Do you send gifts in on Teacher Appreciation Day, the last day of school, or both?

My option is not on there-- I send gifts for Christmas and the end of the year- not teacher appreciation week since the PTA takes care of the teachers that week.

Ditto - just sent the kids with their Barnes and Noble gc's.

I send Christmas, Teacher appreciation week and end of year gifts.

Christmas and year end gifts tend to be more of a personal gift for the teacher. Teacher appreciation week, I tend to send in things the teacher needs for the classroom, since this is what the PTA has asked us to do.

Also for teacher appreciation week, the PTA has a sign up for potluck dinner for the week. Each day has a theme (taco day, soup and salad etc), so I also contribute to that.

The teachers don't mind getting supplies for their classroom during teacher appreciation week since the schools are strapped for supplies.

I do gifts before winter break and again at the end of the school year. Our district does a teacher appreciation luncheon at each school and asks for donations so I give something for that.

Thanks for the reminder by the way. I have to get over to Starbucks today to get GC since tomorrow is our last day.

When I was a kid, my mom sent a gift on the last day before Christmas break and on the last day of school.

Other-we gave gifts in elementary school at Christmas and the last day of school--usually a gift card to the book store.

I said other... I went to a local bakery on the last day of school- got a couple dozen cookies and took them to the office. They put them in the teachers lounge for everyone to share.

I said both but I guess I should of said other because I did Christmas as well. That covered his regular teacher, intervention, and specials (gym, music, etc)

We don't do anything past elementary school. Our district really discourages it, and the kids have way too many teachers. My kids do write nice cards for the holidays.

For elementary school, we send a small gift card at the holidays. The room parent usually takes up a donation from those that want to contribute at teh end of the year and gives the teacher a class gift.

It's all very low key, and in general, the district likes it that way. There is a charitable fund set up in memory of a child who died of cancer, and many teachers ask that families contribut to that in lieu of gift giving if they are so-inclined.

This is what I do and only through elementary school. The head class mom collects $5 a kid at Christmas and the end of the year and the teacher gest a nice gift card. I always send a small gift too($20-$25)
