Hope everyone has a wonderful Thursday!:goodvibes

OMG, tennis drama...
Good grief - don't these people want to have fun?! Sorry CE; hope it winds up un-dramatic! :hug:

Forgive me, I just don't have the energy to try to catch up.
I'm so sorry hun. :hug::hug::hug: You know I'm sending lots of positive thoughts your family's way.

Who knows, it'll just be a long day.
:hug: Hang in there!

Ooh.. pick me! Pick me! I know exactly what that means! 1-4 means he is reading at a grade level 1 in the 4th month. :teeth: So basically he is reading as well as a 1st grader who's 4 months into the school year. Trust T. ::yes::
O
M
G

:headache: Thanks... but that's not good! He's in 2nd grade and testing at an early 1st grade level?! I listen to him read every night; he's been reading Stanley books. Aren't they like 3rd grade level? Why don't these stupid tests show what kids are really capable of?! Pffffft.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dudes...
I've got AC again!!!!!:banana::banana::banana:
What a difference; my old system couldn't get my house below 79 on a hot day and took about 3+ hours to cool form that to 75 at night. The new system? Maintained 78 all afternoon and went from that to 75 in 5+ MINUTES! :woohoo: Granted, it's not 100 out there now, but it's a HUGE change for the better. :thumbsup2
She was diagnosed today with Stage 2 Ovarian Cancer.
:hug: Your whole family are in my thoughts.
:headache: Thanks... but that's not good! He's in 2nd grade and testing at an early 1st grade level?!
:hug: Crazy. :sad2:
I just read Jane Velez-Mitchell's book iWant about battling addiction. She's a recovering alcoholic and I find her interesting on CNN so even though I thought it wouldn't relate to me, I read it anyway. Well, she talks about all types of addiction including codependency, consumer addiction, eating and being a workaholic. Unfortunately some of those relate to me too. :rolleyes: She's also a vegan and a huge animal activist. I really try to be kind to the environment and don't eat a lot of meat, don't think I could be vegan, but now I realize I need to do more. Not to be preachy, but she has really made me think some of the choices I make may may not be for the best. So if you have any interest, I would recommend her book. :thumbsup2 Next up Kathy Griffin's book. Probably not suitable for discussion here, but I like her so I'll let you know if I recommend hers too. :goodvibes
Well, was it fun? Did you eat bangers and mash? We need details! :rotfl:
No :rotfl2: We had some nibbles, cakes and drinks then a quiz which my table won :yay: and a raffle which I got last prize in :rotfl2: It was an OK evening!
OMG, tennis drama...
Why is nothing ever easy?!?!??
You party animal you!;)
I know :rotfl2:
Without going into bloody details, my SIL has been battling with her insurance, the state, the county, (you name it, she's fought them) to have a tumor the size of a grapefruit removed from her abdomen.
I'm so so sorry T, I hope they get it all :hug:
Night everyone! If I'm not on here at all tomorrow I hope you have a good Thursday!
Get some rest Lori :hug:
I've got AC again!!!!!:banana::banana::banana:
Woooohoooooo
Well I finally went Christmas shopping today, only for the girls though, and well I don't think they're getting much this year!!!! There just isn't anything they want :sad2: So far they have new PJ's, knickers, body spray and hair things not exactly exciting :rotfl2:
T--so sorry to hear about your SIL--prayers for them. :hug: Why is she having so much trouble with insurance?? HMO?
Jo--it's too early for Christmas shopping!
Janet--WAHOO!
V--got A/C!
+++++++++
Ab is home sick....doc said maybe flu...definitely a virus....she got up 30 min ago intent on making 4th period math..and then collapsed back in bed.:sad2:
Thx, I'm interested and am adding it to my list! On what I'm guessing might be a similar note, I've got Food, Inc. lined up in my Netflix queue; I want to see it, but I don't, y'know? :guilty:
Next up Kathy Griffin's book. Probably not suitable for discussion here, but I like her so I'll let you know if I recommend hers too. :goodvibes
Definitely want to hear your take on that - I LOVE KG!
