Good morning. It's beautiful outside right now. It rained overnight and everything is fresh smelling. It's 66 now going to a high of 82, which beats the 92 we got to yesterday. Will be 88 again tomorrow. I did get all of the lawn mowed and a few spots weedwacked yesterday morning before it started getting too warm. I was done by 10:30.

Amazingly, the Amazon courier found the correct house to leave my order, although he did drive up the driveway and leave it at the back door. They aren't supposed to drive onto people's property and my pkgs are to be left on the front porch. But at least they made it, for the first time in 4 orders.

I've already dusted and vacuumed, changed out the litter boxes, and cleaned the bathrooms. Done with chores for the day.

Have a nice Friday

I’m irritated too with the whole TV situation. We still have cable but we have it whittled down to very basic services. I like being able to watch what I want, when I want, without having to subscribe to something, plus streaming prices have gotten ridiculous, too. We have strange set ups in our house with our TVs having cable boxes but the TV in our family room, which used to be DS’s room, has a massive TV and streaming, and in the apt DD has the same. They know how to work them, they drive DH and I crazy sometimes. I’m not sure what the answer is.
I'm set on figuring out the answers. This morning I picked up a smaller smart TV for my bedroom at Costco. I had a choice of one in the 43 inch size (new stock, basically same tv with a higher price) instore as the old stock was sold out. There are 4 online with same discount prices I'd seen in the store a couple weeks ago. Plus the old and new versions of what I bought.

The 50 inch I have is too big a TV for the size of the room. It was moved out of my room and into the family area and I'm watching tv there when I choose to since cutting the cord on Wednesday.

Mostly I'm shuffling through all the apps on the TV. Found Judy Justice and watched that with ads. Saw Wicked For Good offered free this month and may take a look at that. The Xfinity package is now in my name as it was a deal for new customers only so they shuffled it from DD to me with our same agreement; I pay phones she pays internet. We now have gig internet, Disney + and Hulu for 5 years, and Peacock for 3 years plus an unlimited phone line for one year for $70 plus the fees as a 'new' customer rate. This deal was available instore until April 30. The 2nd phone is $30 unlimited. We put DD on the second line as she can shop other 'deals' whenever she wants to get a new phone. ATT has one going on now but she's not sure what she wants. Cable TV is gone and reincarnated as streaming.

I moved into my house in 1989. At the time cable tv was $26. Eventually they jacked it up a couple of $$ and I turned it off, mostly because 1 night I woke up to a sound and my very young son - 6 or 7yo, was in his sisters room while she slept watching MTV. Plugged in the antenna and cable did not appear again until the kids paid for it themselves - I had no time or interest as a working single mother. Oh and AOL dial up came along in the mid-nineties. Grandpa supplied the computer for the kids so now they were on a different path then actual TV. Edit, that was my time to fight with Ma Bell, (Bell Atlantic in our area, as it morphed into Verizon.) I had a second line for the desktop computer, and when we didn't need a line anymore, Verizon couldn't split the account to allow me to keep our original line - the one all our contacts had. We had all moved to cell phones and I had cut all house phones. (The internet was now over the new cable which was free for several years as two older kids got Comcast jobs while in school.) And then I had to change all the contacts to my cell. Nothing was easy like it is today where you just bring over your contact list when you get a new phone.

I can easily live without TV or streaming if I chose to. Both DD and I are internet people more than TV for itself. It's always been part of a package so we've had it. Now it's there in a different form and I'll make some use of it as I have the actual cable that we had prior to now having streaming services.

We are not people who turn it on first thing in the morning. But by evening I like to have the noise while I relax a bit. Later it becomes a noise machine as I fall asleep...

Good morning. Cloudy here now, it is 50 with temps heading to the mid 50s here. Owen has a soccer game I am going to, Ethan's was canceled as the other team had too many players away with it being the start to school vacation week. I hope to get some housework done. Watched the last episode of The Pitt for the season. It was very good and did tie up some loose ends and left enough to build another season on. I may watch it again. My friend and I have our plans for our trip pretty much decided. We just need to make reservations for the Puffin watch. I am sure not many people will be interested in mid May in Maine.

Have a good day.

Early good morning hugs from CA. Love extra to Easyas, Pea, and Taz.

God's grace, I got approved for more PT today. I am praying more OT will follow. I need therapy 4 times a week at least. How blessed I am to truly know at heart God's full recovery miracle is ahead of me. I am blessed indeed.

Happy Saturday, friends.

Good morning. 58 now heading for 88 again. Yesterday it stayed at 78, which felt nice with a breeze. Tomorrow is supposed to be a high of 56.

