We have a Keurig and have had it for almost two years. I know that lots of folks say it is expensive to buy the coffee versus brewing your own.....but we enjoy having every cup fresh. My husband no longer buys a single cup outside of the house. When we were brewing coffee, so much was thrown away because I insist on drinking only fresh coffee and to me, that means if it has been sitting more than 10 minutes in a coffee pot, I don't want it. We also wake up at different times in the morning, so there was always someone having stale coffee...or just throwing it out. We no longer throw out an ounce of coffee. Every cup is fresh and is exactly what we want. Between DH and me, we drink a combined 7 cups per day. This is about the cost of a single cup of a premier cup outside the home.
Because folks have tried the Keurig at our home, we can name at least 7 other family members who have purchased one!
We have tried many different coffees, and most are too weak for me. I always make the smallest setting coffee. My DH likes his a bit weaker and will make the larger coffee with what I consider weaker blends.
By far the strongest and richest cup of coffee is the Emeril's coffee. I would say that this is similar to Starbucks. On the smallest cup setting, this is a very pleasant eye opener each morning!
The Paul Newman's coffee is quite tasty, but it is certainly not "extra bold" as it claims to be. It is too weak when made on anything but the smallest setting.
The coffee people donut shop "extra bold" is also a very mild tasing coffee to me....very close to Dunkin Donuts.
Timothy's colombian decaf is wonderful. It has a hearty flavor and is my favorite of all the decafs.
Some of the flavored coffees are quite good and the best "seasonal" one is the cinnamon pastry coffee by Timothy's. It actually tastes like you are drinking a cinnabon! YUM.
We buy the pods at BBB with either the 20% off coupons or $5 off a purchase of $15. We also buy at Kohl's when they have them for 8.99 and then use a % off coupon. We have also purchased on onegreatcup.com (picked up that tip on these boards.)
When we were on vacation in November, the only thing we missed from home was that beautiful fresh coffee each morning.