Well I finally went Christmas shopping today, only for the girls though, and well I don't think they're getting much this year!!!! There just isn't anything they want :sad2:
I remember hitting that point around the same age. I also remember asking for things like PJs, socks and turtlenecks, lol!
Don't worry, V. He may not be testing well, especially with boys. Alot of the time they're in too much of a hurry to really pay attention to what they are inputting into the computer. I am NOT a fan of computer testing. :sad2:
You can pretty tell what level he is at. Books now have a RL number on the back. If he's reading books with a 2.3 or above, I'm sure he's fine. :thumbsup2
Fantastic news on the AC!
Next up Kathy Griffin's book. Probably not suitable for discussion here, but I like her so I'll let you know if I recommend hers too. :goodvibes
OOh, I so want to read that one! I love Kathy Griffin.
T--so sorry to hear about your SIL--prayers for them. :hug: Why is she having so much trouble with insurance?? HMO?
Her insurance is HORRID! She has a PPO policy, but the restrictions are CRAZY! Her OOP expense would have been 36K. My brother is disabled, so they were lucky enough to be able to get coverage for my SIL through my DNeph, who is my brother's dependant.
I remember hitting that point around the same age. I also remember asking for things like PJs, socks and turtlenecks, lol!
Maddie hit that age this year! There's nothing she wants, except a laptop, and I'm not feeling that's something an 8 year old should have.
I'm heading out soon to the school, hope everyone has a good Thursday! :goodvibes
Hey, at least the teacher knows this and isn't teaching from the test, if you know what I mean. :hug:
My kids want the Flat Stanley pack from this month's book order - they are listed at something above 3.0, so yes, he's fine. :hug:
Glad you got good A/C! :)
You, too!
**********************************************************
I had a really lot of fun at "fun tennis" this morning, and I played really well. I think I'm improving personally, which is all I really am looking for! :goodvibes
Then, I had to run by the cable office. We have been noticing that periodically our picture from only the cable box (not DVDs or Wii) was getting really jumpy/jerky. If we unplugged it and restarted, it came back great, so it wasn't the TV or the signal in, definitely the box. Anyway, I got a great customer service rep (named V, btw :goodvibes) who was completely honest and said, "Look, I could send a refresh signal and so forth, but it will probably keep happening. Just go trade in your box."
So, I traded in the box, and apparently got the newest coolest HD DVR they have. Woohoo. :rotfl: I'm in the process of setting it up - they had to send a signal and it's doing some loading stuff - I don't know - but it's taking a long time and doesn't look like it's working, yet just when I decide I need to try and start over, something on it blinks. :rotfl2: They did say it could take 15-20 minutes and we're just now at 15.
The next pain will be reprogramming our universal remote to work the new box - because of course it's a different manufacturer and so forth. :rolleyes: I might need to let D deal with that headache... :rolleyes1
Hope you're all having a great morning!
Probably something we all should see but don't want to.
Nice! :thumbsup2 Although I'm dreading when our TiVo dies and we have to get another DVR box for the living room. We have one in the bedroom and it doesn't have some of the TiVo features I really like, mainly being able to flip between the two tuners to watch the auto saved 30 minutes on each channel.
Jo--it's too early for Christmas shopping!
It's only 2 months and we have our WDW trip right before!!!
Ab is home sick....doc said maybe flu...definitely a virus....she got up 30 min ago intent on making 4th period math..and then collapsed back in bed.:sad2:
Hope she gets better soon :hug:
I remember hitting that point around the same age. I also remember asking for things like PJs, socks and turtlenecks, lol!
