Team Focker Watch Chat Part 5.5: The Less-Cursed Version

On a serious note...
A lady we went to church with (and taught Sunday school with) back in Austin was diagnosed with unoperable, incurable cancer about 8 years ago. She's been fighting it every since. Sometimes she's okay and sometimes things are really bad.

She's been in the hospital for a few weeks now and it's been very touch and go. She's developed an infection and pneumonia. She's in critical care around the clock. He hubby has been with her, but had to be evacuated since the hospital she's in is in New Orleans. Her kids and rest of her family is back in Austin, so I guess he's going home until it's safe.

I'm sure it's so terribly hard to leave her and hope that she's safe and the hospital doesn't lose power. We all heard the stories of what went on in the hospitals during Hurricane Katrina. Anyway, I know not everyone here is religious, but maybe just say a prayer if you are and hug your babies hard if you're not.

This thing has me down a bit. I just hate that they've had to go through all of this. I couldn't imagine walking away from Kirt if it was him in the hospital, but my kids couldn't lose both parents .

I just finished organizing all our trip photos! The grand total after many deletions is 2657, not including photopass and video.

Ok my baby turned 3 in July and he is all grown up now-----he is officially potty trained!!!!!!!I cant believe it. I told him I had no diapers left on Monday and he said ok and put on underwear...and the rest was history.

I've had several cysts and fibroids removed. My uterus is messier than a buffet after rush hour.

Addison Riley was welcomed into this world at about 2 this morning weighing in at 7 lbs. 5 oz...and is 19 3/4 inches long.

Noooo honey. Not me. My brother's baby momma...who is 9+ months pregnant. They put her in the hospital and induced and now I have a new niece!!!

OMG! My neighbor's sisters lived in NOLA, that is until Katrina hit. Both their homes were completely flooded. Our neighbor Jerry, has been flying back forth every few months since trying to rebuild for them. I can't imagine all his hard work just going to crap.

I am watching the news now, this is just unbearable for the folks in NO.

It is scary looking. I've been keeping an eye on it in case it turns left.

I was thinking of you if that does turn left. Please tell me you have an evacuation plan

Hi! I didnt get to that part yet... I just sent an E-mail off to David Russo,,DARuss....he lives in LA.. he actually works the computers out on a oil rig in the gulf. Hopefully I`ll hear from him soon! going back to catch up now..I did notice earlier today that Jodi went home..Why didnt they just do the surgery?! Now she has to go through the weekend and Monday in pain!

Well I've just found out I'm going to be an Auntie again, my Step-Brother, the one who got married last year in the Castle, has announced his wife is due in April

I'm here. I slept on the recliner all night (sorta) so that I was somewhat comfortable. The percoset seems to be taking the edge off the pain, but it's still there. But Eric is doing great. He bathed both girls last night and then sent them down to me so that I could comb their hair!

Yep, I'm home. The doc didn't think I was emergent enough to do over the holiday weekend, so I'm home with my percoset. I'm feeling okay as long as I'm not up for any extended periods of time. Sitting in the recliner seems to be most comfortable.

Thanks for the birthday wishes! DH and the girls bought me a cake at the grocery yesterday, although I'm supposed to act surprised later today when they bring it out. I think my BFF and her DH are coming over and maybe my in-laws as well. I told DH that was fine as long as my MIL doesn't start fussing over me. I know she just wants to help, but she just questions everything the doctors say, etc. and it bugs me.

DH took the girls to church this morning and I'm going to try to take a shower and get dressed while they're gone.

No e-mail from DARuss yet. I probably wont get one for a while. I have CNN on..and its scary. I hope everyone leaves this time and takes their pets with them!!! it was so sad to see all those poor animals after Katrina.

I Have to work today. And its a beautiful day outside and a holiday weekend so we will be busy for most of the day.

Hi! Thanks for the well wishes. He's struggling, but doing ok. He has a friend over! I'm so happy about that. He's been avoiding his friends since the panic attacks started so maybe this is a good sign?

About halfway through my aunt's husband calls and says my grandma fell and probably broke her wrist. My aunt headed up to the ER to meet them there. I guess my grandma tripped and landed on her wrist and broke the 2 big boes and then also the 3 little ones. Anyways, they admitted her for the night and has it set in a sling right now and will most likely do surgery tomorrow morning on it. My aunt said the doctor on call didn't want to come in and will just do it tomorrow. I don't know if that's a good thing or not, but I know she was in a lot of pain from it.

Well, Gustav is messing up my idyllic beachy weekend: it's windy, rainy and cloudy here. Not that I'm complaining - it could be far worse.

Yesterday, I did some laundry, read some, swam laps, watched the Gators kill Hawaii, and watched Casablanca. So far today, I've had breakfast, listened to my cat gag on a hair ball, mopped the kitchen and organized Leo's school papers. Next up, I'll begrudgingly work out, do more laundry and read some more. And go grocery shopping. Fun? Not exactly, but it ain't school work!

We sent a LOT of People and a LOT of Supplies from Va. to Louisiana and Mississippi for Katrina.. Should the worst happen... We and the country will do it again.

I honestly wish they would get EVERY LIVING THING out of there and do what "Lot" and his Family were instructed to do ....Leave and DO NOT LOOK BACK.

My grandma had her surgery this morning and is doing OK. My aunt called this morning and said she is in recovery and is tired. She'll be spending the night due to the pain meds she's on but will be going home tomorrow. My dad is going over to see her in a bit and I think the kids and I *might* go with him, but I'm thinking not.

I'm hoping to hear back from the ex about his grandmother. She lives in LA (not in New Orleans...I think she's about 3 hours from there) and I hope she can stay safe. I know when Katrina came through they didn't get much damage but they got some.

My kids are outside playing in the backyard and I just went to check on them. They are sitting on our back deck watching the neighboor boys hang a string from their bedroom windom down to their backyard. And I thought my kids were crazy!

Not much planned for today for us. I have a mountain of laundry to do and need to straighten up some. Plus Linds is now bugging me to play on the computer. I guess that is my cue to be booted off here and get cleaning.

Can you remember ages ago I posted a photo of the nest a dove made behind our sattelite dish? Well the first lot of eggs got taken by another bird and they abandoned the nest, well apparently they laid more and we have 2 babies I wanted a closer look so leaned out of the bathroom window and they're enormous but weren't moving at all, I called D and he agreed they were dead So we thought we'd better get rid of the nest before they start smelling, when D went up the ladder though they were breathing They're just very quiet still birds

I'm not really a cleaner and it's truly one of my worst downfalls, but I'm realizing with both kids being in school I can get a lot done with them gone. Of course as soon as they walk in the door my nice clean house is shot to heck, but at least it looks good for an hour or so.
