I will up load my pictures. I love it all!

:thumbsup2

I am more than half way done with my wrapping!:cool1: I attended a wrapping party last night where we wrapped and drank Pomegranate Martini's YUMMMMMMMMMY! I am vegging out all night and tomorrow will be baking with my friend. Baking is a tough thing, since my "mom" and I always baked, baked, baked. I am fortunate to have good girlfriends to help me through it.

SOunds like a fun evening and

Are we all posting Holiday pictures of our houses decorated? I am loving seeing them! It's like driving by and peaking in the windows. ;)

::yes::

It's not so bad. At least I got it figured out before the weekend! And it's easily treatable with antibiotics. I'd almost rather have something like strep than to have the doctor tell me "it's just a virus!" I hate it when they say that!

Me too! You feel so helpless that you can't do anything to help, don't you!

Hi ladies, guess who is done with school until the second week of January? Boy am I glad to be done. I still have not gotten my tree up, wrapped the presents, made the cookies, and my house is in such a state I do not even know where to begin cleaning. I will also be off work for the next two weeks and look forward to spending some quality time with the kids and you all. Hope everyone is doing well.

Margie :wave2: Yay on being done for the semester:yay:

Jodi- Tink had strep when we were in WDW and I didn't know it. The doctor told me that little ones can even "get through it" on their own without meds. WHO WOULD HAVE KNOWN? :confused3 I hope she feels better soon!

THat's weird, I never heard of such a thing!

Here is a little story for you all about my gross lazy neighbor.
They had a dog this last summer that they took really bad care of. I called the authorities on them once and now they will not talk to me at all. Not a bad thing since they are just not my kind of people. Well for a long time I did not see the dog and all the stuff in the yard for it was gone. I thought great, they realize they can not care for animals and sent him to a good home.

Well I have no idea what happened to the other dog but today I noticed they have a new puppy. How did I notice this you may ask? Since the weather is bad and the lady is to lazy to shovel a small path to the yard, she has been standing inside the door with the dog going potty on the porch:scared1: . Yep, the front porch. Then her, her husband, and any friends today, have been walking on the same porch to get in and out of the house. It is not a big porch that the dog could go off to the side. No he was on the leash just outside the door. All I can think is how gross to have to walk in that and then into the living room. They also have a son who is still crawling. Yep, he is now crawling on that gross floor:sad2: .

:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared: :scared: :scared:

OMG.

The roads are AWFUL. Thank goodness Bob was driving because I wouldn't have left the house. We got 12 inches of snow. The plow still hasn't been by our house, which is a sort of main rd. Our street (in the subdivision) won't see a plow for a week or more, at least. So, I'd assumed that we'd struggle (even with 4WD) out to the Major main rd. and then it'd be plowed. NOPE. Not even the highway (we drove over it) was plowed!!! Bob put my truck in 4wd and we made it to Kroger for groceries.

I got what I needed for the week, and the party tomorrow night. Then we grabbed two pizzas and came home. We were gone for a little over an hour. As we were coming down the main rd. to our house, Bob slowed down a bit and the FOOT of snow on my roof all slid forward and down the windshield. It completely blocked the windshield, and he couldn't turn on the wipers!! I was freaking out! I'm like, "OMG, OMG! I can't see, can you?????" He says, "Uh, no. What do we do?" So we slowed down, tried to keep the truck straight and he reached out the window and made a tiny little hole to see out of through the windshield.

That adventure was enough to last a lifetime. Once we got into the street he hopped out into the huge snowdrift and cleaned off the window on his side so he could pull up the driveway. I said, "So, why didn't you clean off the roof?" He glared at me. :confused3

Seemed like a reasonable question to me.

:rotfl2:

MEL
Dude, I'm SOOOOO up for wine.

:rotfl: :lmao: That was a reasonable question.

only when you start singing "Fra ra ra ra ra" :lmao:
:lmao:
I'll be popping in and out, likely. I think I might watch "Love Actually" since I am alone and it's kind of girly. ;)
I've never seen it - let me know if it's good.

Sounds like something I'd say. :rotfl:
Just a quick check-in. Got home from the doctor with DD4. It seems that she has strep! :scared1: I learned that in younger kids (under age 5-6), strep doesn't always show up as a sore throat. It can be cold symptoms, fever and vomiting. Who knew? Anyway, the rash was a tell-tale sign and she's now on amoxil. Now gotta hope that DD7 doesn't catch it too!
Oh no! Well as least you've got her some meds now.

I went out and bought bagged cookie dough. :lmao: Just add an egg and a stick of butter! Woo hoo, my kind of baking!:thumbsup2

:crazy2: Ewww!!! That's disgusting!
Evening all! Home from work While they are gone Jimmy and I are gong to build a Ginerbread Christmas Train from a kit we got from some sale fundraiser Jim's school was having.
Oh man! I saw one of these somewhere and haven't been able to find the Gingerbread Train ANYWHERE!! :headache:

On Sunday we are going to get the pasta and fish I need for Christmas Eve.

Ooh.... what's on the menu? What do you make for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day? All we make are tamales ... gross! Blech! I usually just make something easy for me and the kids, since they don't eat tamales either.

Tomorrow is our tamale party. Oh joy.

T---you don't like tamales?

