Tagless & Formerly Tagless 5 :: The Babnanas are still dancin'!

Nope, no kittens yet. I brought her home 3 weeks ago today. She's a cute little snuggler. I've had her sit on my chest for at least 1/2 hour and she just moved from one shoulder to another, laid across my chest area. I called the Humane Society on Monday asking what I should do since she hadn't had her kitties yet. They told me to give another week or so.............

I think this has officially become "Babnana Kitten Watch 2010". :goodvibes

I hope everyone has a great Saturday! It's beautiful here and I have a full day ahead of me. My training for the 2011 Disney 1/2 Marathon starts today with a 5K to benefit a foster care and adoption program both my mother and SIL-to-be work for. I won't be running, just walking. (If you're at all interested in my 2011 trip, there's a link to the PTR in my signature.)

I plan on taking it easy when I come home...AFTER stopping at A.C. Moore to pick up supplies for finishing up my September trip binder and my 2011 training/trip binder.

Maybe a movie and dinner tonight with BF.

Also, I'm hoping you all can send a little prayer up for my SIL-to-be. Poor thing is the sweetest girl you could ever meet and she's had the week from Hades. She's in the last part of her program for a Master's in Family and Marital Counseling and has to complete an internship. Her boss said she could do it at work (add'l unpaid responsibilities) but two other bosses are fighting over who gets her. So yesterday her boss, who's fed up, is about to just say forget it, no internship. :sad2: This would leave her in the lurch with regards to finishing her Master's.

In the meantime, she's been pulling together the 5K while dealing with some pretty serious legal claims happening in one of ther foster homes for one of her program kids. As if all this wasn't enough, yesterday it all came to a head.

Early in the morning she found out her new stepfather, who's battled cancer over the past few years, suffered a heart attack and was in the hospital. She really had NO new news on him all day, even as of 8 p.m. last night. All they could say was that his heart tests looked normal now but it was obvious that his heart was still under stress and they can't tell why. It could be his chemo meds or something like that but the bottom line is that they just don't know. This man came back from a terminal cancer diagnosis of only 6 months to live. He and my SIL-to-be's mom just got married and went on their honeymoon a few weeks ago. It's just such a tough situation.

Then, she and my brother were supposed to attend a Navy Ball with friends in the even and were all snazzied up and were bringing their Yorkie, Sophee, over to my mom's for the night (she often has sleepover's with "Grammy and Grampy" and their dog Cody). On their way to my mom's house, Sophee started pooping and throwing up all over the car. When they got her outside at my mom's, she immediately pooped one more time and collapsed onto the ground, eyes closed, breathing shallow. She wouldn't stand up. They thought she was dying right in front of their eyes.

They got her to the emergency vet down the street (thank goodness there's one so close by) and after a few hours there, found out she may have a condition common in adult Yorkies called HGV. I hope I'm getting my facts straight, but it's basically caused by bacteria. The red blood cell count skyrockets (high is 60, Sophee's was 66 when they brought her in) and turns the blood in her body into sludge. Her stomach and intestines were inflamed and they also spotted what may be a kidney stone. On top of all that, upon reviewing her x-rays, they discovered a broken rib! It was a very old break and is unrelated to this current issue but the poor baby!

So, she now needs to stay with the vet for the next 48 hours receiving IV fluids to thin her blood out and then they'll go from there.

I'll be heading out for the 5K shortly and am hopeful for more news and that things are improving for her and her family.

I haven't been around for the past few days and really can't catch up right now, but I wanted to say, HEY, and let you all know I don't know when I'll get my trip report started, but I will eventually.

Also, I'm hoping you all can send a little prayer up for my SIL-to-be. .

sending prayers.... Awww.. that's a lot to deal with , and all at once.... you know what they say about everything hitting the fan. Or when it rains it pours. Sending good vibes:goodvibes, so everything works out and she gets some good news tomorrow.

A very early good morning to my nannerific friends!

I can't sleep. BF was up and out super early for OT this morning and after hearing his car roll down the driveway, there was no drifting back off for me!

