The Official VILLAS at DISNEYLAND HOTEL (Discovery Tower) Owners and Fans Info Thread

What's wrong with some morning could cover shielding us from the burning sun while we run from ride to ride? I like June gloom. Then by the afternoon when we're tired of running and the rides are getting crowded, it's sunny again--perfect for some character photos
Ok…. well when you live in the Pacific Northwest you don’t want to go to So Cal just to get more gloomy cloud cover….

Need help planning: May 30-June 2

Arriving from East Coast on the afternoon of May 30 with with my teenage son. Staying in a deluxe studio. Couple of questions:
1) We booked a transfer from LAX with Karmel but got much cheaper quotes from Golden West and MidiWil. Have people had any recent experience with Golden West and MidiWil?

2) Would like to rope drop DCA on Monday, June 1. What is the better entrance to use? The downtown Disney entrance or the one through Grand Californian? Would like to try to get Radiator Springs.

3) Starting in Disneyland on Sunday, May 31 - use the downtown Disney entrance with the Sorcerer's hat? It is grad night at DCA that evening. When should we hop over to DCA and plan on leaving to avoid crowds? Should we stay for World of Color or wait until Monday night?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

I agree. Anyone have access to the condo association property description? Maybe the laundry room and gym are carved out as commercial space or otherwise separated and shared with the rest of the hotel as far as maintenance goes. I expect it’s like the gym at BRV that’s shared with WL and CCV.

It will be listed as to how that space was categorized. It’s not a commercial space.

My guess is that it’s similar to VDH in that it’s a shared space.

(Psssst… as a fellow human lacking in melatonin…..clouds don’t block UV rays…. you still get sunburn)

I know. I just feel like my skin is on fire in the sun. 🤣 The clouds at least help with feeling the heat. We actually just watch the UV index on the weather app and apply/reapply sunscreen based on that. I'm slathered in it most of the day, unfortunately. It's sensory nightmare but skin cancer is no joke (my husband has had both melanoma and basal cell carcinoma....probably from spending his youth at the beach.)

I like the very thin and breathable Columbia long sleeve shirts that act as SPF.

Everyone in our family (including my wife) wears the Disney branded long sleeve swim shirts when we go to the pool for the same reason.

If anyone is at the resort, DVC is having a instant win game for gift cards up to $250 until 5/11. There are signs in the lobby and Star View Station (and probably anywhere with a DVC salesperson). You scan the QR and enter you info, but you need to be on Disney wi-fi. I won a $100 gift card, so I spent over $100 on things I normally don't buy like LLSP (Disney math). My friend entered after me and won $10. I didn't see anyone else scan the sign, so I don't think people are entering. Good Luck!

My husband wears long sleeve shirts in the park too. I sweat so much that I haven't tried that yet. Where do you get your swim shirts? I have one (non-Disney) that I got on amazon but haven't worn it yet. Thinking I will try it out at VGC this summer.

I was going to mention this about the June gloom. Worst sunburn of my life was from a June gloom day on the beach in San Diego.

I could feel the heat from the sun, but the air temp was cool so I ignored it. I'm fairly dark and tan easy, but I got cooked.

You guys, this thread slipped to page 2. So does anyone have any upcoming VDH stays?
