Another very cool damp day here. Where is summer? I think my brother is dragging me to Lowes or Home Depot this morning to pick out bathroom paint and a medicine cabinet. That will help take up some time while I wait for the race to start this afternoon.

Stay away from OIL BASED PAINT!! I thought you already painted the bathroom. Or was that just the primer?

That was just primer. I wanted the bathroom wall to be 1 color for his party instead of 3. It was white, yellow and blue with white spackle patches. NO OIL BASED PAINT!

How did you know how I felt this morning? I was up late watching "Wanted" but it was my turn to get up with the kids. Luckily, they were so worn out from the pool they got up at 8 a.m.. "Wanted" was actually a very good movie, but extremely violent and bloody. It is not for anyone who can't handle a LOT of violent and senseless deaths.

I think all of Summer is down here from how hot it has been. Good luck with the painting. I second Smiley's advice to not buy oil based paint.

Good morning y'all!!!

Well I'm not sure if the posts are going where they're supposed to, but dare I say that they seem to have fixed the time being a half-hour off.

I agree with Sadiedog....WHERE is summer???? Last year I spent most of the time in my sleeveless t-shirts. This year I've only worn them a couple of days, when we had our little mini heat-wave a few weeks ago! Yesterday (and today, from the looks of it) never got out of the 60s, and it was rainy and damp all day long.

Sadie- are you actually going to the race, or watching on tv? We've never been, but all I know is that we avoid Concord and the highway on these days! We are actually headed south later today, to pick up the kids and go see Wall-E at the really way-cool movie theater pub!!

Last night DH and I rented "Pirates: At World's End" again and "National Treasure 2." We hadn't seen NT2 and really enjoyed it! Full of suspense and pretty darn cool.

If the post thing is fixed I'll try to post more today!!

No, I am not going to the race. I WISH! Last year I went to my 1st race b/c my best friend gave me tickets for Xmas. I LOVED IT! The noise is deafening and you have to wear earplugs. I remember when the race started last year and the cars flew by for the 1st time, my husband and I looked at each other with huge eyes and I yelled in his ear "This is the most awsome BLEEPING thing I have ever seen." My friend also have me tickets to this Septmebers race as a b-day gift. It's perfect b/c both the race and my b-day are in Sept. I can't wait! Somehow I have become a HUGE NASCAR fan. I don't even know how that happened. My dear friend is the best; I don't know what I would do without her.

Funny, that's your husbands company. I take it you guys don't have any interest in going. It's not for everyone. Looks like you have something pretty awsome to do during that time anyway.

DH isn't a big NASCAR fan, but my boys would LOVE it. I'm indifferent. But since he works for the sponser for that race, he can get discounted tix, so who knows, maybe one of these years he'll break down and take the boys!

My in-law's own a condo in Pine Island. We're driving down there with another family and staying for the long weekend. We plan to do a lot of swimming. I think I'll be throwing out my Weight Watchers plan for July 4th. I can't not have deviled eggs and potato salad.

Hi SadieDog. My hubby is the big fan. But I must say that I have learned to enjoy it too. I pretty much always watch with him. On the weekends we are joined at the hip. He has been to Darlington several times. I see us traveling to other races in the future.

I think we are babysitting for the 4th. No one ever wants to babysit for us, but they don't think twice about calling us. (Can you tell I am a little bitter?)

We took the kids to see Wall-E last night and the kids laughed so much! We really enjoyed it--it's a great must-see for this this summer.

I've spent this weekend test driving cars. Now I have to decide whether I really want this car they let me take home yesterday or if I should just take it back to the lot.