And were you happy with those pressies? :rotfl2:
Oh my! Already??!!! :faint: I guess I am in denial Christmas is just around the corner. :sad2:
I'm afraid it is :sad2: And yeah Mads is too young for a laptop, heck I was happy with a barbie at her age :rotfl2:
Maybe something extra when you're in WDW? :goodvibes
But that won't solve the stocking :rotfl2: All the relatives are giving $ :thumbsup2 Glad you had a great time at Tennis and hope the DVR thing works :thumbsup2
Hi all. Was going to quote, but I don't have much time. So just a quick hi :wave:
V - Glad you got the AC in working order
Jo - I started Christmas shopping too:thumbsup2
T - I agree about the laptop ::yes::
Angela - I'm on the waiting list at the library for that book:thumbsup2
Hope everyone is having a good day.
Picture day went fairly well. Went to the MRI place to pay the bill (their computer crashed yesterday so they couldn't take my debit card for the co-pay). HAve to pick Jimmy up at 4:15 to take him to the doctor, then bring him home from that and head back to school for the SCience Fair Mandatory Meeting.
BBL:upsidedow
It is NOT to early for Christmas shopping ! I hav most of the girls one and wrapped !!!But with my crazy schedule I have too !!
Ok need some ADR help..... and i'm hoping to do a PTR today too since I could use all the help I can get planning this sucker in 9 freakin days!!!!
We have decided on:
Boma (dinner) my pick
Boma (Breakfast) kc's pick
Cali Grill (dinner) never been before
Narcoossee's (dinner) kc's pick
Yak & Yeti (lunch) Never been before
Brown Derby (lunch)
I am deciding on a character breakfast for our last day in or near the MK.
We are gonna do the desert party as well.
Any criticisms or postive-isms? :)
Planning is the name of the game for the weekend.
Cleaning up, packing, booking. KC's brother is coming over for a bit tonight and tomorrow we need to do laundry and grocery shop and buy some new sneakers for the trip. Sunday night we have a date night. We are going to see video games live, i'm excited, it looks really neat.
Anyways I need to stop procrastinating online and get my self together. Have a great day everyone!
T- prayers being sent your way!
Angela- will you be around the 1st week in Nov for a meet??? We'd love to hang out again!
OMG, tennis drama...
...I hate drama and conflict. :sad2:
Me too! Good luck, I hope it all calms down!
Without going into bloody details, my SIL has been battling with her insurance, the state, the county, (you name it, she's fought them) to have a tumor the size of a grapefruit removed from her abdomen. They finally did that last week only to find out the tumor had cancer in it and so do her ovaries, which they stupidly left in, even after removing her uterus. :confused3 She was diagnosed today with Stage 2 Ovarian Cancer. My brother and my nephew are devastated. Stage 2 isn't a death sentence, I know that, but it's just been blow after blow for my brother and SIL. They a need, no they deserve a break already.
Some good mojo send her way would be greatly appreciated. :goodvibes
Oh T, I'm sorry for her and your family - lots of :hug: and sending the good vibes her way.
Of course you will and will laugh at the times like these. Of course hearing yours, and other teenage woes, makes me very happy mine are still little. :laughing:
And I'm happy mine are grown up :rotfl::rotfl:
That's gotta make the sticker shock a little bit easier to take :thumbsup2
Next up Kathy Griffin's book. Probably not suitable for discussion here, but I like her so I'll let you know if I recommend hers too. :goodvibes
That one's on my nighstand to read too! I'm almost finished the Mackenzie Phillips book - it's like a train wreck I just can't stop reading (as much as it turns my stomach).
Ab is home sick....doc said maybe flu...definitely a virus....she got up 30 min ago intent on making 4th period math..and then collapsed back in bed.:sad2:
Hope she's better soon - and that you don't catch it!
Good choices I think! Although I've never been to Yak & Yeti or Narcoossee's (but I hear that's awesome), we LOVE Cali Grill and Boma's great too. Brown Derby is always our pick at DHS (we love the atmosphere and the Cobb salad is fabulous!)
I'd love to hear what you think if you do the dessert party. I almost signed us up for it in August, but just didn't, so I'd love to get a review.