You have to revoke your mexicana card. Sorry. ;)

T-We do our Christmas dinner on Christmas eve-we're having Coq au vin and four-cheese gnocci for the vegetarians (me! :)) and a scallop dish.

Dude - I am just not that into them. I'm ok with the "Gourmet" kind, you know gringo style, but Mexican tamales in the corn husk and South American tamales in the banana leaves are just plain yucky to me. :confused3

Sorry, but I can make a mean enchilada. :teeth:

I do no cooking for Christmas. I take the kids and we go to my Aunt and Uncles. Last year they lived in South Carolina and I went to my cousin's house.
My Aunt and Uncle have a little party Christmas Eve and that is finger food type items. On Christmas there is a big breakfast at my Aunt's parents house. We have pancakes, eggs, sausage, bacon, and orange juice. Gifts are opened after that and then we sit until dinner. Everyone brings something for dinner and Ham.

Thanks for all the warm welcomes back. I miss you all and this thread during school.

I know what you mean! Glad she's feeling better.

Hi Margie!

All I can think is how gross to have to walk in that and then into the living room. They also have a son who is still crawling. Yep, he is now crawling on that gross floor:sad2: .

OK, well, that's just gross.

I think they will do just fine, but isn't it wierd the first time they don't sleep at home!

I leave them fairly frequently - the trips with D or even when we go to IL and I have a wedding where I leave them at the grandparents so that I can stay at the wedding, but I don't think I've ever been in MY house without them!

I think they're probably fine or I'd have heard by now, but I don't want to be the drunk mom who can't go get them if there happens to be an issue. :rotfl:

Evening all! Home from work and glad to be in my nice warm, dry house! THe rain is awful, but I will take it over snow anyday ::yes::

Showoff. :snooty: :rotfl:

I've never seen it - let me know if it's good.

I own it on DVD and watch it at least once a year. It's set around Christmas, though it's not a "Christmas movie" per se. I LOVE it. :lovestruc Plus it's British, so I think of Jo. ;) Though it's certainly romantic, D actually also likes it.

Ooh.... what's on the menu? What do you make for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day? All we make are tamales ... gross! Blech! I usually just make something easy for me and the kids, since they don't eat tamales either.

We do Christmas Eve as a block party (inside, though) and so we all bring stuff - I like my neighbor's chili. :) I need an idea for Christmas Day - we eat with our friends and we do something different every year, but the rule is that it can't be complicated as we don't want to spend a lot of time thinking about cooking. ::yes:: Any thoughts for 5 adults (her mom will be here) and 4 kids? We've done roast chicken a time or two, and ham. Either of those would be fine, or something else... Lasagna appeals to me, but I'd have to make it Christmas Eve day - but then, the kids will be at the club... Hmmm...

T-We do our Christmas dinner on Christmas eve-we're having Coq au vin and four-cheese gnocci for the vegetarians (me! :)) and a scallop dish.

Oooh, the gnocci sound fantastic! (I like Coq au vin, too, but...)

**************************************************
Still no word, so I hope that's about it. They were going to do dinner and then a movie, and hope that they were tired from being out in the snow all afternoon. I think I'm safe by 10:00.

I might watch "Enchanted" next. The boys like it, but they haven't picked it in quite a while. popcorn::

I love ya' T!

We don't make them very often. Last Christmas...we tried to do it all healthy-like...and instead of using lard, we used olive oil.

Lesson learned. Don't jack with history.

:Lesson learned. Don't jack with history.

:lmao: I read this and thought - That would make a great stitched sampler on some cool and "with it" Grandma's wall.

By the way I love tamales. So anyone making them can send them to me. Just PM me if you need the address.

:rotfl:

Back in the El Paso days, they used to do $.25 tamale night at the AA minor league ballpark. YUMMMM.

I think I might go have a bath, in the long run. And I don't even have to worry - I can jack up my music and not wake the boys! :thumbsup2

Fockers change threads faster then I change underwear. :scared1:

For Pete's bananas you ladies move fast :rotfl:

Hi everyone. Looks like I have some reading to catch up on. Hope everyone is wallowing in some potent Holiday cheer. :dance3:

Oh Deb. We've missed you. It only took you 50 pages to join us! ;)

Come round more often darlin'. We love your company.

Alright, I'm officially enlisting the help of my Fockers...

I have an aunt in Brooklyn who is incredibly generous with my boys, both at birthdays and Christmas. In the past I have always baked and sent out my own gift baskets of sorts to extended family. This year I've not only run out of time, but can manage to do a little more than a DIY gift. I'd like to send her something...but what???? She's an allergy sufferer, so plants are out. She's borderline diabetic, so sweets are not a good idea. Gift baskets are ridiculously expensive! Even Costco.com is trying to get me to spend $19.95 for 3 water crackers, 3.75 oz of cheese, 2 oz of salmon and ONE chunk of chocolate weighing in at 1.05 ounces!

I'm at a loss....

Thanks  I think we need to unleash ourselves on the cops:yay: We will be the crying braless wonder twins!! What should our theme music be?

Hey Deb! I was pulled over a few weeks ago too. And let me tell you, no one wants to see my girls braless either! :rotfl2: :rotfl:

What were you pulled over for?

See if I am braless I am in danger of tripping over the girls. Or stepping on them.
