Finally talked to D, and he's in agreement that my super fast tuna noodles would be good for dinner.

That DOES sound good for dinner - I love tuna, I love noodles. Have you shared the recipe????

Our HSA president thinks she is all that...guess what, she's not;)

:faint:Sounds like everyone will know it too!

But he was glad to get out and eat! And eat! And now he's back in his crate after being petted! He's so cute when he arches his little back so you can pet him....it's sad to think he was out in the wild for his whole life.:sad2:

Aawwww, you must feel so good knowing you saved him :goodvibes

I've been watching more QVC lately as well. LOL I love watching the Christmas shows they have on and the decorations.

Oohh, me + QVC = dangerous! I try not to watch :rotfl2:

Luckily, they have us now and won't even remember what it was like to not snuggle in bed with me at night and eat special puppy popper treats that we made for them! :rolleyes: They are spoiled babies now! :dogdance:

I totally agree! :love: My Lilly lived in a small cage before we got her at 5 mos old, and I fear she came from one of those puppy mills. I can't even stand to think about it. I just hope she knows how much we love her :cloud9:
Good Morning all. It's a wonderful day in Philly. THe Phillies came back and beat the Dodgers.

They're going all the way!! :cool1:

Morning! I seem to have gotten past the sticker shock of new AC - thanks for commiserating with me, lol! :grouphug: I'm sorts of Fuzzy about it now; just think - the reduction in electric bills will help pay for that $5K programmable thermostat! :rotfl2:

Yeah, use that fuzzy Disney math - soon you'll be convinced you're MAKING money on the deal :rotfl2:

I had a GREAT ride last night! What a difference not having a sinus infection makes. For my fellow horsey-friends, I spent a good part of the lesson in 2-point, which was new for me. My thighs will thank me later, lol! And I found my ability to post the trot again - yay! :goodvibes

Well, I don't know anything about horse-speak but... YAY :cool1: YAY:cool1:!

Had a good day yesterday, another prof asked me to be a tutor for his classes claiming that I am "highly intelligent". I laughed to myself as shouldn't the sucking up be going the other way around, student sucking up to teacher? Anyways I agreed to do it as a lot of my classmates need all the help they can get. I often help them anyways so I may as well get paid for doing it right?

Then I got a test and a paper back, got 100% on both! I was really surprised about the test as I was so unsure about some of my answers.

I know I probably sound like a braggart talking about school so much, I just feel so much better about myself and the direction of my life now that I am back in school and have a set goal/career that I am working towards, I don't feel so aimless and I haven't had a single anxiety attack since September, hopefully they are a thing of the past.

Today I have a biology test, hopefully it won't be too bad. I didn't end up studying much last night as I was exhausted so I went to bed around 8:30 and didn't wake up until 8 this morning! That is nearly twelve hours of sleep! :eek:

Disaster also seems to be striking my class, within one week two people came down with H1NI, one girl broke her ankle falling on the stairs and another had a house fire. I dread what is going to happen next! :scared1:

Congratulations, Lessa - you have every right to brag a little!! Good for you, and it's good to hear! :cool1: Sorry for being dense as I'm sure you've talked about it, but what degree are you studying for? I hope that bad mojo steers clear of you!

I've thought about volunteering at a shelter but I was also afraid I couldn't leave them there. I should donate to them tho....it's sad--over 90% are killed at the one near me.....one lady said the collection of collars at the end of the day would make you cry.
Yikes

It is making me cry - that is so sad :sad1:

Ab is going in to school late today with a sore throat---I told her I'd take her before 2nd period, and she reminded me she could drive.

Is she offering to do all your errands for you??:rotfl2:

One of her BFFs just got swine flu---and she's the daughter of the school nurse. Hopefully all will stay well.

Yikes!

Found out my laptop problem is probably NOT the power cord, but the battery. Of course after I already ordered the power cord. But, a new battery is on its way too - hopefully all will be well by the end of the week ;)

I promised the slow cooker pork recipe I made last week (and it was yummy!) I promptly lost it right after I promised it and just now found the paper it was on. So, before I lose it again, here it is....

