hmmmph...no free DP for DVC, lucky to get offered 1/2 off the goofy looking mickey silver lightup ears and 10% off disneyshopping:lmao:

mic - your ravens are smooshing my steelers...although we came back to within a touch down.

Good Morning Everyone

My mom and stepfather just left. My brother did end up coming down for two days. he ended up getting a ticket for the Skins/Dallas game. So, he drove back Saturday.

Let's see, what did I cook? I made chicken the first night they were all here. Then, Friday we all went to Teds Montana Grill. Sat we went to Outback. Sunday we had brunch at O'Charleys then we had Japanese Food from a place around the corner from my house. My mom likes making breakfast for my kids, so she woke up and made eggs for breakfast everyday except Sunday.

Aside from one minor comment, it was a really pleasent visit. It's hit or miss with my family, so I am really glad this was such a great visit. We haven't had one of those for a while.:thumbsup2

I bought a coffee table and end tables for my house. This is the coffee table http://www.furniturexo.com/Plank-Park-Lift-Top-Cocktail-Table-Ashley-Furniture-T463-9-p-8350.html and these are the side tables http://www.furniturexo.com/Plank-Park-Storage-End-Table-Ashley-Furniture-T463-3-p-8352.html

It works for us since we don't have any storage in our family room and the colors work too.

My kids go back Thursday to school, which is kind of silly, but whatever. It gives me two days free. I am trying to get a painter in here to paint the family room, the kitchen and pressure wash the house. It will be the first time since we bought the house that it will be pressure washed, so we need it desperately. I may try to get my bedroom painted too. I have clay mud brown in my room and I have never liked the color.

Keisha - the I picked the Steelers to win over the Ravens. I was shocked they didn't win. But the Redkins made the palyoffs and that was really exciting to watch!

Mic - was your DH watching the game? I am sure he was thrilled. Nico was beside himself that they won.

Pam - I hope Noah feels better. It sucks when the kids are sick. When do your kids go back to school?

Mac - I agree about the dining plan. I don't think it is nearly as good of a deal as it use to be. Once they took the appitizer and tip out, they should have dropped the price per day at least $5. Dropping it only $1 wasn't great. Have you heard about the delux dining plan? I think it is only worth it if you get everyday to 1 (2-point) restuarant instead of using it at 1-point restuarants twice a day, it may end up being a better deal.

Ed - what games do you have for the Wii? Target had the mario/Sonic Olympics on sale for $37, but I only got a raincheck becuase I got there too late. Nico has backyard football, but that is the only one we have. Which ones are your kids playing?

Gant - I'm glad you got your Secret Santa gift.:thumbsup2

TVT - I hope you feel better. I'm sorry I woke you up this morning. I forgot you were still on TN time. :upsidedow

afternoon all!

I couldn't get on this morning:confused3

ocm--cool tables:thumbsup2 my kids don't go back to school until Monday. Noah is feeling better. The kids(well, noah and aubrey did) last night and my mom called this morning and said that aubrey got sick 3 times last night:eek: So i think we are going to go and pick them up later....we were going to let them stay a few days.

Dave is feeling under the weather so I think we are just going to take it easy tonight.

Trying to get this cruise thing organized...do you know how difficult it is with 12 people and 12 different ideas?!?!?:sad2:

Have a good new year's everyone!!!

pam - cruise? i thought you were going to WDW:) ; even better - hope it's both:goodvibes I haven't left the house since Friday, think i'll become a hermit (hermitress?)

ocm - luv the way you cook:banana: ; haven't been to outback in years-yummy! Agree, you never know how those family visits will transpire, so glad it went well. Beautiful & inventive tables, a transforming coffee table - what will they think of next?

dh is working @ 7 am tomorrow, we're staying in-doubt if he'll see midnight. Going to hold & pork & kraut till tomorrow & make steak/shrimp/salmon w/grilled fresh pineapple; then kill a bottle of lambrusco while we play board games...boring-yet so appealing:cloud9:

have a great evening & very happy new year gang!

