That's the first time we had to wear a poncho in Disney! A Mar./April '11 TR DONE 9/5

Getting a cupcake from Starring Rolls is on my list of things to do too, hopefully I can mark it off in October - they look sooooo good!!

Love your Mike & Sully picture! That magazine cover is hilarious. Poor Mike! I love the different ways they cover up his face:rotfl:

And oh my gosh that cupcake really must have been huge. I can see how that could easily feed 3 people, it looks very yummy though.

Oooh a solo adventure sounds like an interesting experience!

Cute Mike & Sully picture :)

I tried Starring Rolls for the first time last trip and it was alright. I got the marble cupcake and it must have been refrigerated or something because it was so cold! I will go back so I can try the Butterfinger though!

Just catching up with your TR after a vacation, not WDW.

Love seeing the sun in your DHS pictures, so happy it came out for your last full day. You look like you really were able to do a lot at the studios. No drawing on this day?

If you go back to starring rolls you should try their sandwiches, basically a huge focaccia with yummy filling. We had a turkey sandwich, and purchased an extra croissant. We were then able to split the turkey and fillings into two sandwiches. Huge, even when you share. And I think it was pretty reasonable too.

I did get an announcement for the 11th, hope I can stop by......

Can't wait to hear about you upcoming trips. Hope it works out well for you. I don't really travel to Disney alone, but did spend a lot of time alone when I went to DL and DCA last summer. (DH was really into the fan fest for the All Star weekend) It wasn't strange at all, and actually kinda fun. It helped that the hotel was right on property, so it was super easy to get to the parks quickly. Plus you will have your DS to meet up with when she is free.

Too funny about listening to Harry Potter while at WDW. Congrats on finishing up Summer school, hope you have some time to re charge prior to returning to school in a few weeks.

Hi everyone!

Since we're getting close to the end of this TR, I thought I'd update on our next potential trips. First, I am one step closer to getting to visit my sister once she starts the college program!! A few of you might have seen my post on facebook but I went ahead and booked a room for a long weekend trip. I'm not going to reveal all the details since I'm still talking to my dad about a few things but I will say these three things:

1.) It will NOT be in December (sadly, after talking to Dad, aka manager of the DVC points, we ended up cancelling that reservation :sad2:).

2.) I will (most likely) NOT be staying at a DVC resort. :scared1:

3.) This will most likely be my first solo adventure!

The good news about cancelling the December reservation is that it freed up some Vacation Club points and we are probably going to use those for a spring break trip! (YAY Flower and Garden Festival!:flower1:).

Wow, that's a lot of most likelys/probablys. LOL. Once I wrap up this trip report, I'll share more. :thumbsup2 popcorn::

Sarah makes me sound like some kind of evil DVC points miser.

I'm just having to be a little careful with our points this year because we have so many short trips scheduled in the next 5 months relating to Sarah's sister's DCP adventure. Those points will go farther if we avoid the busy holiday periods that require significantly more points per night. We've already borrowed some points from our next year, and I don't want to do too much of that.

The reason that Sarah might not be staying at a DVC resort in October is because, by the time she asked me to try to book the nights she wanted, one of the nights was unavailable (probably due to Halloween and the Food and Wine Festival). But, she is on a wait list and could still get the DVC reservation.

I think a short solo trip could be a lot of fun. You do what you want without having to worry about anyone else. Plus, it's easy to strike up converstaions with people in lines to give you some company. I might have some solo time in the parks when we take our daughter to start the DCP in a few weeks. Although my wife will be with me, she isn't that crazy about the hot weather (and isn't quite the Disney fanatic the rest of us are) so I may take advantage of my annual pass to spend a few hours in the parks doing things that I like, even if it's sitting on a rocking chair watching the crowds go by.

Wow! I can't believe, either, how dark it was on your Chef Mickey morning. That is crazy and I bet it was eerie to be out in that.

Looks like I'm catching back up just in time for the close of this one...can't wait to hear more of your plans for your upcoming trips. :woohoo:

WHOA, I can't believe how dark it was when you were at the Contemporary! You'd think that was the middle of the night and not time for breakfast! I wonder how weird that looks while in the parks!

Not only are little kids braver than we are, they also sometimes have stronger stomachs and don't get dizzy like we do! Haha, that's what I hear in the back of my mind after I tell myself, "Oh, it can't be that scary if the little kid is riding it." I think you can totally handle M:S green though. You do go on the other thrill rides like ToT and RnR! Those are two that I WON'T do!

Haha, and of course you'd be fine on Sum of All Thrills as long as you designed your own ride, held on to your card, and didn't let anyone bump into you ...

