That's the first time we had to wear a poncho in Disney! A Mar./April '11 TR DONE 9/5

Looks like you had a good time in Epcot, no eating? Did you go to the Werther's caramel shop? And what did you get?

I must be the only one who finds the friendship boats annoying:confused3 I just think it is a super slow boat, really slow.......

It will be interesting to see if I change my mind in Sept when we stay at the Dolphin.

When are you going this Fall? Our trip is anything but Solo!:rotfl:

Yay for the tour! The William and Kate mugs are new to me haha. I haven't been to Epcot since I moved back but I know I will be there plenty of times once Food and Wine starts!

Have I mentioned how incredibly jealous I am that you live in FL and can just go to WDW whenever you want? That must be awesome.

Okay, I think this has been mentioned a few times but the building in the back of the Canada pavilion looks so much like Hogwarts castle. I mean, they do still have a better replica at WWOHP, of course, but I can still see that Hogwarts in it. :confused3

I've walked by those Red Phone Booths a few times in the UK Pavilion and there always is a line to get pictures in those, it's insane and you do know those phones actually can work, right? I find that extremely freaky because the story I heard about a phone call over them is just plain sketchy. Moving on... that's awesome you found Harry Potter stuff in the UK Pavilion! I'm sorta interested in reading Tales of Beedle the Bard, but I must read the series over again because one of the stories is mentioned in HP7 so no need for that book. (: And I'm surprised Universal hasn't made Disney take that merchandise away with WWOHP there. :/

I really got to try one of those Kim Possible Missions next time, knowing my friends. I love the pictures you took along the way especially the one of the Beauty & the Beast topiaries, those may possibly be my favorites from the F&G Festival. I also may have to save the KP Mission Hint picture for my next trip hehehehe And sorry you didn't fulfill your mission of getting a photo of yourself at each pavilion, always next trip :thumbsup2

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

I hope I'm not spoiling anything but part of the lines at the phone booth now might have to do with the KP missions! You should do one of them. Even though they're designed for kids they're still fun (and I'm 26!).

Great update, love the pictures from around the world. :thumbsup2

That building is actually modeled after a hotel in Ottawa (our capital).

The Chateau Laurier

Thanks. And thanks for the pictures of the hotel. Very cool.

Phew. All caught up! I almost hate leaving the boards for a week because then I have so much to catch up on :rotfl: Great updates. I am SO glad the sun finally came out. WS was starting to look pretty crowded in that last pic. I'm very excited to hear details of your next trip.

haha, I know what you mean but I'd rather be in Disney World than just reading about it! I'm debating starting a new PTR now but I'm really trying to wait until I finish this one. Not much more to go now.

I'm a huge Harry Potter fan, and I have to admit I never read the tales of Beedle the Bard either. :rolleyes1

I love how everyone got so into the wedding of William and Kate. It even made its way to WDW.

They also have those other two mini books (a magical creatures one and something else I think) that I have never read. I know we have them around the house somewhere.

I honestly couldn't have cared less about the Royal Wedding until it actually happened. I can see why people people were so hyped up about it.

Great pictures from WS! Love the idea to take a picture in each pavilion, might have to borrow that! :thumbsup2

Those Pook A Looz are so cute, I'm definitely getting a few on my next trip! And they have some really cute mugs in the UK shops!

Can't wait to try a KP mission! They sound like so much fun!

If they still have the Figment PAL I am definitely getting that one. Not that I need a stuffed animal but Figment is awesome.

The KP missions are great. Hope you get to try one.

Again, such nice photos! I really enjoyed the World Showcase. Someday, I want to just spend the whole day touring it, with no interuptions ( that means NO kiddos who find it boring:laughing:)

I was one of those kids who thought WS was boring. Now that I'm older I definitely appreciate it a lot more. I'd love to go again during the holidays and take in all the storytellers and stuff.

