So who's going from the 31st to the 6th??
That's awesome Kat! :banana: I know you'll have a great time.

She also likes to pretend to be a scarf, walking around your neck, goodness knows what we'll do when she's heavier :eek:
That's why I'm glad my cat does that only whilst I'm laying down. :goodvibes

he gave us his Employee disocunt too:thumbsup2 Needless to say he got a great tip.
Smart boy! :thumbsup2 Glad you had a good time.

I liked it before, but after it protected us so well with such little damage, I love it! :rotfl:
:thumbsup2 Glad you got your car back and feeling better.

Not much going on here today. Finishing ironing and laundry. We may go to Epcot tonight but not much else.

Boo has decided that her favourite place to sleep is on my chest, yes I know it's ample but................. :rotfl: I'm sitting here nowwith her asleep on me!!!! She also likes to pretend to be a scarf, walking around your neck, goodness knows what we'll do when she's heavier QUOTE]
:goodvibes Boots will sit on my lap and start to knead my legs!

Isabella has always jumped up on my chest when she finds me sitting---at her weight, it kinda feels like CPR, but I leave her there!:thumbsup2

===============================

Had a great time with my friends last night. We went to Ruby Tuesday for dinner, but it was just so nice to just sit and chat and catch up. My one friend, her son's friend was our waiter and he gave us his Employee disocunt too:thumbsup2 Needless to say he got a great tip. We just sat there for like 3 hours talking and catching up.

Afterwards, the friend who picked me up and I headed to Target becasue they had something on sale that she wanted to pick up for her son for CHristmas. Of course I bought a few things while I was there too:rolleyes1

Today I have my rescheduled OPEN MRI at 2:00pm. Will let you all know how it goes.

Have a great WEdnesday everyone!:goodvibes
Good luck with the Open one. Ab had no problems with that and I think I could do it too---they played music in the background which really helped her too.

Yikes! Get on the phone and get some meals planned!!! ;)

Snicker, snicker. You said "ample" :laughing:

I'm glad you had fun. :goodvibes
I'm glad you got the MRI rescheduled. :thumbsup2

I'm about to run the kids to school, then I have to take my doggy to the vet and go get my car back! :yay: I've missed my car so much... :lovestruc I liked it before, but after it protected us so well with such little damage, I love it! :rotfl:

Oh yea! Glad you get your car back!! :thumbsup2

+++++++++++

well, stressful teen morning.........Ab decided to throw a temper tantrum cause she wanted to go out with BF instead of going to work...I said No....she said yes.....she started crying....I took away car keys.....she cried more. She made mistake of saying "it's MY car.".....don't think so....I have keys in my purse. And I still have to go to work. :mad:

But NO WAY am I letting her and her sis drive to school with her so mad. She called my mom and told her I was a "mean mom." :rolleyes: (mom's a counselor too and she's good with Ab)

sigh.....

You know I'm sort of in the market - what do you drive?
A 2007 Dodge Durango :thumbsup2 I love it. It seats 7, the seats fold down for the dogs in the very back, it has side & top airbags... :lovestruc

Yay on getting the car back. HOw did yo make out at the doctor yesterday?
I went in feeling pretty good. I had massage therapy and a little adjustment. About 5pm, my back started aching like crazy and still is. It was that tiny 120 pound massage chick! She beat me up!! :scared1: :rolleyes:

I told her she made a chubby girl feel boney by finding every boney area in me and smashing it!!! :lmao:

My mom's leaving for the WDW today.

Ugh, I hate depending on other people to get things done. Hope you can get it done today.

Well, it's not like I think this should be the principal's top priority, but I guess what annoys me slightly is that all we did was re-date last year's stuff and put the new clip-art on, but we still have to go through this. :rolleyes:

I suppose it's good to make sure anyone's not sneaking anything bad in there - I'm trustworthy, but I suppose someone might not be... :lmao:

Alright, Cafe gurus...

Why do my servers sometimes not serve? Is it just a glitch in the game? I've rearranged and it seems easier for them to get to the customers, but still sometimes someone comes in and all 3 servers ignore them. What else do I do? :rotfl: (Am I trying to avoid all my real world responsibilities? Yes. ::yes:: :rotfl2:)

usually it's because they cant get to your tables easily . I'll look at your layout....well, for one, you have them where they have to go all around to serve the people at the end of the table. That makes them too slow and buzz will go down or people will leave. ("upper table:)
I would add more free doors to so people can come and go easier. You have one waitress trapped in--for a really fast game, trap them all!

