The ABC's of Trip Planning, Pt 1- K is for Keeping Things Kooky- Drinks V-Z; pg. 197 + New Link

A Q... uiet Pool late at night:
Looks more like a Questionable decision to jump into a pool at night in your clothes.

A couple of Q....uacking ducks:
Um... I don't think they're quacking... :rolleyes1

WE interrupt this PTR for some very exciting (well, at least it is to ME!) news!!!! The first views of the Skipper's Cantina came out last night, and BOY OH BOY am I excited for this one!!! Like... I-just-got-$50-Christmas-bonus-from-work excited. Which I actually did! WOOT!
That is exciting! Both the Skipper's Cantina news and the bonus!

I hope I can manage to eat there at some point on our trip. I'm not really holding my breath about it though. It will depend on if we can fit it in easily and DW really isn't all that crazy about trying it out.

October 1, 1931 Alan Wagner, a former CBS programming executive who became the first president of the Disney Channel, is born in Manhattan, New York.
(As East Coast vice president of programming at CBS from 1976 to 1982, Wagner was in charge of developing and overseeing hit shows like All in the Family, Kojak, M*A*S*H, and The Bob Newhart Show.)

That seems a rather obscure and bizarre reference in this context to me. My guess would have been that it is just a play on the fact that the Grand Opening of the Magic Kingdom and hence also the Jungle cruise there was on October 1, 1971. However, theming wise and story wise, it had to be earlier in the 20th century, so they just transported the 1971 event into 1931.

You could be right. Just open and already mysteries abound!

You will LOVE the Seeds Tour! It was fabulous in every way. There is SO much stuff to see in there, and so much information packed in!

When we eventually go back - sometime after SW Land opens...

I do love horchata. So much! The whole package sounds really great to me! I"ll be sure to take lots of pix and let you know what I think. ANd yes, you should go grab some with your take out Mexican for dinner tonight. ;)

Must do that soon...

Hey All,

So, I didn't share earlier that I failed my first attempt at my Math Exam. Each term we have to pass at 100% a math exam involving calculating doses, IV flow rates, dose adjustments, tons of conversions, etc... I made a VERY silly, utterly ridiculous mistake last Friday, so in an hour have to re-attempt. We only get 3 tries, so I am over-the-top full of anxiety heading in. It starts in about an hour. Please pray my anxiety will get control over itself, I can think clearly, and make ZERO mistakes.

You can do this! Good luck!!

By the time I post this you're probably taking your test. So even if you see it after the fact, you've got another person sending you good luck!!
I took a peek at the Cantina, looks so cool! Picking places to eat gets harder all the time. So many places we never tried 10 year ago when kids were little. Planning on trying restaurants that are new to us/old for most people. But with all these new ones the decisions is complicated. I was excited to try BOG for the first time. Now I want to go here too. I suppose maybe BOG ADR might get easier though with every trying to go to Cantina : )

OMG! I didn't pass again. Not sure when my last attempt will be... Not a happy way to spend my break. :(

Use the time to try and relax. I know, easier said than done, but hopefully a little time before the next one gets all those "willies" out and you can just get the job done. For you Nurse Liesa, I have faith. :teacher:

A train tour sounds so fun! I love experiencing vintage activuties!

Have you had Rumchata? I found it a few years ago in Arizona, and now everyone is talking about it here. I think it's pretty much a Holiday beverage. Now I need to get some.....probably won't take it to our Bible study party tomorrow

Check out the scene, Folks!! Can you guess which table we've picked out to wait for? OH, and by the way, TOTALLY just found one of my souvenirs too. WOWZA, Kazowza, I REALLY want an Apple Slushie cup.

Suuuuuper exciting. NO?!

Skipper's Cantina does look like a great place to try! Might be worth doing the DDP. We have been doing oop the last few trips.

I think it is great that they finally added a new TS restaurant to the MK, it was desperately needed. And the place looks like a lot of fun and I like the menu. Of course, now this is going to be the hottest ticket for reservations... I guess I better start making plans for our next trip to figure out when we will be at the MK so that I can be online at the 180 day mark on the dot... I hope you get your reservations!!

ME too!! And yes, it was! A nicer one serving other stuff than burgers and Taco Salad. I LOVE the interactive places that serve to tell a story and are more immersional. That's why I GO to WDW!

I really hope I can get a ressie there for October!!

I'd rather imagine sipping out of it in MK!

Hmm.... Could be!! I wonder if Guest Services could shed some light??

Oh there will be that too. Just no booze. Just as Uncle Walt would've wanted.

Lest you forget. That trip was on the return from Crapistan where we also took most of our vacations to other countries that insist on a VERY modest style of clothing. That was the only suit I had at the time. Other than one they don't let in WDW. (My hot tubbing one)

Um... I don't think they're quacking... :rolleyes1

Ok, fine. Occasionally Quacking Ducks.

That is exciting! Both the Skipper's Cantina news and the bonus!

I think the $50 will actually pay for the Cantina Cuisine.

I hope I can manage to eat there at some point on our trip. I'm not really holding my breath about it though. It will depend on if we can fit it in easily and DW really isn't all that crazy about trying it out.

I hope so too!!! I mean, you can always shoot for a walk up?

A bit more plausible? Maybe. I still think there's more to the story....

I wonder if there's a reference to the S.E.A. that we're missing...?

When we eventually go back - sometime after SW Land opens...

I like SW, but not a huge over-the-top fan. I can take it or leave it. Yes, I"m excited to see how Disney themes it, and of course I'll go and likely enjoy it, but not something I look forward to like the diehard fans. My kids, on the other hand....

It's the stuff legends are going to be made out of! :thumbsup2

I agree!!!

 Yikes! Calm down, relax and kick that test's @$$!!! No more silly mistakes!

Good luck! You are a smart cookie. Just try and stay calm and think through everything and triple check your work. :)

Oh no!! Good math vibes coming your way!!! Best of luck!!

You can do this! Good luck!!

I wish I had had better news to share and rejoice with. But it didn't go as planned. :(

Thanks! I hope next time I can pass it!

Yes, choosing where to eat is SO hard! There are dozens of places I haven't tried yet, and likely will never get to before they are closed. But that's ok, Disney is always coming up with new fun stuff and usually (not always, but usually) the theming makes up for a mediocre meal.

Oh no! Don't give up though. You'll get it!!

I won't give up. Promise.

Thank you Pat! You and Marv have been so kind and encouraging to me. Your texts are always so uplifting and have really helped me get through this! I will take it again in a couple weeks and do my best. Again.

Me too! I like museums and living history stuff!

NO, I haven't but have heard about it. Sounds amazing! Yeah, probably not a good idea. LOL!

It sure might be!! We've never done the DDP, I think because we are such light eaters. We can easily get away with sharing a couple meals between the 3 or even 4 of us.