I love all of the pictures you took around Canada! I've never explored that pavilion at all, it looks so pretty.
The Pook A Looz stuffed animals are so cute. I've managed to avoid them though too somehow because the last thing I need right now is more stuffed animals. I need to be getting rid of some instead, the ones I have right now already take over half of my bed:rotfl:

The Canada pavilion is really nice, especially that big garden! I hear ya on the stuffed animals. A few years ago I went through a stretch when I would get a new one each trip. Atleast they might be fun to put in my future classroom!

Its a quick read. You could probably do it in a night. It was ok.

Too bad you didn't get a photo at each pavilion, thats a good idea!

I am going to have to read that book sometime. I'm sure it would be an easy read.

It's OK. I'll have to do it next time!

You took some great pictures on your boat ride to the Boardwalk! :thumbsup2

Taking a picture of yourself in every country is a great idea! I think I'll force the kids to do that next time!

Those William & Kate mugs are cute, but I wouldn't purchase one. I wonder if someone has sent one to them? :surfweb: I can just picture it in their Royal China Cabinet...right?

Thanks!

haha, who knows, maybe your kids would think it's a good idea too!

I think they had some other Royal Wedding stuff too which was kind of funny. But I guess it's no different than the China pavilion having Olympic stuff when they were in Beijing.

OOOOHHHH... Yeah, that building looks a lot like this hotel. ::yes:: Thanks Lessa! (:

Sorta makes me want to visit the REAL Canada!

No, we didn't really get anything to eat. I think we were still full from our cupcake. Sadly we didn't get anything from the caramel shop. We did go in there and everything looked so good. Just another thing to add to the list for next time!

They are slow but because it was so nice out I didn't mind just sitting outside and enjoying the weather.

From the looks of your ticker, sadly I won't be there at the same time as you. I'm going later. If I happen to see you later today at the VB event, I'll tell ya. ;)

Friday, April 1, 2011 cont'd (part 5)

After completing the KP mission in France, we continued our tour of the world by stopping in Morocco. I have to say that Morocco is not one of my favorite pavilions but since we had our goal of getting pictures in each country (even though I had already failed...), I decided we should take some more time to explore it. Our first sign of being in Morocco was the Aladdin topiary. It's funny how many of the topiaries are "recycled" from year to year.

263989_763372089254_20305212_38796172_2195850_n.jpg

Usually we just sort of walk past but it was neat to see some of the details as we entered the pavilion. It looks like Claire and I got a similar picture of the tower. haha

I have to say, I thought the architecture of the pavilion was cool with the previously mentioned tower and then this archway. I decided that would be the backdrop of my Morocco picture. Like I said, the older I get, the more I appreciate the countries in World Showcase.

Claire got this random flower picture. We seem to have a lot of those but I guess that's what happens when you go during the Flower and Garden Festival!

Our next stop was Japan.
208786_740964254734_20306951_38443649_3100496_n.jpg

When we got there, I noticed there was a crowd gathered around the big store. We walked over to see what was going on, and I was so excited when I realized it was the candy lady! I think I first heard about her on that one Samantha Brown special and have wanted to see her ever since.
264266_763372293844_20305212_38796181_7759792_n.jpg

I tried to get closer so I could actually see but like I said, it was pretty crowded and people kept moving in front of me. I think when I go visit my sister I'll have to find out the times so I can plan on getting a good spot. So instead we continued exploring the rest of the area.

One of my favorite spots in Japan is the little pond with the fish. So pretty (and as we learned last year, it's also a stopping point for the KP mission ;)).

We kept trucking along until we had almost finished our trip around the world.

The American Adventure.

I still can't believe we didn't get anything from the caramel shop. When we walked through everything looked (and smelled) so good. I'll take any suggestions from anyone for what I should try next time!

Oh, and as a random side note, can you tell which pictures are mine and which ones are Claire's? I'll give you a hint: mine are the ones with the blurry spot on them. I don't know if I accidentally touched the lens or what but it kind of bugs me.

up next: Finishing up our world tour and saying good-bye to Epcot

I've never noticed that palm tree near Morocco. It's a gorgeous picture though. I love the framing in your Aladdin topiary with the golf ball in the background. Very nice :thumbsup2 My suggestion for the caramel shop is the caramel apple or the strawberries. Both are A-mazing!!!

