is over, I had a love / hate relationship with it! I'm also halfway through Heavenly. Really enjoying that one too, even though I shelved it for a couple of days to read LS.
I haven't finished Last Sacrifice! I've been busy with schoolwork! D:
But I'll finish it this week, I promise!
I finished Last Sacrifice, liked it as well
guess now we have to look forward to the spinoff series, actually i was hoping it would be at Court and not back at the academy but at least she's giving us something
I just finished it as well, wrapped up nice and tidy at the end. there was part that made me cry (no spoiler) and unfortunately I was sitting in the Sprint store while reading!
