Teena - i was just reading your comment about the maps at disneyzone.net and I wondering if the labels on the 5th floor rooms are correct? I was thinking of requesting either 5148,50,52,54 (overlooking the gazebo), or 5195,97,99 hoping for a partial view of SAB. We are booked for standard view but really hoping not be overlooking the front entrance. What would your advice be? Are these room numbers even correct??

Thanks so much!!! See you in 25 days!!!!! :cool1:

I would like to see a pic of the daybed at the Beach Club or Yacht Club. Could someone post a pic please?

Me too. At the risk of sounding stupid I have to ask" is a day bed a sofabed?"
I'm not sure or is it one of those beds that hids under the other bed? Honestly I'm not really daft or stupid (at least I don't think so:rotfl:) but I'm just not sure what it is!

if you go over to the resort photo board and click on the link for yacht club/beach club there are pics. Try page 52 and 53. :)

Is there a day bed in the YC CL garden view rooms? We will be there in May and it would be great if there was so my kids don't fight both being in one bed.

Some rooms gv CL at BC have daybeds - we had one. Some don't - the other three rooms in our grand gathering didn't have daybeds. Those rooms only had 4 people in them, we had 5. One of our rooms really needed another bed - so we just asked for a rollaway and they brought it right away. They folded it up in the day and there was plenty of room.

It's my understanding that most LV CL rooms at BC do not have daybeds. That is why they won't let a family of 5 book a LV CL room.

Thank you for thinking or me, would love the shamrock wreath - with sons named Sean and Connor....

Have a great trip! Safe travels

Rebecca

I think I beat you with the Irish names! Ryan, Kevin, Tim and Owen! LOL!

Thinking of BCV23 and hoping she is having a wonderful time!

TEENA - I forgot to mention that we are a party of 5, so we need a daybed room. Which might be a problem since some of these rooms might not even have daybeds??? :confused3

Not Teena, but just wanted to say that we had a really nice GV CL room with a daybed overlooking the courtyard with the volleyball area.

HTH.

Why didn't anyone warn me that having a 3rd child would complicate my Disney plans so much???? :lmao:
Seriously though, it is frustrating that travel is so much harder for a family of 5. Our August trip will likely be the last one where my youngest doesn't "count" so we're staying in a one-bedroom villa (he'll be 2 in May). Not that I'm offering to give away my little guy or anything! ;) It does limit where you can stay.

Thanks so much for answering, Teena! That is how I supposed it worked. Big relief. :-) (I put the bedspread in the closet and housekeeping seems to understand we don't want to use it.)

The bed sheets are stripped when a guest checks out and a new guest checks in ... even if the guest had new sheets the night before - you definitely are suppose to get new sheets. And you can request new sheets every day while you are there if you want. A housekeeping manager told me this. I did find out (and I did not know this) that the bedspreads are not changed with every new guest. I subsequently asked a housekeeping manager in Vegas at four different high end resorts ... I wanted to see if Disney was different than the rest of the industry ... and none of those resorts changed the bedspreads every time a new guest checks into a room. They, like Disney, change them on a schedule which I can't remember what it is ... something like every few weeks. However, if that bothers you (I just throw the bedspread on the floor and don't use it when I sleep), you can call housekeeping (call on the phone from your room - do not speak to your own housekeeper) on the day you arrive and ask for a new bedspread.

Hope this helps.

No kidding! This is one of the reasons we're moving back to BC after several stays at WL! Three boys, and the youngest is an official Disney "3-9 child."

I think this will be one of our last trips squeezing into regular rooms, unfortunately. A second bathroom is going to be needed so off we go to the villas.

I forgot that WL only allows 4 in a room.

I know what you mean! We're doing BCV for the washer and dryer (we had a vomiting incident on our last Disney trip which mandated laundry so I'd prefer to have it in my room this time) as well as the kitchen but I suspect our next trip will be a 2 bedroom villa. Maybe we'll convince a grandparent (or 2!) to tag along and help justify the extra cost! We've been debating DVC but we got a 40% PIN this trip and FD on the last one which helps my DH argue against DVC...

Hey there Rebecca, Good to see you back here again. Hope all is well with you and your family.:flower3:

:wave2: We are doing well. Life still hectic, but slowing down.

Hope you are well too. Your BLT grad. trip will be here before you know it! BLT - btw great second choice to BC!

We had a great YC CL garden view room with a daybed. Love those daybeds.

Very Good, my Sean was almost a Ryan :thumbsup2

Well, they have one bedroom suites (sleeps 3 - king and a daybed) and two bedroom suites (sleeps 7 - two queens, one king and a daybed) on the first floor ... they give you club level access and amenities. With the deluxe room and these suites I just described, there is no guarantee you would get the first floor but you can certainly request the first floor.

1606 is a quiet room, not much foot traffic past the room and it's a huge room - much larger than the normal rooms! So is 2606, 3606 and 4606. The rooms face the little courtyard between the BC and the BCV. It's not too far from the lobby/elevators.
Honestly, all of the first floor standard view rooms have decent views ... no roofs or parking lots ... pathways, gardens, courtyards and trees mostly.

