Hope that was not the job of his dreams he had to turn down.

If it was, we would have found a way. There were many other issues with the job. He would have been the manager of a government TV station, but it was a one man band. So he'd also be every employee. When he applied, he thought the station was similar to the one I worked for, with a full staff and full programming. Instead, it was just one person for one show. The job of his dreams would probably be working for the PGA video department, but with limited travel.

Hi everyone!!!

I'm trying to spread some sunshine for people like me and SadieDog.....:headache:

I slept too late this morning so no time to DIS before work. I did let them know today (finally!) that I won't be back after my vacation. It went fine; I'm the one who was all worked up! But really, they've been in business for years and will continue to function long after I'm gone. I just felt badly because it is a small company - outside of the family there are only two of us employed there. And I know she's had a hard time in the past finding good help. But, life goes on. It's not like I'm leaving them to work someplace else - I'm leaving them to be home with my kids! I will remain available to go in per diem when they're really busy with holiday orders and such.

So ONE MORE MONTH!!!!!!!!!!

How babnanariffic! We used to say that even though we're excited for the trip, we didn't want to wish our summer away. Well, I'm wishing it away because around here lately we don't even have summer...! So heck yeah, I'm wanting Sept. to get here so I can head south and into the low 90s!!!

Is anyone else planning to watch the opening ceremonies of the Olympics tonight? I may tune in for a while but I will be watching some of the equestrian events on-line (TV is notorious for giving that very little coverage).

Well I'm done babbling.

I think we'll watch the opening ceremonies. I've always loved seeing all the countries come out and the amazing show they put on. Plus, I want my DD to see it. Since they did a challenge on Project Runway this week to design an outfit for the opening ceremonies, she's interested. Even though the athletes won't be wearing that outfit.

Glad it went well at work. Nice you will be able to help if it gets real busy.

Oh is this summer, I forgot. More flood warning around here. rain rain rain
I may or may not watch the ceremonies. I'd have to get into the mood. Who knows, maybe it would help my mood.

:thumbsup2 I watch Project Runway too. I didn't get some of the outfits at all. Like they didn't understand the challenge.

We have had awful flooding here in NH, mid-state. More rolling through right now. Southwest NH is about the only part that does not have a flood warning out.

Anyone around tonight??

.

Legomom, it's only been a high of like 63 here the last 3 days. I forget it's August. Too much rain!

Hi ya'll. Looks like ya'll have had a chatty day today. It's been a long day here. Glad its over. :thumbsup2 LegoMom and SadieDog...I hope your weather has improved. We had serious storms come through here yesterday and knocked our power out for several hours. Only one tree is down and small limbs everywhere but not to bad. LegoMom...way to go for finally letting your know you are on the count down. It will be here before you know it!! :thumbsup2 moms...I hope your wallpaper removal went well today. That is so sweet of you to do that. :goodvibes I could really use your mac and cheese right now. Nuff said. Mean Queen...I'm sure your DD is going to be so pleased with her party. The things you have done sound really precious. :goodvibes DeterminedOne...you sound just lik my DD. "Mom, I made room in my closet. :goodvibes We have to go shopping now. NOW!!" :rotfl: creativeamanda...enjoy your weekend. "Bad dog, bad dag" :lmao: I hope your Monday goes very smoothly for you!! :goodvibes Maybe you should wear these :3dglasses We got your back girl.:thumbsup2 :grouphug:

Well our power just went out! No storms right here, though, so something must have been hit elsewhere in the state. I have no idea how power stations operate or how wide-spread their "territories" are. We have a 5000-watt stand-by generator for the house, so when our power goes out, 30 seconds later the gen kicks in, and within 10 seconds of that, *poof*...power comes back on! The only thing it doesn't do is our stove (house came w/a gas stove but we switched to electric and haven't bothered to re-wire all that yet) and most of the basement. I am totally spoiled by this and will miss it terrbly when we move someday.

Well I'm going to go watch some horses on the on-line Olympic stream!

.

Darn dog! Doesn't he know he should cross his legs until you are ready to get up?

:rotfl: The funny thing is, dh was already up cooking breakfast :goodvibes :goodvibes , but Charlie absolutely refuses to let any man come near him. It has to be me or Sweetie.

Happy Friday ya'll. What are your plans for the weekend? Nothing fun for me. My goal is cleaning out my closet and getting rid of a bunch of useless clothes and shoes. Then I'm going shopping!

What an awesome excuse to shop. Not that I need one.:rolleyes1

Glad it went smoothly at work. I am getting more and more excited about our upcoming trip, too (78 days). You've been busy on your PTR, I see.

Monday should be fine. It's Friday I'm worried about. Wednesday afternoon, I get a forewarning: There's a new kid in the district who has Aspergers. Since I'm the autism coordinator, I of course go into a frenzy. One week before school and this is happening now? Turns out that the parent's brother and sister in law and I went to college together. The IEP meeting for him is Friday. I love meeting new kids, but I am also a person who wants everything right!

SadieDog, hope everything is drying up for you.

Moms, ick! Wallpaper. Yeah--I don't like it too much because sooner or later you want it down.

:thumbsup2 I watch Project Runway too. I didn't get some of the outfits at all. Like they didn't understand the challenge.

I agree! I did agree with the top three, though I thought the guy who actually did sportswear should have won. I could tell who was going to be bottom two because they were completely off base. My DD keeps wondering why the "letha" lady is still on there. I told her because other people have managed to do worse than her.

I'm back for just a bit. Since it is just hubby and I at home right now we went and grabbed some take out. Yeah for not cooking!!:woohoo: But now I hear a bubble bath calling my name. :goodvibes

I'm watching the opening ceremonies of the Olympics. Well, as much as I can watch anything with a bored 2 year old and chatty (almost) 9 year old.

Hubby is channel surfing. We are catching the ceremonies in bits and pieces. Kinda like you are.:rotfl2:

DD and I are going shopping tomorrow. I'm only going to get new shirts for her. No way am I going to get any jeans for her. I did that last year in August and by the time she needed them in the beginning of October, they didn't fit.

That's the way it always works. I was worried about buying my DD's uniforms for school in case she went through a growth spurt in the next few weeks. :rotfl2:

Aren't the opening ceremonies just incredible!! :goodvibes :thumbsup2

They are beautiful. Though my little one went to bed and my oldest lost interest.

They are spectacular....! Their gov't. aside, it's a beautiful and diverse country. They had kids earlier, if you saw them - 56 kids representing 56 different ethnic groups!!! I had no idea.

Definitely makes me want to spend a little more time at the China pavillion in Epcot when we go.

Hubby and I can't wait to spend time at the world showcase. And yes we will be paying more attention to China.

Mean Queen... I guess you are kinda happy that your little one is down for the night. :goodvibes

LegoMom...How is your weather? Has the rain stopped?
