I may be getting a little bit ahead of myself since it's only September, but... Will there be some kind of viewing package for the Christmas parade? If so, has anyone ever done that and did you like it? I'm especially curious about the food but I suppose that changes from year to year.

They did a package last year, so I assume they will do one again this year. I can't remember exactly what the food was but do remember it was a beef dish.

This is the write up from last year from Disney Food Blog

Plaza Inn
Guests can enjoy an entree, dessert, and drink (with the menu featuring Beef bourguignon, Roasted vegetables, Herbed mashed potatoes with a cabernet demi-glaze, and a Black Forest yule log dessert for Adults — Fried Chicken Tenders, Seasonal Vegetables, Mashed Potatoes, and a Black Forest yule log dessert for Children) inside the Plaza Inn. The package includes a prime viewing spot to watch the second showing of the Christmas Fantasy Parade! Dining times are open 60 days out for Advance Dining Reservations from 1PM to 3:30PM. Packages are $52 per adult (ages 10+) and $29 per child (ages 3 to 9). Stay tuned for 2025 information!

The food was good but the viewing area was awful in my opinion...we were told to show up at a certain, told definitely no earlier (HAH!)- and we went a little early and there was no place to sit or stand. If they can regulate that it would be great!

Well that's annoying. What's the point of paying for a dining package if you still can't see the parade?

There are so many places to watch the parade from that unless they offer a NEW amazing place to watch from with some kind of new extra perk then I’m not biting

Chairs. I want chairs. This is the only thing that would get me to pay a premium for parade viewing. Last time I was in the parks (in December) I could barely get down to sit on the curb.

You know what we need? To start a campaign for Seats for Seniors!! I am honestly thinking of getting one of those rolling walkers with a seat just for such occasions! 😂🤣. Sure would come in handy, or maybe a cane seat, though those might be harder to balance on.

Yep, @DizMe , those were the days! Seats, pins, three rides, hot cocoa ( souvenir cup) and a giant gingerbread man! Memories, ah, memories!

They could do a Dessert Party along the Small World promenade by removing the food carts from that area, it's about the only place where there is enough room, similar to how they do OBB with tables all in single line.
They could do it from about Storybook Canal up to Small World/Toon Town fork.
It would sell out in a second.

Or maybe I can just find a Club 33 member to adopt me for a day... :rotfl2:

I've been suggesting that to my husband for years. This last weekend at Disneyland was the first time he said that maybe he should get one. I wonder if they would even let him use it for the parade. I was thinking about it for waiting in line for rides, but that would be awesome if they let him sit in it for parade viewing.

Honestly, they could sell it for hundreds of dollars per person and it would sell out each time. I can't believe that they don't offer any reserved seating for parades at Disneyland. It's honestly ridiculous. I know there's plenty of seating to be had if you want to find a bench a couple hours before the parade, but 2 hours is a really long time to sit around waiting for the parade.

Have you thought about watching the parade from around Town Square? They usually have several benches set up around the perimeter of the island across from City Hall.

I tried to watch the parade from a scooter one year and it was tough, so I'm not sure how it would be with a rolling walker. I had what I thought was a decent spot along the curb, but people kept stepping in front of me, which made it difficult to see. Admittedly I didn't do any research on how best to watch the parade from a scooter first as it was a last minute thing.

I wonder why they don't have it at Disneyland though they do at DCA. Even just chairs with a little snack box would be nice. Or honestly, just the chairs!

I wonder if it is partly because the include alcohol at DCA which wouldn't be allowed in DL (outside of sit down dining). I'd be okay with popcorn and a bottle of Coke, as long as it included a chair. An easy money grab if there ever was one. $50 to be able to sit in a chair to enjoy the parade vs maybe just not being able to see the parade at all. Because for me, not only is ground seating virtually impossible, so is just standing in one place for an hour.
