The ABCs of An EPIC Girls' Trip! May, 2019-Q is for: Quietly Sending this Trip Report off Into an Internet Sunset (8/25)

That was a reference to something I'd posted on my other thread a while ago that I'd seen a while back... I laughed to hard and now think of this every time I hear "party pooper".

I vaguely remember that now that you mention it.

Your costuming efforts really paid off!! WOW! So amazing and fun. :) You are one talented lady!

Aww shucks. Thanks. I was pretty happy with them this year. The parents of these kids really stepped in this year to help. Anne (the director) told them all that my time was very limited and these moms/dads were coming to me and asking what they could do to help/learn to create. It was amazing how much they stepped up this year.

@Chrystmasangel You did a fantastic job on her!!

Thank you. Her presence on stage was amazing. I couldn't find a picture of it, but when she was first on stage, she was at the top of a two story "Lair" and she had her rings wrapped around her so you couldn't see her glowing eyes. Then when Donkey came in, she came out with a flourish off the stairs. It actually gave me chills seeing her reveal herself.

Bingo!

I just made some to kind of match, though I picked BTMRR instead of the JC :goodvibes

See you soon!

Nice!! :) Still no idea what I'm doing for dinner. I am actually thinking of something crazy-ish and doing my FiPs then heading back to Jiko now for a late dinner. :) These sound really nice for a single diner:

  • Taste of AfricaAfrican inspired Dips, traditional papadum, sesame fatir, house-made flax seed naan $15
  • Bobotie Macaroni & Cheesefour cheeses, elk, almonds, raisins, Cape Malay curry$14.00
  • Coconut-Curry Shrimppoblano pepper, red pearl onions, curry sauce$16.00

Then I'll be close to the room and get get to bed by 11:00 or so. :)

I laugh every time. He's so deadpan!

I'm so glad you got help! That was WAY too much to do for one person!

That sounds so amazing! Those kids should all be so proud of their work!

I love all the excitement about the last minute trip changes. It sounds like lots of good things happening and that is always wonderful to hear! I hope the last few days aren't too stressful!

Anyone stayed there? What are your thoughts or comments? Any hidden gems to look for? Other ideas on best room locations?

Yes, we stayed at Coronado a number of years ago. I liked the rooms; the pool was just okay. We ended up using a quiet pool closer to our room and liked it better than the main pool. You're right -- there are many good photography opportunities, lots of fountains in particular. Will the new restaurant in the middle of the lake be open when you're there?

As promised I'll share the plans I've cooked up for the extra time I'll have on the front end of my trip. I did it in between card games at work.

You're really milking this one! I hope that proposal didn't even make it to a vote.

So, as you know, I'm arriving on May Day.

My birthday! pixiedust:

I really want to be at the resort for her arrival, so I'll head out by bus at 7:30 or so.

That's a lot to pack into a little time!

Something very, very special is in store for the EPIC Group that I'll save for the actual Report when I get back in a couple of weeks but, trust me... you will definitely want to check back in for the unbelievable amazingness of what we're going to be up to!!

Somehow I think Sy-Lynn will be sharing it on Instagram if it's that epic!

I may or may not even use them. :) I tried to go with ones we probably won't get to during our tour or that I don't have scheduled with Mom later in the trip. Kinda flying by the seat of my pants this trip.

Sounds good. I will probably head back a bit earlier than that to try to see if I can get into the room and also get my goodie bags put together. I am thinking I need to re-think what time.

I'm needing to find time to put the finishing touches on my gifts as well. It might have to be on my arrival night.

Sounds like sharing may be in store???? I am more of a small bits many times than big bits a time or two kinda gal and if we share?? maybe we can get in even more small bits of lovely nom noms!

YES, YES, YES!!!

I actually have it in Exel so that when I change the price of something on the page with the booths/items I want and change the price, it auto populates the new price on the page with the budget. Schooling did something good for me!

ME TOO!! LOLOLOL! (We're such dorks.)

