What a beautiful bird! How big a flock do you have? What's it like having a rooster?...I hadn't really considered it, but is it better for the hens?

.

He's gorgeous Amanda!

He is a rather stubborn bird, lol! He has a habit of pestering the other hens--you don't have to have rooseters for laying purposes, but if you incubate eggs, like we do, you have to have a couple. We have about 40-50 birds right now--we had more before the coyotes. He crows all the time. We love him. I'll have to get a picture of our other rooster sometime. . .he's really pretty.

Hey, do you wanna know something weirdly strange and strangely weird about snakes?!.....even with the head removed, if you grab the snake's tail, the front will still whip around like it's trying to bite you!

Good night all!.....sweet dreams!:goodvibes

:lmao:

.

I knew the bodies would still move. I had no idea that they would actually attempt to strike at you. We have snakes around. A rat snake that was about 4 ft. A copperhead that was maybe 2 ft. And just the other day I was standing in front of my sink and looked out and saw a black snake that was probably close to 6 ft. When I told hubby about that one. He said he already knew it was hanging around. He just didn't want to tell me about it. :confused3:eek: Believe me, I'm better off KNOWING about it. And I am really trying to overcome this fear. I don't know where it came from or why it is so bad. I really do want to plant a garden. But the thought of putting my hands in those bushes to harvest is just more than I can face. I really want chickens, but.....well ya'll know.

Speaking of chickens. . .this is our Bantam rooster. . .I think he's beautiful.

He is beautiful.

Good morning ya'll. :goodvibes

With all of this chicken talk I would hate to see our babnanas grow feathers. :rotfl:

You people are making me realize I am a total city girl. All this talk about snakes, spiders and other nasty varmints makes me very happy to have a good pest control person and no desire to be in the great outdoors (unless it's in a great pool or the beach.) Though I used to have snakes for a pet, I don't like the ones that I meet in nature.

Good morning y'all!

We're getting major rainfall later today and through tomorrow, so DH and I are running around putting tools away and getting stuff under cover. We also need to be able to fit both "toys" under the carport (my Mule and DH's new-to-him 4-wheeler!....the camp was looking for a golf cart for me, but instead someone donated a 4-wheeler so DH gets that and I get the Mule now. DH is in big-boy-toy heaven....:cloud9:).

I also heard a Phoebe singing this morning! Back in NH they were an early sign of spring. Apparently here they're a sign of cooler weather! Today is gorgeous....an open-window kind of day.:thumbsup2

I'm with you on that Shay! I saw my first rooster in real life only a few months ago! :scared1:

...I'm sure that THEY would definitely keep snakes outta de henhouse...

:rotfl2: I'm sure they would.

I have good news and bad news. . .

DH is going to be in Columbia the week after the Disney trip. With all of that going, we decided the family is not going to Disney in December after all. . . .. . .

I am. I'm going. All by myself. I'm thinking of changing the resort to try something different. Possibly CBR. I did change to the 7/4 deal and I am doing the Deluxe dining and Park hoppers. With all of those changes and the deposit we have already made, DISNEY owes me $3.34.

So, I changed my dining reservations (of course). This is what I have now--I am doing mostly breakfasts and dinners because it is the Deluxe plan:

Breakfasts:
Ohana, Crystal Palace, 1900 Park Fare, Chef Mickey's

Lunches:
Coral Reef, Tutto Italia (Candlelight Processional Package)

Dinners:
Crystal Palace, Hoop Dee Doo, California Grille, Kouzzina, 1900 Park Fare, Jiko

I really, really, really want Citricos, and am holding back the credits for it, but have been unlucky thus far getting it.

Woo hoo creativeamanda!!.... You had me going with the "bad" news! Although I guess I should be sorry that y'all can't go together (should I be?....).

:rotfl:

Quiet here this weekend! Hope everyone was out having fun.:goodvibes

Um, Legomom, where did that trip ticker come from? What have I missed out on? Am I just behind in the times? I need to check out the PTR. . .

The real bad thing is we already have 5 tickets to MVMCP. It's the last one of the year, so I am going to hold them until they sell out for that date and then put 4 of them on EBay.

I did change to CBR, which I am kind of scared and excited about at the same time. I want to be closer to Epcot this time, so CBR was the perfect mod for me.

It has been quiet (except for kimmar's bantar).

Good for you creativeamanda. :thumbsup2

LegoMom...you have a solo trip planned as well? I just noticed your ticker.

Ya'll are very brave women. Going alone is something I have no desire to do. But I am really happy for both of you. Following your dreams is important.

I have spent my weekend chained to a desk. We are still trying to clean up the mess our secretary left us in. :sad2: We are making headway. We just keep having little set backs. At least for the most part hubby and I work well together.

I think I need some time away. The last vacation without the kids I took was in 2003. Since 2003, I have never been without the kids overnight. Never. That's a big deal. I need a week to just be me.

I have thought about ya'll with the secretary often and wondered if you were making any headway. It's so difficult when someone you trust does this to you, I know. I feel so bad for you and want you to know that you have stayed in my prayers throughout this. Ya'll will be much stronger after all of this is over! I promise!

Wait, now you both have solo trips planned?

I wouldn't say I had a fun weekend, but it wasn't bad. Just little stuff, got the girls hair cut, bought Halloween decorations, and played way too much Sims 3 (a birthday present.)

Yeah, Shay--everybody's doing it. . .:rotfl2:

I love the Sims 3, but I get so addicted that I don't stop. So I don't start. If that even makes sense.

Wow you're going to have a blast! When I lived down there sometimes I would just go to the parks and walk around by myself. It's so different; kind of peaceful. And ditto on the sims ;)