Even though there was no campfire, I like that they still provided the no-bake cookie activity. It could've been much easier to just cancel it and not have a replacement, but I like that they filled it with something! And yay for your bomb diggity cookie! Haha.

Ooo, a solo adventure?!? FUN!

Yum, that cupcake looks delicious! Howard and I decided that we want to try the peanut butter chocolate one ... :D

I know, it was insane. There were EMH that morning at the MK and I highly doubt it was very busy at all.

haha yeah, plus they probably don't think anything bad could happen. It just freaks me out though knowing they have all sorts of warnings before you even get on the ride!

I knew you could come up with the KK reference! ;) I remember you saying too how you want the next book now...I am curious too!

It was fun that they still had some activity going on. I'm glad we decided to go over there. It was better than sitting around moping in our room!

Yup, stay tuned for info on my next trip...

Mmm, peanut butter chocolate! That sounds really good too.

I tried to get the cupcake last week when I was there but it was closed :( I'll have to go earlier next time!!!

I'm sure you'll make it over there sometime to get a cupcake. :)

I love the theming in the Monsters meet-and-greet queue. It had so many great details, but I think the magazine with the barcode over Mike's face is my favorite.

That cupcake looks huge! We've never tried Staring Rolls before. Perhaps we should check it out.

I like the magazine too because it's a nice movie reference.

Yes, you should try Starring Rolls! I'm glad we finally got a chance to try one of the famous cupcakes.

We loved Starring Rolls! I got the butterfinger cupcake too and my DH helped me eat it :rolleyes1(along with his brownie)

I really want to try Pizza Planet, but Sci Fi has won the toss for Sept,

I can't wait to hear about your next trip! Good Luck to your sister!

You have never been to Pizza Planet??? You have to go! The Sci Fi is fun though too. We've always enjoyed it there.

Thanks...can't believe she's leaving in just a couple weeks!

The only time I really miss being with someone is mealtime.
It's a little weird saying 'just one' in the line, but after a few times you can tell the CM's don't think it's weird....they get it all the time, so it's just another party to them. I didn't get any weird or pitying looks.

Wow that cupcake is massive!

That's true. And I'm only going to be there for a couple days. I think it would be different if I was going for a longer period of time.

Getting a cupcake from Starring Rolls is on my list of things to do too, hopefully I can mark it off in October - they look sooooo good!!

When are you going in October?

Love your Mike & Sully picture! That magazine cover is hilarious. Poor Mike! I love the different ways they cover up his face:rotfl:

And oh my gosh that cupcake really must have been huge. I can see how that could easily feed 3 people, it looks very yummy though.

Yes, but atleast Mike doesn't care. He is just happy to be on the cover of a magazine!

It was humungous (sp?). But we still managed to eat it all. It just took us a couple different occasions to do so. haha

I've always thought it would be interesting to do a solo trip. I might be getting my chance now!

Yeah, our cupcake was cold too. I seem to remember the CM taking it out of a refrigerator.

Just catching up with your TR after a vacation, not WDW.

Hope you had a good vacation, even if it wasn't WDW.

haha, no, we didn't do the Animation Academy that morning. Surprising, huh?

The sandwiches sound good. I will have to remember that for next time.

I'm sure it will be insanely busy like it was last year, but I'll be there...

That is true about getting to visit with my sister. I'm also hoping to meet up with a couple DISers too. So we'll see!

Thanks. This summer is flying by and I think a lot of it has to do with being busy with summer school! I'm glad to have a few weeks off now.

Sarah makes me sound like some kind of evil DVC points miser.

haha, an evil point miser. I'm still surprised we have as many reservations as we do.

Are you still thinking about changing your October trip?

Wow! I can't believe, either, how dark it was on your Chef Mickey morning. That is crazy and I bet it was eerie to be out in that.

Looks like I'm catching back up just in time for the close of this one...can't wait to hear more of your plans for your upcoming trips. :woohoo:

It was definitely a bit spooky when it was that dark out. It did lighten up a little later on in the morning but it still was not a nice day at all.

Friday, April 1, 2011 cont'd (part 3)

After eating as much of our delicious Butterfinger cupcake that we could, it was time to say good-bye to Hollywood Studios.

We weren't going to go back to Old Key West quite yet (look at the sunshine!!) so we decided to make one last visit to Epcot. It was a good excuse to take one of the Friendship boats. We were luckily the first people in line at the dock so when the boat arrived we headed straight for the back where we could sit outside. Apparently that was everyone's idea too because not one person went inside until there was no room to sit outside.

