The Crew

Tony ……………….Driver and general gofer
Theresa…………….Scrapbook shopper extraordinaire
Peggy (my mum)…..I’ll go on anything as long as it’s not upside down or do big drops .
Zena (my aunt)…….Ditto

We were going to Blizzard Beach today but decided to go for an all-you-can-eat breakfast at the Golden Corral first. The food was excellent and the place was almost empty compared to the other Saturday night. We were stuffed, too stuffed to go swimming that’s for sure, so we headed for Festival Bay and all had a look around Bass Pro and Sheplars, we all bought stuff in Bass Pro and Sheplars but I must admit that I spent ages in Sheplars trying on casual jackets, I was finding it hard to find one I liked that also fitted nicely. In the end I had Zena and one of the assistants helping me. I ended up with two shirts, one jacket and a new pair of boots. Mum and Zena also bought some Tee shirts so I didn’t feel too bad spending so much time in there. Theresa however was sat there with the items I had chosen on her lap as I was in and out of the changing rooms and going around like a man possessed. I love Sheplars and I love Bass Pro. It’s as close as a bloke can come to shopping heaven.

After paying for our new found treasures and not forgetting our 20% discount, we had a look around Steve and Barry’s. Theresa got a couple of Tee shirts for the kids, a Pink Ladies one for Maddie and a Fantastic Four one for Callum. 2 for $15 has got to be a bargain.

Mum bought us all an ice cream with some bizarre flavours like Birthday Cake. Theresa said it tasted like sweet vanilla with hundreds and thousands in.
We stopped at Michaels on the way back to the condo so Theresa could get a few more bits and pieces for Maddie. Then we spent a few hours by the pool and had some more cocktails (Virgin ones for me as I was driving later).
We used the pool bar more this trip and had really enjoyed it so I thought you might like to see the menu….

We all got showered and changed as we had an ADR for 7.30 p.m. at The Grand Floridian Café. We got there a little early and had a stroll around the grounds before reporting to the desk to check in. We were given a pager which went off almost immediately. The meal was great and we did get our DDE discount this time. $142 inc. Tip.

After the meal we couldn’t resist a look inside the posh loo’s even those of us who didn’t actually need them.

We jumped on the monorail and went to Magic Kingdom to watch Spectromagic and Wishes which were both brilliant as usual, however the park was probably the busiest we have ever seen it.

I did my best to get some pictures but as usual I still haven’t got one that captures the real WOW factor that these displays have. I come from the “if you take enough pictures you will be lucky enough to get at least one good one” school and I think this is my best one so far. I’ve seen better, so I’ve still got to work on my game.

After the fireworks we caught the monorail back to GF and as we were waiting, the Electric Light Water Pageant went by. We were lucky as the queue for the resorts was a lot shorter than the one for the transportation centre.

When we got back to the GF the women picked the wrong car again but I wouldn’t have minded having a drive of that one.

That photo of Wishes is fantastic! :cool1:

Another fine report. No apology needed for that spectacular Wishes photo. Please, tell Zena she was sitting in my chair at the GF Cafe (my very seat from a few trips back!), but that's ok with me. Friends should share.

Hi Tony,
Just got caught up on all your reports so far and am having a wonderful time following your adventures. I think you are being much too hard on yourself over the photo, I love the light streaking around like that. In fact all of the photos so far have been wonderful. I have to ask though, if Theresa was put in a corner which would she choose? Disney or shopping?;) Seems like a tie so far. Keep up the great work, can't wait to read more.:thumbsup2

a lovely day Tone, great piccies, I think I'll join Nat in a drink, a traditional Margarita for me please (for a change) LOL

Great shopping, I love Steve and Barrys. As alcohol is off limits for me at the moment, that cocktail list was pure torture :rotfl2:

Your photo of Wishes is truly amazing, I had a very big Disney pang.

Laur's princess:

I have been enjoying your trip report this morning over breakfast - you certainly had an amazing time - and just the right mix of shopping and theme parks with lots of other interesting stuff thrown in. Your Mum and Auntie seem to be having a ball. The first time is always amazing! Your photos are really great and really capture the moment - and that fireworks shot is stunning!

By the way I would be really grateful if you could let me know where the good scrapbooking shops are which you have mentioned (but please don't tell my DH) as I could easily see myself having a quick (or not so quick) detour.
