Somehow I got lost among your TRs. I thought I'd read everything linked in your siggie, but I guess I missed the most recent stuff. And sometimes I get so behind on this thread that I have to resort to skimming or, gasp, the chapter links. I knew that you were going to be assisting another family with their trip at the same time as this trip with Liesa and Leeann, but I couldn't remember how that came to be.

I can totally understand that!

And honestly aside from a few random posts, I never really did a big post about why the family went and what the plan was, etc.

As soon as I get back from this next trip - I will do some posts about that...as Liesa is getting us to Disney, I will work on giving some background for that trip so I can catch everyone up.

I had the idea about a year ago...but never could really pull it off...Then I just did one step at a time over the weekend and it turned out much better than I had even hoped!

I couldn't even sleep last night because I was so excited!

My foot that is in the boot is good - as long as it is in the boot. I take it off at night to do some stretches, etc and if I walk then, it doesn't feel so good - so I still have some work to do, I am afraid.

But it is all good....I am going to not worry about it until after this trip and then I should be good to go back to the dr and see what he says.

This is going on the wheelchair that I have to use - again - for my upcoming trip. AND Rachel and Lauren are currently fighting over who gets to wear it for Halloween.

I remember you mentioning a wheelchair and sickness being involved during your travels....is it related to the lamb meatloaf? Maybe not because the kids got sick too....eek.

Yes, that was his mom. She pretty much gave him free reign of the aisle for the entire flight. That has its good and bad points- keeps the kid quiet, but isn't so convenient for the other passengers who'd like to keep booger fingers off their food.

I'm not caught up yet, so this might be redundant, but I worked in the medical field and they can give meds that helps the body drain the fluid away from the heart. These patients are usually a little weaker and more fragile medically, but they can do pretty well for a long time! My prayers are with you and your stepfather.

Hi Tammie- Thanks so much for offering encouragement to Tracy. I was going to call her in a few minutes, and see how her Dad is. I can tell she really loves him a lot- and she needs the reassuring!

Had a great Sunday of relaxing, re-connecting with some friends we've known for over 20 years, and catching up on some much needed house cleaning. See, that's what I'm thinking! One time we were on a flight from Almaty to Istanbul, and the Turks were SOOOOOOOO bad about lighting up in the bathroom, that they had to do a pooper lock-down. MAN! was I thankful when that plane landed- I had to go SOOOOOOOOO bad!!! It was awful. What is it about "NO SMOKING" announed in 4 languages do you NOT understand??!!!

Today is pre-op day, Christine!! I hope everything is going really well!! Are you feeling ok? Confident? Cared for?? I know you're going to feel so great afterwards, so this is a VERY good thing.

My son was at an AFB not sure if it was Mannas or not, but probably. He was there around 2005-06. They had a small uprising while he was there, but not a lot came from it at that time.

I'll bet it was Mannas! Amazing, such a small world!

There have been MANY uprisings over the years; some more successful than others. The ones this year completely overthrew the gov't and things were very unstable- you should read my PTR for our horrific border crossing experience last spring. Horrible, I tell you!!

My trips just continue and continue and continue...although after this weekend I have NONE planned for a while - just a cruise in June and not sure if I will be going to Disney then or not.

I pretty much "live" over on the wish trippers thread or on this thread...or on the make a wish kids threads.

But I will be glad to give you more back story if you want it.

Me neither and for a while I thought I would be over it but no I am not. I am worried I won't have enough time.

I looking forward to be there again, I need a vacation from work again. I also look forward to meeting up with you again.

Ahhh, caught up. Only took me about 3 hours, in between folding loads of laundry. I've given myself permission to indulge in as much Dis time as I want today, since its our first day back and I am EXHAUSTED! Not doing anything productive except laundry. Liesa, your TR has been a emotional roller coaster already! I'm so loving it!

Takes me days to catch up on our own thread!! Sheesh! I SOOOOOOO want to be on everyone else's threads, but until things smooth out around here, it's pretty much impossible.

Evening all !!Home from my 14 hour day!! All I can say is if you need info on how to shower someone who had carpal tunnel surgery and the next day cut /pulled out the stitches !!!!The surgical instrument he used was TOENAIL cutters !!! Our RN gave me STRICT as in your life depends on it instructions that tthe new dressing from the ER could not get wet!!!

Can't believe my trip is in 18 days !!!!!

I used toenail clippers to cut many a stitch out- that's exactly what my doc told me to use on my kids. That's the same one I told that it didn't take a brain surgeon to take stitches out. Problem was he WAS a brain surgeon. Yeah, open mouth, insert foot.
