ok..I have a 13 year old...was she an angel in every store we went to? HECKKKKKKKKKKKK NOOOOOOOOOO...would i remove myself and her if she had a fit? HECKKKKKKKKKKKK YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

I CANNOT fathom how anyone would think it's ok for their child to act up in a store. Perhaps I was a bad mother that never had to run out for diapers because I chose to use CLOTH diapers? So I don't want to hear that you HAD to run to the store for ANY reason.

If your kid is acting up...REMOVE THEM..

I was a single mother, no baby sitters when i needed to 'go to the store', I just simply made sure that if i needed formula, i STOCKED UP..i didn't say 'i need diapers' because I did the cloth diaper thing..sorry..it's lazy not to...

On my way home from work I would buy formula or what I needed for the house to MAKE SURE i did not bring a baby to the store. There are wayyy too many germs to be exposed to, wayyy to many people, and wayyyyyyyyy too much noise. I was a SINGLE MOTHER and accomplished this.

so all you people that say they need to take their screaming heathens to a store to shop..get over it...leave them at home or don't get mad when people sneeze on them. If you don't want the parents that can control their children and can teach them manners (like a two year old having a pacifier..what is THAT???that's bad parenting is what it is)then I would suggest using the same credit card you use to pay the internet to pay for a grocery store that delivers. There are many of them.

I don't want to see your out of control kids and have it blamed on ADD or some other crap...swat the kids butt...pay attention to them, get off the computer, and then maybe they will respect you.

You seem so lovely

I don't know why you would bring up ADD or pacifiers (I am a FABULOUS parent and my children LOVED to suck and still slept with Nuks at 2 years old..Bad manners? I don't think so ) or sneezes, or online credit card use, etc. :confused3

You just seem so, well, um out of control. You ok? :scared:

For someone who just joined, you sure seem to like to stir things up, don't you? Between this and the president thread. I am absolutely not going to respond to an attack like this except to say I do what works for me. :wave2:

Just so we are all clear here:
Not removing a screaming child...bad
Taking your kid out...bad due to those ever present germs
Pacifier...bad and just downright bad parenting
Disposible Diapers...bad and lazy
Not preparing for the eventualities of life (meaning needing to shop with your kid)...bad
Computer use...bad I mean use the computer and your kids lose all respect for you
Noise...bad
ADD...bad and not real

Anything I missed?

Being terribly judgemental of a whole variety of parenting decisions....priceless

I thought it was funny too.... :teeth:

Also wanted to ask since my second daughter had a cleft palate and couldn't actually suck until 8mo old do I get a little more leeway on the pacifier use before my parenting becomes bad....just wondering? :confused3

There was spanking, but I'm not sure if the poster was in favor of it or not.

Oh, and formula is OK. (Not saying "breast is best" but that most people who are anti-pacifiers and pro-cloth diapers are also pro-breastfeeding.)

Oh, and for the record, I keep a pack of disposables on hand becuase many times, I'm too lazy to remember to wash all my cloth - they do take time to dry!

Hey, at least your Sweetie had a medical issue...You may be excused by our new ruler.

My kids just had a strong suck reflex. They weren't crazy about the bottle, but, golly, they loved that Nuk. Me too! With 3 children under the age of two, it made our evenings so much calmer. :thumbsup2

good grief...could you people please take some constructive criticism?

As far as my other posts, i have been EXTREMELY respective, and I don't appreciate your attitude.

Ok--this is just too much.

Saying that NOT using cloth diapers is just lazy???

Then telling us it's constructive criticism, and you're being respective (maybe respectful is the word you were looking for).

Please, give all of us lazy, horrible parents a LITTLE more credit for being smarter than you clearly think we are.

Well at least you being up is for a purpose. I've been dealing with insomina. Just can't seem to get over it. So hear I am playing on the dis and other places. Hopefully I'll be over it in a few days. If I'm lucky.

I'm sorry. You know what to do, round the boys up tomorrow, head to the mall, and march them all over it. Then you'll ALL be so tired, you'll sleep. :lmao:

And, by mentioning shopping, and the Mall, I've attempted to get us back on topic. (sorry OP)

No worries, I'm QUITE sure if your family needed you, you would find another reason to post on the DIS with your 7k posts.

I just hope that all people that can't control their children (as your previous threads have mentioned) can spend as much time ignoring that fact and correcting the problem to post like you!!

You are TRULY a person to be respected!! (by anyone other than your family that is)..but..that will come out when all of your posts are displayed as the reason the internet is 'sooooooooo goooood' for families....

keep posting girl!! you do nothing but further my point!!! luv ya!!!

When did I say I can't control my kids? Really if your here just to cause problems find another place to play.

I think being disturbed by normal childhood behavior....like a little whining (I"m not talking out of control) is like being disturbed by older people.

Like me saying....I hate being in line behind the old lady who has to chat all day to the cashier.

Truth is, we share the earth with lots of other people in many different stages of their lives, and the more tolerant we are, and the less we let things bother us, the happier we will be.

Wow, I didn't know that I was starting something so big! :rotfl:

This was NOT in a grocery store or Target or anything and these mothers were definitely not the "run in and get what we need and run out" type. Both times they were dilly-dallying through the designer pocketbook section :rolleyes1 . Both times the kids were not toddlers but older. I wasn't judging the situation, I am sure I will be in their shoes one day, I was just surprised.

I will be the first to entertain a cranky child or teenager or friend, I am known for carrying around cool stuff in my pocketbook (stickers included) for whatever situation may arrise. :thumbsup2

You know, I don't understand how this thread morphed itself into what it has. Just another DIS-ism, I guess. :confused3

Do you all know what kind of stores Daffy's and Century 21 are? They are the type of store with mega deals and they are usually very crowded in NYC. I have 5 kids and I usually don't bring them with me when I power shop like that so I understand perfectly what the OP is saying. If you're powershopping try not to drag your kids along or at least make some accomodations for them, like books and snacks. I don't see it as a behavior issue necessarily in this case as I think the kids were within their rights to revolt. lol

As a child I would be dragged to the pattern store and my mom would spend hours it seemed looking for patterns to sew for us. I would rather gouge my right eye than live thru that again. lol

Ouch...I remember...fabric stores were the worst!!
