Okay, I'll briefly talk about our honeymoon (and I guess that is why I want this WDW trip to go so smoothly because it was our last big trip together!)
We got married in Las Vegas, spent three days, then flew back to Boston before we flew out to Mexico. Over the skies of Boston before we landed, we almost collided with another plane that was ascending and there were emergency crews waiting for us when we arrived (no one was hurt). We flew out to Mexico the next day and the skies were pretty dark when we arrived (this was mid May) so I figured it was going to rain. Well, a Tropical Storm went through (a slow moving one) and it rained for six out of seven days that we were there. We barely left our hotel room, which, normally is nothing new for honeymooners, except the fact that we both became ill on day three. The hotel claimed they purified the water we ate and drank including ice cubes, and no one else was getting sick so it may have been something from the plane. One of the days we were ill, we managed to go to a craft area and painted a beautiful ceramic plate together that we were going to mount when we got home (more on this in a few). On the last day of our trip, the sun came out and we did get a beautiful day at Chichen Itza. Our departure day, we were finally over our illness, and we walked over to check out. I tripped on the cement and severely sprained my ankle and was carried to the check out in a golf cart. It was such a bumpy ride that our beautiful plate that we had worked so hard on broke into pieces. They upgraded us to a limo to go to the airport and on our way to the airport, we got into a car accident. We miraculously made it in time and were allowed in quickly because I was in a wheelchair. And then we amazingly had a smooth flight on the way home and we are living happily ever after (but during this time, I kept asking, is someone trying to tell us something here? )![]()
There are a ton more little instances, but it would take a long time to list them all! At first I was so disappointed, but the more I told the story, the more I realized there are not many people who can tell stories about this from their honeymoon! Hope you all enjoyed my crazy story and hopefully my first trip to POFQ will include NONE of these events![]()
I sure enjoyed your story. We had a similar experience when we went to Aculpulco for our honeymoon 28 years ago (May). We had good weather, but we were so sick the entire trip. Many other little things happened with our honeymoon too. Then my daughter and our whole family had the tropical depression when they were in Mexico getting married this past May (on our anniversary). Maybe May isn't the month to go to Mexico!!! I wish you a happy life (we've lasted quite a few years since that trip) and I also wish you lots of wonderful trips to come!
I only made it through 10. Plus, this thread started in 2003 and things may have changed by now.
Always trying to miss those crowds! I find the disboards so valuable as I want to know everything to make sure that we don't miss out on anything on our trip.

Thanks, and those of you leaving soon, have a great trip and can't wait to hear about it when you get back