Teena: Rm 1606 sounds wonderful. But we are a party of 5. Does it have a daybed? I would love to request it
or something near it.

Any other suggestions??

Thanks!
Robin :)

It had a daybed the last time I was in it. If you are a party of five, they will put you in a room that sleeps five.

Seems everybody is asking about daybeds. So I hope this helps.

First and Foremost: There are two types of daybeds. One will not sleep an adult comfortably (unless it's a really small adult). One will sleep everybody comfortably. As I've said before, there is no way for me or anybody at the front desk to tell which room has which daybed. "Most" of the club level rooms with daybeds have the larger daybed, not the smaller one. This paragraph pertains to the Beach Club. I was told that there are more of the newer larger daybeds at the Beach Club than the Yacht Club but I do not know this for sure. I rarely work over at the Yacht Club and therefore I've only been in a few of the rooms since the rehab.

Club Level - Beach Club: You can only book a club level standard/garden view if you are a party of five or a deluxe room. You cannot book a party of five in a club level water view. Only half of the club level standard/garden view rooms sleep five (have a daybed). All the deluxe rooms sleep five (have a daybed). There are a "few" waterview club level rooms that have daybeds but because there are so few, you cannot book that category if you are a party of five. If you have four people in your party and book a CL waterview, you can certainly request a daybed but it is not guaranteed of course. I don't spend much time over at the YC but I believe the same goes for over there.

Regular Rooms - Both Water View and Standard View - Not Club Level: If you are a party of five, you will get a room with two queens and a daybed but there is no way to know which daybed you will get. Asking at the front desk or requesting the bigger daybed isn't going to do anything at all because there is no way for us to know which type is in which room. We can only tell you there is a daybed in it. The only way to know which daybed is in which room is to physically go into that room and look at the daybed. Worse case scenario is you get a room with the smaller daybed and the person sleeping in it is not comfortable, then you call the front desk and tell them it is too small and ask to have a rollaway sent to your room. The rollaways stand upright when not in use so they don't take up alot of extra space in the room. I've been told they are more comfortable than the smaller daybeds.

If you are booking any room and are a party of three or four and want a room with a daybed in it, you can certainly request one. However, keep in mind, parties of five are going to get those rooms before you will get one. If there are any left over, you might get it if you have that request on your reservation. If you have four people in a room and they don't want to sleep together in a queen bed and you get a room without a daybed, you can request to have a rollaway be sent to the room. However, since you are not a party of five, they may charge you for the rollaway.

Hope this helps. I know everybody would like to have exactly what they want, i.e. full balcony, nice view, a daybed, close to the lobby, etc. And its very hard to not know what you are getting ... you are all planning nuts like I am and I always want to know everything will be perfect. Unfortunately, although we do everything we can to make you have a wonderful stay, we can't meet all requests. I strongly suggest if the bedding, view, etc. is that important to you, then you should consider booking what you want. For example, if you are a party of four but definitely want a daybed and a nice view and it will make or break your vacation if you don't get it, one way to get everything you want is to book a deluxe room. Yep, they cost more but that's going to be the only way you can be guaranteed you are going to get a nice view with a daybed. However, I've found that in lots of cases, guests keep the drapes closed and thus they never really look out the window ... they are only in the room to sleep and shower and change clothes and who is looking at the view then? One time when we took my daughter (age 22 at the time) on a cruise and booked a junior suite because I wanted extra room and to make the cruise extra special, well, she's tall and she had to sleep with part of her legs and feet hanging off the "daybed" because it was so small. She still slept fine mainly because she was exhausted from running around at the different ports all day and although I was upset at first because come on, she's 5'9", not 6'9" so shouldn't the daybed be bigger, it really wasn't that big of a deal to her and she was the one sleeping on it. So it ended up being a super cruise afterall, even though the daybed didn't fit her. Guess what I'm trying to say is I hope not getting the exact room you all want isn't going to ruin your vacation. Honestly, we do try, but we are an extremely popular resort and when the resort is so full, there just aren't enough rooms there that meet everybody's requests all the time.

Our lovely friend BCV23 is on her way. Have a wonderful time.
:woohoo::yay::woohoo::yay::woohoo:

She's here!!! She checked in right before I left for the day. Unfortunately because of arrival numbers, I'm needed more on Thursday than Monday so I won't get to talk to her again tomorrow. What a wonderful lady she is!!!!

Here is a question, probably been asked a million times before so I apologise in advance but Yacht Club vs Beach Club? I've stayed at the BC before and it was magical, went to see my travel agent yesterday and I've now planned the most ridiculous trip for this August/September which ends at WDW. Initially I had thought we'd stay at the Dolphin but then the Yacht and Beach was brought up. If I've stayed at BC before should I be 'adventurous' and go to YC or stick with what I know?

They are the same except for colors mainly. I call the YC the "dark side" but both are very nice and have the same managers and cast members and share all the same amenities, etc.