Thanks for all the thoughts for my SIL-to-be. The 5K yesterday was amazing! She did an excellent job organizing it. She also finally had some news on her stepdad - they did some exploratory procedures and confirmed he indeed had a heart attack. One of his arteries was blocked 80% and another 100%! He's comfortable but on a lot of machines right now inthe cardiac ICU but he should recover. Also, their pup is on the up and up as well. They got to see her last night for about 20 minutes and the hospital and Sophee was up and about and ready to run out the door with them! She had to stay one more night, though, and have another blood test. She should be able to come home today.

I hope you all have a glorious Sunday! It's forecasted to be rainy here today but I'm ok with that. I'm ready for a "down" day. :goodvibes

Morning babnanas.....

How's everyone?

Tink - wow you were up early! Hope you have a nice relaxing day. I commend you on the 5k!! That's really great. I'd love to do one. I actually should be out running right now but it's too stinkin' hot and muggy and my head still hurts (woke up with a headache...:headache:.....the Excedrin seems a little slow on the uptake today!). I discovered yesterday that by running in this weather, you can actually go swimming without ever touching water!...:rotfl:

Anywho, hope y'all have a great day!

...man oh man, when it rains, it POURS! [ ]

Tink, your future SIL is such a sweet girl. Please tell her she's in my thoughts and prayers.

I cleaned out my closet!

:banana::banana::banana:

Those aren't just dancing babnanas, those are dancing cleaning babnanas! My closet was in desperate need of an overhaul, and now you can actually see everything in it, as opposed to the disaster it was before.

I'm looking forward to when I can actually get rid of the maternity and larger sized clothes as I lose weight after the baby's born. I'll have so much more room then!

And yes, as one of my girlfriends so graciously pointed out, I am nesting.

Oh, I got a fantastic deal today on a car seat for the baby. I did my research and found that Walmart was the cheapest site, but get this. In addition to the car seat, they were offering a free $10 e gift card with purchase. So I bought the seat, had it shipped site to store, and got the gift card. Then I went and bought the additional base at $10 off, and got another free gift card. Which I then used to purchase the changing pad, which only came to about $10. AWESOME! My mom would be so proud, she loved a good bargain.

And what does little man's car seat look like, pray tell?

They don't make a Jack Sparrow one. ;)

So not fair. There was never, ever anything like this when I was buying car seats!!! Just love it!

You're putting me to shame with your closet cleaning. The big closet in DS8 & DS10's room is total mess. It's the biggest storage space in this little house, so not everything in there is kids' stuff. I just need to dive in and do it. Been SO busy at camp that my own home is sliding.....not happy about that.:sad2:

.

TK - I love, love, love that car seat.

We got into cleaning mode here too. I made the kids get all the toys they don't want for charity. Though DD4 wanted to sell everything. I gave most to Goodwill but I have a bag of some of her really nice stuff and a Britax car seat to take to consignment.

Today we are dealing with a cat who no longer wants to go in the box, but in our beds and the couch. I think she's going to become a porch cat. She's declawed so we can't let her out. And she's a mess so no one would adopt her.

...yikes - good luck with THAT!

Ok random thought... Not that anything on this thread isn't random ( ;) ) but... Has anyone ever been tagged because of what they said on one the many editions of this thread? Just wondering... Since that, I'm guessing, was the original purpose of the parent thread of this that we have in front of us...

Also just wondering if you think it's better to have a tag given to you by surprise or to ask for one... I saw that at the start of the year the TB must have had a time when you could request tags... I personally think that takes the fun out of it. But that's just me. :)

There are so many choices! It's too funny, though, for the benefit of being Mickey-fied, I paid an extra $20 for that car seat over the "regular" prints.

Now tell me Mickey's not worth it? :lmao:

Oh, we won't talk about the walk in closet in my son's room. I just can't deal with it yet, mostly because there's no sense. A lot of it is toys, clothes that the baby will grow into, the crib, the basinette, etc. So, as we outgrow those things, they'll make their way out.

TK - I love, love, love that car seat.

Thank you!

Must be a little bit of spring fever going around!

It just feels so good to get things cleaned out. My next two goals are the vanity in the bathroom and the kitchen pantry. I'll feel so much better when those are done. :thumbsup2

Um, ew. :lmao: Good luck.

I'm still tagless, my dear. I wish I could get one, but I definitely wouldn't want to ask, that takes the random fun out of it. :goodvibes

Happy Monday, babnanas! :goodvibes

I am slowly working up the motivation to go out and run errands.

It's a thought process. Especially when every part of me wants to just veg. :lmao:
