Target 20% off coupon

Plus, another argument on while it most probably will work is they used to offer the buy $50 of gift cards and get a $10 Target Card. That was an effective 20% discount that could be used to get Disney Cards

Well, I just called Target customer service and they say it won't work on entertainment cards.

Of course, I'm still going to try it.

It says 'limit, one per customer' but usually there is no way for Target to prevent you from lining up twice.

Nancy

Actually in this case I think they would be able to prevent you from recieving it twice... b/c you're using the Red Card to maximize your savings they could easily restrict it by CC# even if you had more than one in your hand... if you were willing to use a different card for a transaction than I guess so...

just want to say we bought 1000 in gc on debt red card and it was declined because of amount we then called target while standing in line and they told the person at regester to give us 5% off using our regular debt card ......went back week later bought the rest we needed for our trip same thing register said no we explained what happened last time she called over manager and she said you don't get 5% on these gc I explained that we do and had no problem last time she then said this is a HUGE problem I am going to call coprate because this is am error in the system so we called target again and they said she was wrong and told us to pay then give them the receipt number(she waited on the phone until we checked out) and then she refunded our 5% so we didn't have to deal with that manager again. so if debt card won't work due to amount just call number on the card they will help you after this experience we took a deep breath and drove to the airport wdw made us feel better.

I've never had any problem buying Disney GCs with red card but I have a sinking feeling it won't work with 20%off coupon

Can anyone tell me what is the difference between an entertainment card and a gift card? Who decides the difference and one more question are there any other entertainment cards at Target?
I have never heard of the term entertainment card.

It is strictly a term in Target's system. I believe the only "gift cards" are Target gift cards and any credit card gift cards like Visa. All other cards that anyone else would call gift cards, that are to any of the restaurants and Disney, Target considers "entertainment cards".

I just noticed that the Black Friday purchases have to be at midnight CST, so that is 1am EST for those of us on the East Coast.

yeah - it's ridiculous as you have to wait until then... But I will buy a $50 Disney GC and then use the 20% off with many more...

Let's hope it works. I want to buy $4k-$5k worth of cards. I have been mapping out my shopping strategy every night before I fall asleep for the last couple weeks. I have decided there isn't a whole lot that I want on the "doorbusters" sales. If I decide to get anything, then I need to get there before 8pm, wait in line, put it in my cart before it is all gone, then wait for 5 hours to check out so it will count towards a coupon!! Not sure if there is anything that is worth it to me.

I think I will just go buy some basics on BF instead --- if I buy anything I have to return it will negate the 20% coupon, so I don't want to buy a gift then change my mind and return it. I'll buy GCs for others as Xmas presnets, and some food and hosuehold staples. To be safe, I am going to break up purchases and try and get multiple coupons, in case they take the GC but put a cap on it. I just hope they DO take the GCs!!! I will be pretty devastate if they don't.

The other thing complicating it is I have 2 5% off coupons. One I can use on BF, and one I can use with the 20%. But if it doesn't work to use with the 20% and I cancel the order, not sure if my 5% off is still "pristine" and I can use it again later - for example; if they come out with that facebook $50 GC equals $10 GC.

It does say right on it that you can't combine it with other storewide coupons. So you might not be able to combine a 5% off coupon with the 20% one.

ok again I am confused???? You can only get the 20% coupon if you shop right at midnight? Are you talking about just shopping online? Even that makes no sense. Even tho some stores are opening on Thursday I thought it said shop on black friday spend the amount get the coupon. It is beginning to sound like its a bit to crazy for me.

No You have to spend at least $75 in one transaction on Black Friday. You can do it at midnight if you want, or you can do it at noon or 2 pm. The coupon isn't good until Dec 1-7.

Exactly. You have to shop during a certain timeframe on Black Friday and also spend more than $75 and you will then get a 20% off coupon for a single in-store visit valid dec 1-7.

I had to laugh at this post. Sounds similar to my situation. You almost need a PhD to figure out the best approach!! I also have 2 pharmacy 5% coupons. I plan to use one on BF and the other when I return with my 20% coupon. However, it sounds like the 5% won't work with the 20% coupon. Also, we really don't know if the 20% coupon will work on the gift cards (I'm doubtful). So, whats the best approach if you have BOTH gift card purchases and other items on Dec 1? If you ring everything up together and hand over the 20% coupon and it DOESN'T work on the GC's but it does work on the merchandise, can you then give them the 5% pharmacy coupon for the GC's??? Or will the system not allow both together even though they apply to different products? This gives me a headache. :headache:

Not sure why you are doubtful about the 20% working on gift cards. The fine print is similar to the discount fine print for red card. Disney gift cards are not treated like target gift cards.

I know . . . I've used my red card and pharmacy coupon to purchase Disney gift cards on multiple occasions. I really do hope this one works. However, I did attempt to use another discount coupon (can't remember exact coupon - something like $5 of $50 or something of that nature) before to purchase a Dis gift card @ Target. In that case, it did not work. So, I suspect it depends on the particular coupon. Guess we'll just have to wait and see.
