How to handle line cutting?

I absolutely do not believe that Disney's return to queue alternative involves having people wade through the entire standby line to meet their party all the way at the end. They may not specify over the phone, but in reality I am sure you are meeting up via the LL queue or another alternative meeting method. There is just no way that they are requiring/advocating for someone to maneuver past a 2hr queue to join up. Catch up at the LL merge or get let in a side door near your party makes perfect sense.
Each attraction is different. Here’s a copy and paste from Disney’s explanation.

Attraction Queue Re-Entry or Meet-Up

Guests with specific needs that may arise while waiting in an attraction queue may exit the queue while the rest of their party waits in the queue. The Guest may then re-enter the queue prior to boarding the ride. A Guest may also wait outside the queue and meet up with their party before boarding the ride if needed based on the nature or condition of the queue at a particular attraction and the Guest’s specific needs. Every attraction has a defined process to support these options.

Has anyone been told by the CM at the ride that the re-entry or meetup procedure is "just walk past everyone in the standby line until you get to your party"? Disney isn't posting the specifics because it varies by attraction (LL, side door, escort, other), but there is no way that the actual procedure is to barge into a 60min line to meet up with your party near the boarding area.

I also don't say anything and just let them pass in regular lines (I'm always in LL queue) because I don't know the situation (maybe they had a bathroom situation, etc). What gets me is when people start aggressively pushing past you at GoTg as you make your way from show to ride queue. breaking up my larger party, I will say excuse me, this is my party and I'm trying to stay with them. As others have said, its pointless to let it ruin my day, but if you start tromping on smaller children in my group to push past, I can't let that go as easily.
I sooo wish Disney would not set lines up like this. They are just asking for problems. I wish they'd do them all like they had Great Movie ride. There is NO reason the can't just continue the line through the preshows. Yes, the room with the rocket ship or whatever would need to change a bit, but TOTALLY worth it. Throwing everyone into unorganized huge rooms just to then have them get back into an orderly line is insane.

This x1,000 ... GoT is the worst line design ever. I have seen quasi-fights and aggressive pushing in the open areas once the doors open. I get the comments that some prefer to take a step back and be towards the back/left side of the rooms. But is it fair or does it make sense to have over 100 people in front of you that were not really supposed to be there?

It feels to me Disney is too hands-off and it is easy to always use the "let's not disturb the magical moment" argument. In a world where people seem to be losing most references of politeness and proper education, it will only make the experience less and less pleasant.

Every single place is monitored by cameras. With the marvelous AI tools under our disposal, It would be quite easy to identify the offenders and give them warnings. Repeat the behavior, get kicked off the park (gently and magically kicked off, if that's how the mouse prefers).

It does seem like there should still be some sort of queue in that room. I hope they fix this when the re-open RNRC - that one was almost as bad. In fact, how about Disney just do away with all of the pre-shows with masses of humanity? Dinosaur, MMRR...probably forgetting a few. Dinosaur as an example - why do it that way? Indy in DL is nothing like that and also has a pre-show to convey safety info. Do it like that.

I don't notice it too much in ride queues at Disney, but what irritates me is line cutting at rope drop. It is usually one or two men waiting near the front of the line, then 20-30 minutes later the rest of the family show up, usually 2 or more families. It's ridiculous. This happens almost every time.
Get your family up if you want to be at the front of the line.

They wouldn't have to worry about it if they didn't purposely design a line that asks for problems. Disney has a lot of accountability on this. They designed it; they're not idiots they knew this going in and they could easily fix, but they dont care to.

How about a somewhat middle ground. Let them pass but tell them that next time their friends should just wait for them.

I just read an article about a gentleman that was arrested for supposedly pushing a 18 year old female when she and her friend tried to get past him “to meet up with a friend” farther up the line. I am not condoning his actions but it got me thinking how do you keep people from cutting front of you in a cue line- not a merge point line where you have to fill in all available space?
Is there a proper way? I have been known to announce loudly that they should have all gotten in line together and sorry but they arent getting in front of me and just because all the people behind me didnt mind them getting in front of them i am not allowing it and they can stand behind me. Is that correct or should just let them go in front of you?
No. Don’t start a fight unless you want to end up trespassed from Disney. You can always report it to a CM.

There is a time and a place to call out people’s bad behavior and put them in their place. Disney is not that time or place. If you start something with someone over line cutting it can turn ugly and it will just end up ruining your day and possibly your whole vacation. It’s not worth it for your own sake. I am there to have a good time and have fun with my family, not to worry about other people. I don’t care if someone cuts the line. It does not happen (to me anyways) very often. Im not going to ruin my day and my mood and my vacation by letting it upset me. As Elsa says…Let it go!

And of course, you don’t know the circumstances of why someone is going ahead anyways. In other words…mind your own business. And if something is happening badly enough or is unsafe, tell a CM.

I let people pass, but not because I don't care about line cutting. It happens to us quite frequently. It's irritating because it's rude behavior, but I quickly forget about it and enjoy my day. I wish Disney would monitor the lines better and address the line cutting. The worst instance was when a young man and companion cut through the entire twisty turny Seven Dwarves line in a scooter and laughed the entire time. I'm shocked no one was injured, but people were literally pressed against the walls and ropes trying to avoid being hit.

I was checking into a WDW Swanolphin hotel after a really terrible Brightline experience. Standing there waiting politely behind someone who was obviously inebriated (and currently drinking wine) as she was taking a very long time to check in.

A second front desk person came out and the women behind me walked over and cut me in line. Once she finished up and walked away I made sure to give her the stink eye as I walked over and mentioned that she'd cut in front of me. The front desk person gave me a $ credit, which helped cover the destination fee for the resort.

Generally I prefer dedicated status lines. I've never been cut in front of in a LL, I can tell you that much.