:laughing:I seen the blurry spot, and thought someone touched the lens!

I haven't seen the candy lady either, but I've heard she makes amazing creations.

I see you doing better on getting yor pic done in the countries!:thumbsup2

I totally agree about the world showcase being more appreciated as you get older. When i was younger (when i was a baby up to my junior year of high school). I absolutely LOVE mijuki! She is like a celebirty in my family. we always go to see her show on our trips. She is only there a couple of days a week though.

It makes me feel a little old that I still remember seeing the mugs from the last royal wedding years and years ago at EPCOT, although they were not brand-new at the time.

Morocco is such a great pavillion to explore. I'm glad to hear you got to see some more of it on this trip.

Oh, and as a random side note, can you tell which pictures are mine and which ones are Claire's? I'll give you a hint: mine are the ones with the blurry spot on them. I don't know if I accidentally touched the lens or what but it kind of bugs me.

I saw that and thought you had a paranormal visitor with you! :rotfl:

I love Rapunzel in Germany! Is that behind the train? So cute!

I was wondering about the blurry spot on the pictures! lol

I've never seen the candy lady but I've seen videos and what she does is really cool

I still can't get over what a gorgeous day that was. You'd never guess it had been raining your whole trip.

I love taking the Friendship boat and sitting outside in the back. Great views from back there.

At the caramel store, I recommend the Chewy Caramel Bar, unless your next trip falls during my next trip, in which case I recommend the Caramel Pecan Bar, so that there are still some Chewy Caramel Bars left for me.

I was curious about what that blurry spot was from LOL Don't be too upset about it, I'm pretty sure I've done that before, especially on my phone camera (:

That aside, I still love your pictures from World Showcase. The one of the random flower is my favorite, since you can see the F&G sign in the background and SE. I could definitely seeing it being used for an add :thumbsup2 And I totally agree about as you get older, you enjoy it more. Even with months in between two trips, I felt I appreciated the place more, it really is a fantastic place and there's so much to do you just got to take your time (:

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

You even have the same people in the Morocco picture, that is funny!
I love all the topiaries for the flower and garden festival, do you really think they keep the same ones each year?

So nice seeing you, and guess what? WE WON:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:, my sister said she would share some items, the lady who called said it was the grand prize! Neither one of us really remembers what was it the package, maybe it was because we were on a mission to get the cupcake:rotfl:.
They were sooooo good, did you have one?

State Fair tomorrow, have you had the time to go?

Love your WS pics! I think Morocco is one of the prettiest, if not the prettiest, pavilions.

I still haven't seen the American Adventure! I'm 0 for 3 on my past trips when I've planned to go see it  The timing is just never right!

Oh that is so neat you saw the candy lady, at least for a few seconds! I've watched some videos of her on Youtube, it's amazing what she can do.

I agree the Lady topiary is definitely one of the best! Whatever plant they used for her ears is just perfect.

Hahah I'm glad you explained the blurry spots, I was wondering what they were!

I love the Morocco pavilion. It's usually pretty quiet and I adore the architecture and design there. Plus, Tangierine Cafe is the best CS meal in Epcot as far I'm convinced! :thumbsup2

When you go the caramel shop, you MUST try the caramel corn. But wait for them to make a fresh batch. It's unbelievable when it's hot and fresh. You'll never eat pre-packaged caramel corn again.

I also really loved the caramel and dark chocolate covered apple!

I'm all caught up. Nice updates :thumbsup2

I remember seeing the wedding mugs on your Facebook and we were hoping to get one on our trip but they had sold out so a lot of people must have had wedding fever.

Cute pics all around World Showcase! :)

Great update! Your pictures are so good ... what a beautiful day!! I did the whole smudge something on the lens on one of our trips...still not sure how it happened:confused3

Thanks! I'll pretend I took that picture on purpose. ;)

The caramel apple sounds good!