.....and dang, my orange hair is lookin' good today! :rotfl:

Well, I tried to trap them in, and then customers could only go to the first seats. That didn't work. :rotfl:I've got a set up now where people can move through, but... And, I was just kind of watching, and at one point, a customer sat down RIGHT in front of one of the servers, and still didn't get served. So, I'm confused... :confused::rotfl2:

Ah, well. At one point last week I was getting buzz near 100 - now I hover around 10 all the time. Sigh.

************************************************
The gym just called - yoga is canceled tonight because the instructor's out. I was supposed to get my brows waxed during that time, so I rescheduled that, as I'm not driving 30 minutes for only a 5 minute appointment... ;)

I need to call and see what I can rearrange for next Wed. I have the dog's follow-up vet appointment and the sprinklers getting turned off, but we finally got our tennis match schedule and that's our first match. :sad2:

The second? Yep, you guessed it - Book Fair week. :sad2: And it's at home, which are booked for Tuesdays. The captain can't play on Tuesdays - she works T-Th - and so I really have to be there as co-captain, but then I really have to be at Book Fair, too. Sigh.

CE--yeah, just sit and watch them and sometimes you can figure out why they are serving....and u may have to fire the lazy ones! (not me of course! :snooty:)

....well Ab just called and the nurse is sending her home sick....so no work for me....got her a doctor's appt for 2:45.....and...back me up on this....she is NOT going over to her BFs house after school!

