Seems everybody is asking about daybeds. So I hope this helps.
First and Foremost: There are two types of daybeds. One will not sleep an adult comfortably (unless it's a really small adult). One will sleep everybody comfortably. As I've said before, there is no way for me or anybody at the front desk to tell which room has which daybed. "Most" of the club level rooms with daybeds have the larger daybed, not the smaller one. This paragraph pertains to the Beach Club. I was told that there are more of the newer larger daybeds at the Beach Club than the Yacht Club but I do not know this for sure. I rarely work over at the Yacht Club and therefore I've only been in a few of the rooms since the rehab.
Club Level - Beach Club: You can only book a club level standard/garden view if you are a party of five or a deluxe room. You cannot book a party of five in a club level water view. Only half of the club level standard/garden view rooms sleep five (have a daybed). All the deluxe rooms sleep five (have a daybed). There are a "few" waterview club level rooms that have daybeds but because there are so few, you cannot book that category if you are a party of five. If you have four people in your party and book a CL waterview, you can certainly request a daybed but it is not guaranteed of course. I don't spend much time over at the YC but I believe the same goes for over there.
Regular Rooms - Both Water View and Standard View - Not Club Level: If you are a party of five, you will get a room with two queens and a daybed but there is no way to know which daybed you will get. Asking at the front desk or requesting the bigger daybed isn't going to do anything at all because there is no way for us to know which type is in which room. We can only tell you there is a daybed in it. The only way to know which daybed is in which room is to physically go into that room and look at the daybed. Worse case scenario is you get a room with the smaller daybed and the person sleeping in it is not comfortable, then you call the front desk and tell them it is too small and ask to have a rollaway sent to your room. The rollaways stand upright when not in use so they don't take up alot of extra space in the room. I've been told they are more comfortable than the smaller daybeds.
If you are booking any room and are a party of three or four and want a room with a daybed in it, you can certainly request one. However, keep in mind, parties of five are going to get those rooms before you will get one. If there are any left over, you might get it if you have that request on your reservation. If you have four people in a room and they don't want to sleep together in a queen bed and you get a room without a daybed, you can request to have a rollaway be sent to the room. However, since you are not a party of five, they may charge you for the rollaway.
Hope this helps. I know everybody would like to have exactly what they want, i.e. full balcony, nice view, a daybed, close to the lobby, etc. And its very hard to not know what you are getting ... you are all planning nuts like I am and I always want to know everything will be perfect. Unfortunately, although we do everything we can to make you have a wonderful stay, we can't meet all requests. I strongly suggest if the bedding, view, etc. is that important to you, then you should consider booking what you want. For example, if you are a party of four but definitely want a daybed and a nice view and it will make or break your vacation if you don't get it, one way to get everything you want is to book a deluxe room. Yep, they cost more but that's going to be the only way you can be guaranteed you are going to get a nice view with a daybed. However, I've found that in lots of cases, guests keep the drapes closed and thus they never really look out the window ... they are only in the room to sleep and shower and change clothes and who is looking at the view then? One time when we took my daughter (age 22 at the time) on a cruise and booked a junior suite because I wanted extra room and to make the cruise extra special, well, she's tall and she had to sleep with part of her legs and feet hanging off the "daybed" because it was so small. She still slept fine mainly because she was exhausted from running around at the different ports all day and although I was upset at first because come on, she's 5'9", not 6'9" so shouldn't the daybed be bigger, it really wasn't that big of a deal to her and she was the one sleeping on it. So it ended up being a super cruise afterall, even though the daybed didn't fit her. Guess what I'm trying to say is I hope not getting the exact room you all want isn't going to ruin your vacation. Honestly, we do try, but we are an extremely popular resort and when the resort is so full, there just aren't enough rooms there that meet everybody's requests all the time.