One last parting shot of Hollywood Studios. Such a great view.

But really, the whole boat ride to the Epcot resort area is full of wonderful views.

These might be slightly out of order since I'm combining my pictures and Claire's. Passing by the Boardwalk!

Our first stop was the Swan and Dolphin.

Palm trees look so much better in the sunshine. :) This is what every day should be like in Florida!

We continued on our way toward the BC/YC/BW.

Some day I'll get to stay here...I love the Boardwalk!

Arriving at the YC dock.

We ended up getting out at the Boardwalk stop to just stroll around for a while. No sooner did we get off were our outdoor seats taken. Everyone wanted to be outside!

Me in my happy Disney World pose (I find I have quite a few pictures of me with my arms up in the air like this!). Who wouldn't be happy on a sunny day like that, and strolling around the Boardwalk?!

Because most of the entertainment goes on at night, we found a bench to sit on and just people watch for a while. Oh yeah, and finish our gigantic cupcake because it was starting to melt. LOL. While we were sitting there, we saw a small wedding party go by. I tried to take a picture but thought that would be kind of creepy. But WOW, they could not have asked for a more gorgeous day for a wedding! I bet they were glad the weather cleared up. And how awesome would a Disney wedding be? Expensive, but still awesome. :goodvibes

Then it was off to Epcot!

That looks like such a wonderfully lovely day. I want to be there now!

And yes, a Disney Wedding IS awesome... and it doesn't have to be super expensive either... Ours ended up a few thousand less than it would have been here :cutie:

Getting off my soap box now

Love all of the pics you took! It really was a lovely day for beautiful scenery pictures. Cool that you got to see a Disney wedding. It's my dream to have one someday, I think I'd have to skip college though if I were to start saving enough money for one:rotfl:

What a wonderful sunny boat ride!

I love that picture of the studios from the boat!

Nice boat pics :) A girl that I worked with at BBB got married at BW last weekend. Her reception was at Atlantic Dance Hall..I can't tell you how jealous I was sitting at home and watching her random pics pop up on facebook..ugh! If only!! :)

I'm telling you, it just looked beautiful out that day.

I would love to have a Disney wedding myself. That's my dream. :cloud9:

The Butterfinger cupcake is definitely on my list of things to eat at WDW that I have not tried.

Doing a little catching up!:goodvibes Love the updates!!

Glad to hear you enjoyed Chef Mickey's! It's one of our favorites.:thumbsup2 Nick loves their breakfast pizza! But..wow I can't believe how dark it was that morning!:sad2:

Yay! So happy to see some blue skies on your Hollywood Studios day!:thumbsup2 Cute picture with Mike and Sully!:goodvibes Oh and your boat ride pictures are just beautiful!

:woohoo: for your upcoming trips! We decided to head back again next spring for the Flower and Garden Festival too! Can't wait!:yay:

What gorgeous pictures! That the kind of Disney days I want!
The BoardWalk area, is another thing we haven't checked out either. I guess that means we keep going back until I've seen it all!:rotfl2:

Love the Boardwalk. Looks like you had a nice little visit there.

What a gorgeous day!! :cool2: I love the Boardwalk!

Great pictures with Sulley and Mike! LOL @ the Business Shriek Magazine! I didn't notice that one at first. So funny :D

:thumbsup2 to seeing American Idol again. Love that show! That's so cool you got to see a guy perform. I've never EVER seen a guy perform on AIE. Maybe I need to see it more throughout the day. And actually, I've been to one show where the second person actually won and I voted for her. I think the first person is always the worst in my opinion, no comparison to the second two.

Wow, that cupcake is HUGE, but it looks delicious. I must check out Starring Rolls! :goodvibes

Those views on the Friendship Boats are beautiful! I love the one from the Yacht Club dock. And I totally want to stay at the BoardWalk too. It would be pretty awesome to be able to just walk right to EPCOT. :goodvibes

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

Once again, I was quite a few updates behind! Did you ever find out where Mauston is? We actually stop to eat there fairly often on our drives from Illinois to Minnesota. I've never been into the actual town, but there is a restaurant called Flutterbee's that my Mom loves!

I'm SO glad the rain cleared up for you! Beautiful, beautiful palm tree pictures. And the Boardwalk....:lovestruc Love that pic of you with your arms up, so cute!

And HOORAY for booking a room and a solo trip! :yay: They are fantastic - you'll enjoy it! I'm glad it looks like you'll be getting down there while your sister is in her CP. Has she found out exactly where she will be working yet?