I puttered around yesterday doing little things, caught up on some shows. Tomorrow I will plant the gardenia's while it's cooler outside. I just changed out the room darkening blinds in my master bedroom. They were from Lowe's and one of them all of sudden wouldn't stay clipped at the top and kept falling down. I had 2 brand new ones from Walmart (like the rest of the house). When I needed them for the bedroom, Walmart didn't have the size in stock, thankfully they got more in. I put those up and now they will stay up without falling every time I try to put the blind down.

Off to find something else to get into.

Have a good Saturday

Hi! I am reading here, and don’t have too much going on. We had subscribed to Acorn last month, and this month Britbox because each has series that we like…while I am dealing with mobility and pain issues, I have completed some series I have watched though the years.

I’m a Phillies fan, and they have been horrible so far! I’m enjoying Jeopardy, and wish Jamie continued success!

@flyingdumbo127, looking forward to hearing you have renewed PT sessions!

Blinds - I have dark gray ones from Ikea for my bedroom. Most other rooms are white. These are relatively cheap as I can do them myself. The do 'spring' every so often and then I have to replace but since the hardware is already installed I just have to click it off and click the new one on.

I priced out the designer ones and I didn't feel they were worth the money for me.

Oh it's dog bath Saturday. If he bites me he's in trouble - I won't be cooking any soft eggs for him. He's all but stopped eating unless he gets a little pampering and every morning I look to see if he's made it through the night. He has multiple accidents during the day and falls just doing one step, so it's puppy pads.

Got up early and started on the lawn and brush. That stuff grows too fast!

I totally agree about designer ones not being worth it for me either. Mine didn't spring, and it was clipped into the hardware, but for some reason, the left side kept unhooking itself. I went to pull the blind down to keep the sun out, and almost got hit in the head with it. This was the third time it happened. so the whole blind and hardware went in the trash.

I hear you. This weather has made the grass grow like crazy. I just did mine Thursday, and if I wanted to be really picky, I could do it today, but trying to hold off until Monday. Calling for 56 and rain tomorrow, which we need, so hopefully that will slow down the growing for a day or so.

What a great idea to fill an otherwise boring time! (My username character would wholeheartedly approve. :thumbsup2)

Hope you're back on your feet soon! (And you too, Mona!)

Bobbiwoz Glad you have been watching some good series. Hope you are able to get up and around better soon. I need to subscribe to Britbox.

Good morning. It is 47 here now and foggy. Rain coming in soon. I am heading to breakfast with Jeff so hopping the rain holds off while I am on the highway. I know I will be coming back in the rain. I like to go out a couple of times a year with each son to touch base and talk. It is hard to do that with the kids around, not that I don't love the time I spend with them, but I want to spend some time with my kids. Yesterday the soccer game was canceled as too many kids were out sick. It is school vacation week now. Kenny and family are heading to NYC. I gave him the be careful, watch the kids, watch the people, and keep to your self advice.

Yesterday I went crazy cleaning with carpet cleaning and hardwood floor cleaning so now every floor in my condo is clean. I also cleaned the bathrooms, changed the bed, and brought bags of old clothes to the collection box. I was sore and tired by the end of the day. I am taking a breather today.

Have a good Sunday.

Good morning. Rained overnight, showers this morning. It's 48 out now going to a high of 54. Then temps will start climbing again. It's nice to have a day that's a bit cooler. I left the windows open last night and woke to the wind howling and blowing the curtains all around. I had to get up and shut all the windows in the house and turn the ceiling fans off. It's not cool enough to need the heat today, but may need it tonight if it gets down to 34 like they say.

I had 4 more bags of mulch on the other side of the house waiting to go in those flower beds, so I got that done yesterday morning before it got too warm. I noticed them when I hung the sheets on the line to dry, I guess I had put them out of my mind until then. My back paid for it later, but all the weeding and mulching is done. Now it's just mowing, planting my herb garden and waiting for the garden place to get in their veggie plants so I can get 4 big tomato plants to put in.

Have a nice Sunday.

Last year was tough for gardens. I hope we have better luck this year. Good you’re doing a few things, anyway. Hope your back feels better. We’ve been trying to get out all weekend for yardwork, but it’s cold and rainy. Just heard thunder. Have to rake a lot of sticks and leaves, and we’re still burning all the brush that fell off trees during the storm, but only if it’s not windy or wet. We’ll be at it till summer, I’m sure, there is a lot to burn. I’d really like to have some trees taken down that are all broken, too, but there are so many other things to do, as well. Pick and choose, I guess. For Christmas DS got DH a birdfeeder that has a camera, and that’s been fun to watch the different birds up close that show up.
