I'm a neti pot convert now!! I had to really give myself a serious talking to though. The first time is kind of scary.

Good for you! It helps so much, but many are afraid to give it a try. It did take some getting used to.

Yep, all the aminals are okey-dokey! (wow, how hokey!...)

*ahem*...anywho....

My chickens were fine, just a little water on the side where it was blowing in, but the new roof repair held so no more "pond" in the middle of the coop. The goat's shed got pretty wet, but they have one small area that stays dry, plus a feed trough they like to climb up into. That shed floor needs a good tractor-bucket load of sand to raise it up a few inches. Once the rain stopped falling, the goats were back out and eating. This morning they were back on the roof.

The dork-dog did the usual "poor me I'm all wet and sitting in the yard" stunt...I finally just opened the back gate, figuring maybe she'd prefer the front porch or the car port or something. Nope. Once she realized she was free, she ran around like a kid on Christmas morning....still soaked to the skin but having SO much fun running through the puddles!!

The camp animals are fine. DS13 told us there's a new baby deer, but I haven't managed to see it yet. One of the donkeys is preggo too! She's getting very roly-poly so it won't be long now, I don't think.

my DH is trying to find out our township policy to see if we can get a chicken coop in our yard.... I'm not so sure the neighbors will like that, but fresh eggs would be nice. I'm still thinkin' he's completely insane now. Isn't 4 kids and a monster dog enough?? Just add to the headache. I should invest in tylenol.. I should have known when I met him though. (that's another story)

Our next door neighbors got chickens. And a rooster. Who announces the day at 4:30a.m. 7 days a week. Rain or shine. I like aminals but I'm ready to ship this guy (the rooster, not my neighbor...hmmm, or maybe both?) down to LegoMom!

As long as you keep it clean and don't have a rooster, the neighbors will never even know you have them back there (not for the point of "beating the system", just saying that hens don't make a lot of noise!). And yes, fresh eggs are THE best. Once you get a taste for them, you'll start to realize the difference!

Good morning Babnanners.....

It's Friday! Probably a good thing for most of you. Me, not so much. Still a ton left to do before the next camp arrives on Sunday. On top of my regular life, like cleaning my own house, taking care of the kids, grocery shopping, making meals......Ugh. Totally overwhelmed right now. I want to be "underwhelmed" for a change!....or, just "whelmed." (shout-out to our gal Tink for that awesome word!!....I use it frequently).

I'm writing my next TR chapter in my head and hope to get it done tonight!

UGH,,,,, what a night. my 2yo DS ended up in the emergency room last night... broken nose... thought he was buzz light year and ended up smashing it . we are building a small retaining wall, and just bought the brick top caps to finish it off, and he decided to take a flying leap onto the pile, and hit the edge of the brick with his nose. He was so good for the nurses though, he wouldn't let me touch him, but they took xrays, and cleaned it, and he sat nicely!!, didn't even cry. I was sure that he was seriously hurt cause, my kid doesn't sit still....EVER. They said he'll be ok.. no major damage, the swelling and bruising and abrasion will take a while to go away. He was adorable though when we left the hospital on the way home... he says to me, "mommy, thank you for taking me to fix my nose, I'm fine now."

What can ya'll tell me about Disney in late Feb. early March. We have never been during this time frame. So any info on crowds, is it peak or non peak time for the resorts?

Nope, no kittens yet. I brought her home 3 weeks ago today. She's a cute little snuggler. I've had her sit on my chest for at least 1/2 hour and she just moved from one shoulder to another, laid across my chest area. I called the Humane Society on Monday asking what I should do since she hadn't had her kitties yet. They told me to give another week or so.............