Hi friends and Happy New Year's Eve.....been busy today, decided to get the tree put away, which always leads to some other little project, like pulling the vacuum cleaner out :headache: and then dusting this and doing that...anyway, I'm done for the day...odds and ends still need to be done, but there is always next weekend...I plan to enjoy tomorrow's freedom

Yes, the Redskins pulled it out, wonder what they will do now? They are leading their fans on a slippery slope I believe ;) KS, my son is a Steelers fan, so if they lost, he will be  Honestly, I rarely follow football...

Momma, I LOVE those tables, they are awesome. I'm guessing that Ashley Furniture is related to the new store we got in Frederick. I've never been in it. But I do love those tables, really cool and functional. Glad all went well with your family visit, sounds like you had lots of good eats. I gave my gransons Lego Star Wars for their Wii and they love it. I would like to get my dh a Wii, but will wait til all the madness is over trying to find one. They will eventually be cheaper too.

Well from all the advice I'm seeing here, doesn't look like the FDing plan is worth it this year, that is what I was hoping for, but we will see. Disney always messes with stuff that works :confused3 so typical. Our friends that we visited yesterday said they would like us to go to Disney with them next year at Christmas, but I would feel guilty going with their kids and not my own grandkids...:guilty: I still want the quickie Sept. trip to pan out. I'm not pinning my hopes on it...if it does fine, if not fine.

Pam, WHAT cruise? I thought you were just doing Disney? TELL US...no keeping us in the dark.

My son/gf are coming over later and bringing fried chicken I believe...very quiet NYE for us...it is calling for some sleet/snow maybe, so who knows...can't believe 07 is over, I'm just getting used to writing it...;)

I do so want to say though that my friends here have made it an awesome year, and the fact that you lend an ear when I whine or have rotten stuff going on...well, that means the world.......I thank each of you and feel blessed to call each of you friend!! :grouphug: Ok, done being mushy...now where are the drinks???

OH here they are........

Only 3 and 1/2 hours here on the east coast. I hope you all have a wonderful end of the yera and an even better 2008. Coming from a Jersey guy.....youse guys are the best!

i'm finally here.
i am having trouble getting the thread to open.
at times that i can, i'm unable to post.

being the yakker that i am and staying mute the last couple of days is a killer for me.........

sweets, love the new furniture. and yes, paint the bedroom asap.

mic, you say the sweetest things, and then gant comes along and does the same thing.

i have made great and true friends "inside this box" on the dis.
i am so lucky to have found all of you.

someday we have to meet in person.
that is my wish for the new year.

hoping that 2008 will be the best year in your lives.
always look forward to the days ahead. you never know what will happen next.

you all take care and if i don't get back later tonight, see you next year here in the box.

mr mac asleep.
2 sons went out........still snowing so that worries me........1 son in his own little world right now.

i'm waiting for the ball to drop in nye.
but i get to see it at 11...............

Okay, we ARE going to disney this summer. May 24th-May 31st. We are doing the dining plan...not to save money but to have mostly everything paid for before we go. Really i think the DP is pretty much a wash, or aleast I think it will be for us from what I kinda figured out.

The cruise I am talking about isn't until 2009. It is with my parents, sisters, brothers, sil's, and bil's. You know, i didn't know how hard it was to please my family until we started talking about this cruise:confused3 I think we decided on the Bahamas in Jan. That is until the next time we talk about it i'm sure:sad2:

mac--i was wandering why you were so quiet. I get to see it at 11pm too:thumbsup2

ks--we aren't even going to play games...just veg out. I figured since we have all been so sick this past week it was probably a good idea just to stay home. dave is the latest victim:sick:

mic--isn't that a good feeling to get the tree down? Have fun with your ds/ dsgf.

gant--do you have to dj?

ocm--you can't wake tony up....he is suppose to wake you up...isn't he the alarm clock?!?!?

I hope you all have a great new year too!:grouphug: You are all such great people and deserve the very best. I am proud to call you friends:cloud9:

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!!!

No, I did not have to DJ this year. Had an hors de oveurs (sp) party at the house with just the family and one of my sons friends. Even the 3 yo DD stayed up for the new year. What a great evening. It's the 3rd time in 17 years that I have been home for the new year.