Apple Cider/Ginger Pork Roast

2 medium onions, halved and sliced
4 apples, cored and quartered (peeled, optional)
1 pork loin roast (3-1/2 to 4 lbs)
Kosher salt and pepper
4-6 carrots, peeled and cut in 1” pieces, or 20 baby carrots
1 cup new or red potatoes quartered
2 gloves garlic, minced
2 tbls chopped herbs such as thyme & parsley
2 cups apple cider
2 tbls apple cider vinegar
1 tbls fresh ginger, peeled and minced
1 tsp ground giner
1 tbls brown sugar

Arrange onions and apples on the bottom of the slow cooker.
Rub pork roast with salt and pepper
Place carrots and potatoes around roast. Sprinkle the roast with garlic and herbs.
Combine the cider, vinegar and brown sugar and pour over and alongside roast.
Cover & cook on low 6-8 hours or high 3-4 hours.

I served mine with braised red cabbage and buttered noodles (because I like noodle better than potatoes).

Have a good Tuesday night everyone!

I'm going to go take a shower and pretty myself up for my girls night out:yay:. I am so excited. This is the 1st night I have had out since August:sad2: [/QUOTE]

Have lots of fun!:yay:

Jimmy';s den does an indor cammping thing at the zoo, then an outdoor one in June. I figure those are two nights I can make plans with my girlfriends and go out. I sure as heck ain't sleeping on the ground or floor!
For our first time out, I wanted something local. We'll either do the zoo, aquarium or Natural History museum for our big overnight in the spring.
When you get to level 8 or 9, I think you will get to hire someone else.
TE taught me to take my door and put it in storage while I'm cooking a bunch of stuff so my rating won't go down. When your rating is up, more people come in.
Ooooh... thanks!:thumbsup2
Also if you box your chef and servers in like I have they cook and serve quicker so you sell stuff faster :thumbsup2
Ooh.... thanks to you, too! :thumbsup2
Oooh, good for ghost stories! :rotfl2:
You'd think, right? A few of my little girls are chickens. ;)
Good Morning all. It's a wonderful day in Philly. THe Phillies came back and beat the Dodgers. One win away from the World Series:thumbsup2 I actually fell aslepp and didn't see the end of the game (that's why I didn't answer your text T!). Maybe I need to do that more often.
The Dodgers were robbed. That's all I'm sayin'. :snooty:
I'm heading out in a bit to go get the replacement iPhone. I was told to make an appointment at an Apple store, so I'm sort of on a timeline. It's not in either of my local malls, and to get there I have to combat a serious lack of bridges over the main river - we're getting a bridge with stimulus money in my town, but for now I have to drive 20 minutes north just to get across a bridge, and then the mall with the Apple store is actually about 20 minutes south, go figure. :rolleyes:
:eek: Meh! I can't imagine. The only river around here are made of concrete. :laughing:
Morning! I seem to have gotten past the sticker shock of new AC - thanks for commiserating with me, lol! :grouphug: I'm sorts of Fuzzy about it now; just think - the reduction in electric bills will help pay for that $5K programmable thermostat! :rotfl2:

See? I've got my humor back. Things are looking up! That's also in part to...

That's great, V. :goodvibes
I'm off to snuggle with DR. Hope y'all have a good day!
Enjoy! :)
What's an iron? :confused3
I love to iron! Almost as much as V loves laundry. :teeth:

Glad to see you're feeling better!

Not at all! We're all happy for you, Lessa. :goodvibes
You ain't kidding. Jim is wondering when all the boxes are going to start arriving:lmao:
Tell me about it! I get blamed when ANY box shows up on the door. :rolleyes:

It's been a busy morning, doing :laundy: and getting everything ready for tonights Brownie meeting. :faint: I've got 2 new girls coming tonight, so I have to get all their registration stuff together and then I've been working out the details for our first overnight trip in December. I can't wait to tell the girls! :yay: They've been buggin' me about it for weeks!

I've got to gather the troops and start homework, now.