(someday I'll look back fondly on these years, right? RIGHT>>):rolleyes:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sorry - that's as far as I got! I spent the morning in a parent/teacher conference, where I learned Leo is doing just fine and the state's new reading tests are stupid, and then signing my life away to the mortgage and AC finance companies. I need to refi to get out of a balloon mortgage and nabbed a great rate, so here's hoping it all goes through without a hitch! And the AC guys are installing my new system even as I type. :thumbsup2
Now I need to catch up on work. TTYL!
glad your conference is going well! DId u decide on Bank of America? that's who I have and I've been fine with them.. You get perks on your bank accounts for having a mortgage with them too...plus the online banking is pretty good.
well, Ab is resting....she says so many kids are sick that there are a lot online to talk to right now. :rolleyes:
==========================
I went to the mall. I got a new table cover (yeam exciting) and I got Jimmt a new paor of pants and a shirt for school pics tomorrow. HAve to run to the $$ store to pick up some baskets for Jim's classroom, but I will do that after the MRI since they are right near each other!:thumbsup2
DId u decide on Bank of America?
LOL, I had no other choice! I was a Countrywide customer and BoA bought them out, so they inherited me. I did the refi under the Making Home Affordable act because I'm so upside down no one else would touch a refi. Thankfully, sales are back up and prices are increasing, but units like mine that were once selling for $300K+ sold last year for $75K. OUCH! :headache:
What is the reading test like?
I'm not sure just how the test was run, but here's the "stupid" part...
Teachers receive a TON of data from the test. The idea is that it should help them pinpoint the specific areas in which a student might be having trouble - vocabulary, phonics, fluency, etc. But all the teachers got was data; no guidelines for interpretation. Leo's teacher, for instance, managed to figure out that "GRL 1" meant he'd successfully read a grade level 1. But she hasn't the faintest idea what a random "4" after that means. Multiply that about 10 times and that's what the teachers have to work with. Calls to the state are unanswered and the schools are frustrated. I like her, though; she said "whatever - I read with him every day and didn't need a test to tell me he needs to work on fluency." :thumbsup2
Good luck with your MRI! :hug:
This is what drive Jim crazy with all these "standardized" tests. 1) Kids are not standradized:headache: 2) they put all of these "requirements" but give no explanation of why or how. :headache::headache: 3) Blame teachers if the kids don't pass :headache::headache::headache: How can the teacher pass/fail a kid if they themselves don't understand the requirements:headache::headache::headache::mad:
Good luck with your MRI! :hug:
THanks!
------------------------------------
So have you all heard the latest rumors. Coffee drinkers will like:thumbsup2 The rumor is that the Nestle contract is coming up to the end and that DIsney is negotiating with both Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts.
Amen to all of that. And what I don't get is this: teachers don't like it. Parents don't like it. Kids don't like it. Schools don't like it. So who the heck decided they should do it?!
Bleeeh, not this coffee drinker. Just more brown water, though with a little bite to it. You know who makes a good, inexpensive bean? 8 o'clock. Though I'm not sure they do wholesale. Melitta's not too bad. As for me - I'll just keep bringing my Gevalia Costa Rica Peaberry. :love:
I understand, we have to do the same thing!
You two have WAY too much time on your hands:lmao:
Come on little Janet....it's fun....you know you want to play too....just one little mouse click! (:lmao:peer pressure, mommy style!)
yeah--that's bad for your resale value.. Glad you were able to get a refi tho--hope the rate was ok.
I'm not a fan of standardized tests....but having been all over the country---let me say that if they did NOT have them in this area, the kids would probably never be able to get into college. Everything is way below the standards I saw in TX and upper SC........... Luckily Ab can take some virtual classes this year, cause many of the teachers in high school have absolutely no clue what they are teaching. (rant of the day!)
.....and because we have such a high poverty level, we do get extra grants for teachers from NCLB.....BUT they hire the same teachers that went to school here so nothing really changes.:mad:
(someday I'll look back fondly on these years, right? RIGHT>>):rolleyes:
Nuts. Sigh. I was just trying to get books from our last Scholastic order form, and they say, "You can pick a "just right" book by the levels!" Then they give you 4 different kinds of levels for each book, none seem to match at all, and there's no explanation. I would imagine some of them correspond to standardized testing. :confused: One of them was "GRL" though - so at least I've seen that before. :rolleyes:
The rumor is that the Nestle contract is coming up to the end and that DIsney is negotiating with both Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts.
Now, I am not at all a Starbucks fan, but I LOVE me some DD. :lmao:
***********************************************
I made some phone calls, then D texted to see if I wanted to have lunch with him. I had just heard from the school that we were good, so I quick went to make copies. Then, once I got there, the head secretary noticed a typo (I hate this - I edit for my friend perfectly, but can't see my own mistakes... :headache:) So, I had to come home, fix it and reprint it, then go back. When I got back, I got on the old copier, which jammed a ton of times.
Then, when I finally finished up - and about 1 minute away from when I was supposed to meet D, but a 10 minute drive away :rolleyes: - I went to put the rest of the paper back in the PATT office and broke the lock on the door. :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:
It was a heck of a day.
But lunch was good, and then we went to Target. I have laundry soap! :banana: :rotfl:
Easy Tuna Noodles
Awesome - I love comfort food like this! :thumbsup2 Thanks!
We pulled the trigger.....we are going to WDW! We only have our flights there but the total for us both came out to $82 bucks!!!!!!
I need ADRs!
:banana::banana: Kat, I'm so glad you're getting to go to WDW after all!! Choose somewhere romantic for at least 1 ADR :love:
Had a great time with my friends last night. We went to Ruby Tuesday for dinner, but it was just so nice to just sit and chat and catch up. Today I have my rescheduled OPEN MRI at 2:00pm. Will let you all know how it goes.
Hope everything goes smoothly this time!
Jo - My cat likes to sit on me as well and it drives me nuts. She'll sit right in my lap though to where I can't move and will sit there and stare down the two dogs with a smirk on her face.
:rotfl: Our Lilly loves to sit on her "dad's" lap when he's making his tank and plane models and watches intently what he's doing - he can't get much done with her there, but it's so darn cute, he lets her do it.:rotfl2:
well, stressful teen morning.........Ab decided to throw a temper tantrum cause she wanted to go out with BF instead of going to work...I said No....she said yes.....she started crying....I took away car keys.....she cried more. sigh.....
Oy. I'd have done the same. Teen angst, I don't know who it's worse for - the kid or the parents!!! :headache:
I went in feeling pretty good. I had massage therapy and a little adjustment. About 5pm, my back started aching like crazy and still is. It was that tiny 120 pound massage chick! She beat me up!! :scared1: :rolleyes:
Good for Leo :thumbsup2
Oh thank goodness! Just about anything should be better than Nesca-Carp! I always bring my own and I took the remainder home last year - guess what cap fell off in my suitcase??? I'm still trying to get the coffee smell out :lmao:
