Kat-    I feel your pain sweetheart. May the memories stay in your heart forever.

Katt- The biting story in thread 3 was hilarious!:rotfl2: I new more people had Tink stories!

T- So glad your DB is okay and I hope he learned his mixing meds lesson of the decade!

V- Glad you made it back okay, I hope work was good.

Hi Katt! No, I'm not an illusion---just a shopping obsessed nut right now. When I get a shopping project, I can't stop. I'll take pics of my living room when I get in done (which may be in 6 weeks if we have to order)
Can't wait to see photos!

I see halfway thru your family info... no more below that...
That's what I can see too Jen!

Well it's pissing it down here (can I say that? :rotfl2: ) and thankfully the lady I was playing golf with agreed not to play, I am meant to be catching up with the housework though :sad2: as you can see by me being on here that I'm hard at work already :rotfl2:

Thought it was about time I did a little trippie of what I did on Sunday!

I drove to my Sisters (Emma) about 10am so we could catch the train into London which took about 30 minutes. We then walked from Waterloo Station to Hatton Square where the Chocolate making was being held. Em works, well when she's not on maternity leave, in London so she knows where she's going. It took about 30 minutes though and I was glad I'd put on comfy shoes!

Some of the sites we saw on the way!

As it was a Sunday there were no restaurants open where we were so as we had about 1.5 hours before the course started we jumped on the tube and went to Oxford Street. This was really busy and we ended up going to Carluccios for lunch, I had a lovely lasagne and then we stupidly had dessert, I had Lemon tart which again was very nice.

We were now a bit pushed for time so jumped back on the tube and made it back just in time. It was in a strange building, looked like an old factory or something and we were glad we would be leaving when it was still light IYKWIM!

We were in a group of about 12 people and had a lovely girl called Rose who was an actress/musician as our instructor. She showed us how to make several things (fudge, praline, vanilla truffles) all the time telling us about the history of chocolate and getting us to taste samples ranging from the actual cocoa bean to a dark chocolate with chilli in :scared:

We all got to help her and I was first helping her whip up the cream and butter, lets just say it was slightly messy and cream went everywhere :rotfl2:

After helping to make lots of goodies and attempt to pipe out truffles we had a short break where we could stuff ourselves with marshmallows dunked in chocolate, this is where we started to really regret having dessert at lunch :rotfl2:

After the break this is what we saw.

045.jpg

A piece of fudge and praline, lots of bowls of melted chocolate and several toppings like cocoa powder, white chocolate shavings, coconut, sprinkles etc. Rose showed us how to cut up our fudge into shapes and dunk it into chocolate and decorate. This became very messy and is soooooo much harder than it looks :rotfl2: She then brought around the truffles which we also dunked in!

Have a look!!!!!

We had lots of fun but it definitely is harder than you think it is, I'm glad we did it (it was a present from our Dad) but don't think I'd do it again. I will definitelty have a go at making caramel though as Rose made it look so easy!

Jo: You look AWESOME in those photos....wth are you talking about?

Don't be so critical girl. With that backdrop, how could you look bad? It looks like tons of messy fun! I'm jealous. But, mostly of you getting to gad about in London! Chocolate doesn't turn me on, but those buildings...the history. Sigh!

Lucky girl. And pretty too. :) Thanks for the pics!

You can go to the podcast area and click on the Listen Live button.
Nope, can't do that either - I'm usually DISing at work. :ssst:
Aren't they? It makes you realize that even in Disney you have to be aware of your surroundings!
I'll tkae that another step and say especially in Orlando be aware of your surroundings - it's not the best city for safety.
:lmao: So you don't have a pod to pisten? :lmao:
Sorry, V - that was funny. :teeth:

We went on it a few years ago and honestly it goes sooooooo slow you can't even tell it's moving, David hates heights and he was fine, lovely views from up there!

We've said we need to do more stuff like that and spend time together!

Jo - that looks like fun. That is some sad looking chocolate, but I would still eat it.

Jo, making chocolate in London looks much better than making chocolate in the mall in Orlando. :sad2: Cute photo of you and your chocolate btw!

I'll tkae that another step and say especially in Orlando be aware of your surroundings - it's not the best city for safety.

Went to Church Street Station oonce and that was scary. Not once you were there, but driving around trying to find it:scared:

I don't do ferris wheels at all. I used to until my mother told me the story about when she was on the one in Atlantic City and when they were at the very top, the engine caught fire:scared1:

Yes again, you're good at this translating aren't you :rotfl2:

You have taught me well Yoda:yoda:

Try being English, I'm sure your wait staff know that our normal tip is only 10% so always like to remind you about 18% tip :sad2: I hate that!

Yeah but to me I'd rather do it in Orlando :rotfl2:

I went there when I was little  oh and my Dad being the helpful man he is once took someone (who we hadn't known long) into downtown Orlando to pick up their car, my Mum killed him when he got back, at least he got back though!

You have taught me well Yoda:yoda:
You're a good student :rotfl2:

I just read that slate. One of the comments I had to respond to. THe person stated that all charged tips are converted to cash at the end of the night....

It's funny becasue mom & I were talking about this the other night, becasue she does the close out at AP sometimes (gets paid a whole extra 50 cents hour is she does that:thumbsup2 ), anyway she told me that charged tip are put into the employees next paycheck, and not converted to cash at the end of the shift. That is why alot of the servers wanted the tip taken out of the DDP too.

I'm not English and I hate it too