Hope 2008 is the best for all of you.

HAPPY NEW YEARS EVERYONE

Good to see different ones popping in...mac... Gant, sounds like you had a good time with the family....Pam

We had a quiet evening, played some cards, kids left at about 12:05, they had worked and were tired

Now I'm off to bed for the first time in 2008 :goodvibes

HAPPY NEW YEAR IN ABOUT 11 MORE MINUTES.

got to see the ball drop at 11 cst and again for the chicago event in about 10 minutes now.

even my cat is asleep now.

Happy New Year my friends, hope you all had a good night and will have a great year.

and yes the Dis seems to be slower since the "improvments".

Good afternoon 2008 style!

Not much happening here, still putting odds and ends away, put on a pot of soup, cooked some chicken to make some chicken salad...now back to being lazy...dh watching parade on TV...loving his HD...it really does make for a nicer picture, brings out the colors.

Hope no one is nursing a hangover:goodvibes

Nope, not nursing a hangover....i was in bed before midnight last night...is that a sign of getting old?!?!?:confused3

Gant--sounds like a great night you had! It is nice just to hang out with family.

mic--sounds like you had a relaxing night.

ed--good to see you stranger;) Hope you have a great 2008 too!

mac--you know, my dog is the laziest in our house...why do cats and dogs think they can sleep all the time?! did it finally quit snowing there?

Hope you guys all have a great day.

 happy, happy new years day:dance3:

we were so low key we almost missed it;) ; in bed by 12:10:rotfl:

my oldest was @ a partee (he called @ 12:10); middle working hard to control the revelery-evidently not as fun keeping the peace (he called before 12:30); sure miss the days when we'd have family parties...:wizard: soon again I hope.

never heard so many guns being shot off in celebration, still today:confused3 ; keep thinking what goes up must come down.:rolleyes1

what mic said, sez it all! fyi, don't think they tend to announce the free DP until late spring; believe they want to see how many sign up for the bounceback specials they've been running last 2 years (never when we visit).

blustery day here, may finally see some snow (of course youngest goes back to skool in am; talk about timing).

taping the pens/buffalo outdoor game to watch with better half when he comes homes from work, chase it down with some pork & kraut...doesn't get any better:thumbsup2

I have been searching and searching for last years New Years Resolutions, I always like to see if I came close. I know I made some for this year, but I guess we never posted them here. So..not to make the same mistake for next year these are my resolutions:

Me - I am going to try to stay under 127lbs preferably, 125lbs. I would like to get to the gym at least 4 times a week. (Everyday would be great if I can find a way to do that.) I also want to work on a positive thinking plan. I have my frustrations (who doesn't) but I have a lot to be thankful for. I also want to get a dining room table and a bedroom set for my room.

Nico - he should learn all of the states as well as their capitals. Then we will work on one continent at a time and all the countries on that continent. He also needs to be more confident in his writing.

Julie - she needs to work on her writing. She should be writing complete sentences before she starts Kindergarten. She is reading very well, but that could be advanced as well.

Samantha - she needs to be confindent on her letters. She knows them, but she doesn't have the confidence to talk to her teachers and tell them what the are. The few times I have subbed in her class is the only times she will speak. Also, she needs to know her days of the week and months of the year. She needs to work on manners as well. Both Nico and Julie always say please and thank you, but she isn't as good at remembering.

Who is next for resolutions?

Mic - I loved your resolutions. I told Lee he should adopt the one about getting the junk out of the house. If he is going to sleep in the computer room, he could at least clean out the basement and garage before the end of this year.;)

my resolution is to start taking happy pills and then nothing will bother me.

also have the diet and exercise thing still going. still a member of curves.

it has been difficult for me to get on the thread today.
hopefully a week from now it will be an issue of the past.

i unsubscribed and then resubscribed thinking it would help me get my email notifications when a new message is posted, but that didn't work.

still unable to have contact from emails.

yup, hope 2008 will be the best year yet.

pam, you are not old. you were tired. with as much as you do with errands, work, running for the kids activities it is hard to stay up past midnight.