:flower3:

See? I've got my humor back. Things are looking up!

Good news! :goodvibes

So, I have my second chiropractor appt this am. I'm actually excited because I feel so much better than last week. There's still pain when I bend and twist, but it's managable.

I went back and read some and saw you were in an accident. So sorry :hug:, but glad the chiro is helping out and that you are feeling better.

And hope disaster stays far away from you!

Lori and Angela, got my days mixed up. Holiday kick off is on Saturday

:thumbsup2 Thanks!

Well... After driving 45 minutes each way for a 10 minute stop, I do happily have a new phone. I stopped at the AT&T store, too, and had them reinstate my data plan (I had it turned off for the time I wasn't using the phone) and get myself all transfered back. I bought a new tougher case with a lip, so that if it falls face down, the screen shouldn't touch the ground. (Shouldn't, but I can break nearly anything...)

Glad you were able to get your phone and everything settled. :thumbsup2

:lmao:

One good thing about being single...I don't have to justify my internet addiction to anyone but my kids and let's face it, they are addcicted as well.

You ain't kidding. Jim is wondering when all the boxes are going to start arriving:lmao:

:lmao:

Here it is...
Peanut Butter Puppy Poppers
• 2 cups whole-wheat flour
• 1 tbsp. baking powder
• 1 cup peanut butter (chunky or smooth)
• 1 cup milk
Preheat oven to 375'F. In a bowl, combine flour and baking powder. In another bowl, mix peanut butter and milk, then add to dry ingredients and mix well. Place dough on a lightly floured surface and knead. Roll dough to 1/4 inch thickness and use a cookie cutter to cut out shapes. Bake for 20 minutes on a greased baking sheet until lightly brown. Cool on a rack, then store in an airtight container. --- This is the original recipe, but I have found the cookies burn easily.

We just roll them in little balls. They'd be cute in shapes for puppy christmas presents, though if you have family memebers or friends with dogs.

Thanks for this! This would be a great gift to do to for all the dog lovers of my family.

Funny story...this recipie sounds like a dog treat my grandma gives to her dog. We always go to my grandma's for Christmas Eve and last year was no different. She had these dog treats in a glass dish on her coffee table and my brother and one cousin were eating them like candy. Once everyone was in the room to open gifts my brother asked her what kind of candy it was. She told him it wasn't candy but dog treats. My cousin and brother looked at each other and both ran to the kitchen to get something to drink.

Boots was so terrified of having to fight TE's Boots that she's changed her name to Boo, much cuter for a little girl don't you think :thumbsup2

Played golf today and OMG I was bad :rotfl: Literally nothing went right, no putts went in or anything :sad2: Hopefully I used up all the bad shots before my match on Friday!!!

I bought Boo a scratching post with toy attached and she's hilarious, she climbed all the way to the top :thumbsup2

Awwww...I like the name Boo and :rotfl2: to the scratching post.

Sorry about the terrible golf day. :(

I'm going to go take a shower and pretty myself up for my girls night out:yay:. I am so excited. This is the 1st night I have had out since August:sad2:

Hope everyone has a good night. I will check in when I get home. We are meeting at 5:30 so I can't see us being iout too late. If dinner is done realy early may see if my one friend who is picking me up wants to hit the mall just to walk around for a bit;)

Hope you have a great time Janet!

Have fun! We're going to a football game at 5pm. It's Baylie's school and one of my bestie's daughter's school. Katie will be dancing and Baylie's so excited to go see her at half-time. :dance3: Part of me wishes Baylie danced at half-time too, but she's not allowed to participate on the school team since she's on a private team. The compete against each other. :headache: Plus, the school team sux BAD. She wouldn't be happy if she was only on the school team.

My other friend's son will be playing too. :thumbsup2 It should be fun. I'm glad I can sit on the benches without it hurting too badly. Baby steps! :lmao:

Hope you have a great time too, Dawn!