Hoping you do a PTR!
Hi Fockers!
I'm too tired to quote but here's what I remember...
V - Glad your A/C is working again!
TE - Hope Ab is feeling better!
Jo - I started Christmas shopping this past week as well. DR is basically done. I now need to work on Lindsey and getting her Santa gifts together.
Angela - The first book you suggested sounds really good. I'll have to reserve that one and the Kathy Griffen one from the library over Christmas break. I want to read Chelsea Handlers book. I've heard that one is supposed to funny and good.
Kat - The plans look great!
:wave2: Hi to everyone else I missed!
******************************************************
My day started out early. Went to get my blood pressure cuff from the medical supply place and they were out of stock. :headache: Hopefully next week they'll have them in. I want to get a really pretty one. :laughing:
I had class and lab this afternoon. We were told to come in early and I thought we were having a meeting with the second year Medical Assistant students. We were told not to eat anything just come to class early. Well, come to find out it's Medical Assistant week and we got a free lunch and played a few games instead of having class. :woohoo: We were supposed to have a test and it was cancelled until tommorow. :yay:
We did have lab though and did blood pressures. I hate having mine done because I always end up with a headache. Today was no different. At least my blood pressure is normal.
That's about it for my day. Made dinner and did dishes when I got home and am now relaxing. Thursday is a good TV night for me so I'm getting off to go watch a few DVR'd shows and then CSI and The Mentalist.
Night everyone!
We have one in the bedroom and it doesn't have some of the TiVo features I really like, mainly being able to flip between the two tuners to watch the auto saved 30 minutes on each channel.
With only the one TV hooked up to cable, I don't worry about the two room stuff. I don't know what's any different about this, but the cable lady was really excited to "give you a new one!!!" :rotfl:
But that won't solve the stocking :rotfl2: All the relatives are giving $ :thumbsup2 Glad you had a great time at Tennis and hope the DVR thing works :thumbsup2
Um, nail polish, maybe a really nice pair of earrings or a bracelet or something? Chocolate. ::yes:: :goodvibes
Thanks about the tennis, and we're having a minor DVR problem, but hopefully it's getting fixed. This is the bad part about new technology - getting it to work the right way.
Ok need some ADR help..... and i'm hoping to do a PTR today too since I could use all the help I can get planning this sucker in 9 freakin days!!!!
Are you doing the dining plan? I can't help - I love Boma, but I know you do, too. ;)
Night everyone!
I've probably already missed you, but when I was setting up the DVR to record everything again, I found out that CSI isn't new tonight. :confused3 It's an old one with Grissom.
************************************************
Yeah, so everything is fine except our On Demand stuff won't come up. We do like it for both catching up on shows and for the kids, so that's no good. D had some minor headaches with the universal remote, but seems to have it set now. I've "live chat"ted with Comcast, and tonight's rep isn't quite as, um, helpful. :rolleyes: She supposedly has sent two reset signals to the box, but nothing seems to be happening.
I'm supposed to give it up to an hour. She claims it will work, but I have a feeling I'm going to be on the live chat again. :sad2:
T, the Angels are off to a good start! :goodvibes
They look good to me. Only 2 character meals near the MK that I know of are Chef Mickey's or 'Ohana's. CP inside the MK is my favorite!
I'm exhausted just reading your schedule today :lmao: Glad the MRI went well!
I am ready to pass out!
=========================
My day is FINALLY over:yay: I picked Jimmy up from after-school, took him to his doctor appointment. GOt stuck in traffic on the way home:headache: Did McD's drive through for dinner:sick:, came home, finished up the homework he didn't finish at after school. Left at 6:40 for a meeting that started at 7:00, but that I was supposed to be there for at 6:15:sad2: GOt home about 8:10, got Jimmy's stuff ready for tomorrow while he got his bath. Now I am going to go pass out.
Have a good night!:goodvibes