I know!!!!!!!!!!! I just can't wait! I was kinda freaking out about the amount of crafties I put on my plate, but I am down to just two more projects I need to complete in the next 5 1/2 days. I actually had to drop one of them and might throw it back in if I get done with the two I have left. It will be close, but I think I can get it all done.

You went WAY above and beyond. Yur awesum!

I can't wait to see them all though... :cloud9:

I vaguely remember that now that you mention it.

It's so funny! It could have been any name, but the way he delivers it... :rotfl:

Many hands...

YAY!!!

This is what I was thinking!!!!!!

I think it'll totally depend on where we're at when. I do kinda worry about losing a ton of time with everyone going a million different directions to eat...

I've never done a last minute trip before. I can't IMAGINE trying to do that without having ever been or with very little knowledge or research. I can't think that it'd be anything but a complete disaster with getting on one ride at best after a 2 hour wait and no choices other than CS (which admittedly can be pretty decent nowadays at every park if you know where the better options are). I'm glad it's all worked out and I think a great trip is headed my way!

Am I first?! ;) Sorry, just found this.

YES, it's YOUR first post here! So congratulations and :welcome::welcome::welcome:! Glenn, it's never too late to join a Steppe Report, cuz you KNOW it's going to last WAY too long. :rotfl2:

I'm definitely a quiet pool kind of gal so that's A-OK with me. I will wander over and take some photos, but if I get in at all, it'll be closer to my room. As for photography, I hope to do some on one of our evenings there. Yes, the new place is open I believe, but we have no plans whatsoever to go there and try it. Our plans are pretty packed out with other stuff.

:rolleyes1

The last I heard she agreed to shadow a nurse for a day. That oughta be very interesting!

My birthday! pixiedust:

YAY!!! Mine is the 8th!

That's a lot to pack into a little time!

And in reality I may not be able to fit it all in.

Somehow I think Sy-Lynn will be sharing it on Instagram if it's that epic!

We shall see... I think she's keeping it all hush-hush for a bit.

It'll probably wipe her out if she's at any of the hospitals I've been with Fran as a patient.

YAY!!! Mine is the 8th!

I keep forgetting that you and Fran share a birthday. Happy early Birthday, but I shouldn't forget!

And in reality I may not be able to fit it all in.

You never can at Disney, you never can.

We shall see... I think she's keeping it all hush-hush for a bit.

Well I'll be waiting and monitoring the DIS and FB.....

The sensible in me says, "Head out quickly after some CS, and get to bed!" The crazed Disney Fanatic in me says, "Puh-leeeze, sleep is for the weak! Find a TS at some far flung place for a very late nigh dinner after closing down the park!" Being that I'm writing this well past my lamo bedtime on a Friday after a long work week, I'm guessing my tired old self will end up closer to AKL area (maybe Jiko?) for a nice-ish dinner and a semi-early bedtime. Given that I have an earlier than RD morning the next day, that seems the wisest choice.
Let's be honest... we don't go to Disney World to make the "wisest choice."

Although, I'm sure whatever decision you arrive at, it will be an enjoyable meal and evening.

I think others in the group are doing a dessert party at MK, but since it was a bit on the spendy side to add these days on the front end on such short notice, I'm not doing any extras like that. And I'm okay with that.
Definitely makes sense... the extras are called extras for a reason. Not at all necessary to enjoy yourself and have a good time.

I'd imagine. But with experience comes wisdom.

YAY!! Birthday twins! Tell Fran Happy Birthday from me as well!

You never can at Disney, you never can.

Which is why it keeps being a great vacation destination.

Well I'll be waiting and monitoring the DIS and FB.....

:) Getting ready to head to the airport now!

True. Very true.

I ended up going with Jiko, but made the reservation with Open Table so won't get dinged if I boge out.

For sure! And I'm starting this trip out a bit on the deficit side of sleep so an early couple of nights might be a good idea.