****************************************************

Got my car back this afternoon. $115 later my brakes are in perfect working condition. :yay:

We are in the middle of painting here in our house and it is such a mess. The toy room is tore apart and all the toys are in the computer room. Once it's painted the toy room will become the computer room and the toys will go to the kids room. The family room is being painted as well and the furniture is all over the place. It's looking really good though. I'll have to make an album on Facebook of the before and afters. Next up will be the kitchen. :yay:

That's it for me. I made beef stew for dinner and it smells sooooooo good and the dinger on the oven is ringing telling me the garlic bread is done.

:rotfl2:

What a PITA!!!!

Yep :rotfl2: And so pleased you found Boots!

Yikes, glad you didn't have an accident!

Will do :rotfl2:

Don't be silly, brag away, we're all proud of you :goodvibes

Glad you got it and hope you don't break anything this time :rotfl2:

Boots was so terrified of having to fight TE's Boots that she's changed her name to Boo, much cuter for a little girl don't you think :thumbsup2
:lmao:BA was gonna name him Bootsie---till we discovered the hangey-down things (that will be chopped off in 2 weeks!)

I like Boo! It is fun to watch them play---I was worried that Boots wasn't playing much but he's coming around with his little play mice. The vet said he wouldn't have been used to playing much with toys. :sad1:

V: Sorry about the A/C, but glad you've got it all handled. :hug:

Lessa: Never feel you're bragging about school. I agree with what CE said. :thumbsup2

Janet: I'm so glad I'm not the only one who watches them, they're usually on late at night here.
Cute pic of Jimmy in his cub scouts uniform :goodvibes:

I think I may be the only person on FB not playing that or Mafia Wars. :rolleyes:

Kat: Where ya goin? Still going to Disney for Halloween? I'm missed stuff here so forgive me if that's been answered. :upsidedow