:laughing:I seen the blurry spot, and thought someone touched the lens!

I haven't seen the candy lady either, but I've heard she makes amazing creations.

I see you doing better on getting yor pic done in the countries!:thumbsup2

Yeah, I don't know if it was me or my sister since she was the one taking the pictures when I was in them. So mad about it. Oh well.

I totally agree about the world showcase being more appreciated as you get older. When i was younger (when i was a baby up to my junior year of high school). I absolutely LOVE mijuki! She is like a celebirty in my family. we always go to see her show on our trips. She is only there a couple of days a week though.

When I was younger I hated WS. I think my attitude started changing though once I did one of those passports. That was really cool getting the stamp in each country and having a CM write a little message.

It makes me feel a little old that I still remember seeing the mugs from the last royal wedding years and years ago at EPCOT, although they were not brand-new at the time.

Morocco is such a great pavillion to explore. I'm glad to hear you got to see some more of it on this trip.

haha, really?

I still don't think we saw all that much of it but it was definitely more than we have in the past.

I saw that and thought you had a paranormal visitor with you! :rotfl:

I love Rapunzel in Germany! Is that behind the train? So cute!

Hmm, maybe it was a ghost or something. LOL.

Oh gosh, now I can't even remember where the Rapunzel tower was. I think it was near the train.

I was wondering about the blurry spot on the pictures! lol

I've never seen the candy lady but I've seen videos and what she does is really cool

Now I'm glad I explained the blurry spot since everyone seems to be noticing them! It's hard not to though. :sad2: Oh well.

I agree, the candy lady is awesome. Hopefully I'll get to see more of the show on my next trip.

I still can't get over what a gorgeous day that was. You'd never guess it had been raining your whole trip.

I know, it was so nice outside that day. Perfect weather if you ask me!

Ooh, what is a chewy caramel bar? That sounds good. And the good news is, from looking at your ticker I won't be there when you are so there will be chewy caramel bars for you. haha

I was curious about what that blurry spot was from LOL Don't be too upset about it, I'm pretty sure I've done that before, especially on my phone camera (:

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

It's kind of frustrating since I usually like to print out a few pictures from each trip but hey, there's always next time to do redos. Glad you still liked them though.

I think they might reuse the frames or something because I know we've seen the same topiaries on different trips. Here's Aladdin from last year:

28349_641435885384_20305212_36917354_716904_n.jpg

It was nice seeing you too and that is awesome you won! I'm trying to remember what the grand prize even was. Very cool though. Sadly I didn't get a cupcake. I think they were all gone. :(

Have fun at the fair...we went last Sunday. Brewer game for us today!

Love your WS pics! I think Morocco is one of the prettiest, if not the prettiest, pavilions.

I still haven't seen the American Adventure! I'm 0 for 3 on my past trips when I've planned to go see it  The timing is just never right!

Morocco is very pretty. I really liked the tile fountain, which was where my sister had her Morocco picture taken.

The American Adventure show is good. It's an emotional show. Hope you get to see it soon!

Even the little bit I saw in person (and on the TV show) was amazing. And I can't believe how there's so few people who know how to do it.

I agree about the architecture!

Mmm, I know I would like the caramel corn. Maybe I'll have to try that. Do they sell it in packages too?

I'm all caught up. Nice updates :thumbsup2

I remember seeing the wedding mugs on your Facebook and we were hoping to get one on our trip but they had sold out so a lot of people must have had wedding fever.

Cute pics all around World Showcase! :)

Thanks. Yup, I posted that picture since everyone was talking about the Royal Wedding...I figured I might as well contribute too. haha

Great update! Your pictures are so good ... what a beautiful day!! I did the whole smudge something on the lens on one of our trips...still not sure how it happened:confused3

Thanks. That is one thing I really like about my camera. It generally does take really good pictures. I love how vibrant the colors are.