Hi everyone else! I'm sure I meant to quote more, but my brain is mush right now.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The kitten that was sick seems to be better, my brother and I bought some natural nasal spray and gave it to him (no easy task) and that seemed to have helped LOTS so no vet bills/visit.
Not much here. I decided to take yesterday and today off. It was so needed. Just ran errands both days.
Anyway, I'm off to catch up on some of my shows.
TTFN!
2 5 oz. cans of tuna
2 cups milk
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1/4 cup flour
2 cups shredded cheeese (I use a 4 cheese blend, cheddar or jack would be good, too.)
Egg noodles (roughly 10 oz.?)
Some onion
Salt & Pepper
************************************************
Start water to boil. Throw the noodles in whenever it's ready and cook according to package.
Meanwhile, melt the butter in a large skillet over medium high heat. Add the flour to make a nice roux sauce base (really just a thickening agent...) Drain the tuna and throw it in. Add in the rest of the ingredients. I tend to use the dried onion flakes from the spice section, rather than chopping fresh - it tastes good and is even LESS prep. :rotfl: Salt & pepper to taste. Heat through, then lower heat until the noodles are done.
Either throw the noodles in the skillet or serve the concoction over the noodles. All can be done by the time the noodles are done boiling. :thumbsup2
If you like a more liquid sauce, add more milk, if you like it thicker, add more flour, onion to taste, etc. - it's that kind of recipe. :) I seem to remember my mom putting peas in it sometimes when I was little, but no one in my house eats them, so we don't. Mom doesn't any more, either.
yes, I'm up late....BA informs me at 9:30 that her 600 word essay on the Transcontinental Railroad is due tomorrow....and her jump drive is in her locker...and it was only 140 words anyway. :headache:
So....3 hours later...and we have a paper. If anyone ever needs to know about the Cheyenne Indians and the Railroad, call me. :thumbsup2
Had a great time with my friends last night. We went to Ruby Tuesday for dinner, but it was just so nice to just sit and chat and catch up. My one friend, her son's friend was our waiter and he gave us his Employee disocunt too:thumbsup2 Needless to say he got a great tip. We just sat there for like 3 hours talking and catching up.
Afterwards, the friend who picked me up and I headed to Target becasue they had something on sale that she wanted to pick up for her son for CHristmas. Of course I bought a few things while I was there too:rolleyes1
Today I have my rescheduled OPEN MRI at 2:00pm. Will let you all know how it goes.
Have a great WEdnesday everyone!:goodvibes
Boo has decided that her favourite place to sleep is on my chest, yes I know it's ample but................. :rotfl: I'm sitting here nowwith her asleep on me!!!! She also likes to pretend to be a scarf, walking around your neck, goodness knows what we'll do when she's heavier :eek:
Snicker, snicker. You said "ample" :laughing:
Had a great time with my friends last night. We went to Ruby Tuesday for dinner, but it was just so nice to just sit and chat and catch up. My one friend, her son's friend was our waiter and he gave us his Employee disocunt too:thumbsup2 Needless to say he got a great tip. We just sat there for like 3 hours talking and catching up.
Afterwards, the friend who picked me up and I headed to Target becasue they had something on sale that she wanted to pick up for her son for CHristmas. Of course I bought a few things while I was there too:rolleyes1
Today I have my rescheduled OPEN MRI at 2:00pm. Will let you all know how it goes.
Have a great WEdnesday everyone!:goodvibes
I'm glad you had fun. :goodvibes
I'm glad you got the MRI rescheduled. :thumbsup2
I'm about to run the kids to school, then I have to take my doggy to the vet and go get my car back! :yay: I've missed my car so much... :lovestruc I liked it before, but after it protected us so well with such little damage, I love it! :rotfl:
Kat - YAY! To the trip to Disney. Hope you and KC have a lot of fun.
Jo - My cat likes to sit on me as well and it drives me nuts. She'll sit right in my lap though to where I can't move and will sit there and stare down the two dogs with a smirk on her face.
Janet - Glad you had a good night out. Good thoughts for you and the MRI.
:wave2: I know I missed people in not quoting but I hope everyone has a good day!
Just dropped Linds off at school and I have a few hours before I need to get ready to go. I feel like I'm getting a chest cold thanks to Mr. DR. Lindsey doesn't seem to be affected (or is it effected?) by this yet and I'm hoping it stays this way.
Linds has a church program today after school so I won't have to get her until 5, I think DR and I are going to do a little shopping after I'm done with class. I'm really in need of a haircut but might wait until this weekend when I can pawn my kids off on the sitter or my dad and go get it done.
That's it for me and I probably won't be on again until the evening. Have a good one Fockers! :)
yes, I'm up late....BA informs me at 9:30 that her 600 word essay on the Transcontinental Railroad is due tomorrow....and her jump drive is in her locker...and it was only 140 words anyway. :headache:
So....3 hours later...and we have a paper. If anyone ever needs to know about the Cheyenne Indians and the Railroad, call me. :thumbsup2
Oh, dear. :hug:
We pulled the trigger.....we are going to WDW! We only have our flights there but the total for us both came out to $82 bucks!!!!!!
Have fun!
I was kind of hoping to be doing all that copying and stuff today, but I didn't get an "approval" note home with the kids yesterday. I may need to call and see where we are. I could do it tomorrow afternoon, but I have NOTHING going on today until the kids have yoga. I'll call in a bit, but since school doesn't actually start for another 3 minutes, I'll give the secretaries some time before I bug them. ;)
I don't know too much else. I hope you all have a good start to the day! :goodvibes
I found flights for 104 each on the way back, which isn't bad.
We are calling this our 2nd honeymoon, we plan to stay at POFQ, where we stayed on our honeymoon. I ma so excited to get the chance to vacation without any trouble and drama in our lives, to actually enjoy it and each other.
So who's going from the 31st to the 6th??
I have sooooo much to do and NO time to do it....
I leave for WDW in TEN DAYS!!!!!!!!
I need ADRs!
Oh Kat I am sooo Happy for you:cloud9: I just booked my 2010 trip with another Disser and we are also staying at POFQ!!!:banana:
Ugh, I hate depending on other people to get things done. Hope you can get it done today.
SO...I'm thinking I may go to the mall for an hour or so, just to get out of the house for a bit.:confused3
