Survivor: Pearl Islands *OFFICIAL THREAD*

I think I want to see the reunion show more than the finale:p I can't wait to see what everyone says about Jon lying about his grandmother. It should be good:D

Given what the other castaways said on CBS Morning show (T, Christa and Burton so far) I think they will really down play it. Too bad - given Jon's background in WW Wrestling......we could have witnessed a real "Smack down" It's like last Survivor.......I was just waiting for Christy and Deena to let into Heidi and Jenna - and they never did - plus they voted for Jenna (what was that all about)

I think the best will be the second hour of the show, where the castoff's get to speak to the final two......now that will be some good T.V. I bet there won't be any "pick a number" speeches!;)

I hope they devote the majority of the finale show to the issue of Jon's lie, but I doubt they will!! I guess it ultimately depends on where Jon ends up.

Is it Sunday yet???????:teeth:

FINALLY Burton's gone. About time, too.

Of course, once he won the car, he was toast. Usually whoever wins the car gets immediately voted off.

Speaking of Colby, has anyone seen the Quatro commercial he does? Looking good::yes::

I think by the time the reunion show is filmed several months later a lot of the steam (anger) has gone out of their sails and they are just ready to party and have a good time. I wouldn't expect too much of a major rant towards Jon (although it would be fun to witness).

It's funny that everyone has such good things to say about Jon when they do the Early Show. It seems like the tribe members were angrier, took things a lot more personally, in the earlier shows. They developed deeper relationships. Now, they seem to go into the game more prepared for the outwitting aspect. They're better sports about losing and respect the ones who outplay, even it means lying. It used to be more of a major thing when someone switched an alliance. Now it seems to happen by the hour out there.

I'm glad Jeff's doing the reunion show--I just wish they would make the question and answer section longer. And, for once, I really wanted them to do a re-cap show because I never saw the first episode thanks to Hurrican Isabel.

In this case, though, I think that the passage of time might make for MORE anger, not less, since there is apparently a lot of things the survivors didn't know about whate Jon (for example) was doing to them.

I'll bet they downplay the lie, too.

And the Reunion show is MUCH better with Jeff than a guest host. I think he did a swell job at the last one!

And I often wonder why they don't show reruns of the past Survivors. I'd watch. Wouldn't you? I'd love to see the first one all over again. And all the rest too!

COME ON SUNDAY!!!

Well I for one, was sad to see Burton go. :( Although, I do agree he made a huge mistake in selecting Jon to go to the reward challenge with him. I believe him when he was talking on the Early Show regarding not lying to Lil. Editing plays a HUGE part in how we view the show.

My predictions are that Darrah will win the game. Jonny Fairplay will be out the next tribal council if he doesn't win immunity. Then if Darrah wins the immunity after that she'll probably pick Lil to go to the final two, because if Darrah picked Sandra then she'd lose more votes. Most of the jury wont vote for Lil because she's an outcast and voila' Darrah's the winner.

That said, if it really were down to those two at the end I would vote for Lil. Yes, she is annoying as all get out, but she worked WAY harder than Darrah. Darrah kind of reminds me of Jenna as far as her laziness, although her personality seems much kinder and more genuine than Jenna's.

I have to record Sunday night's episode 'cause my nephew's taking me to a Shania Twain concert. Hurt me. :teeth:

I would stop watching the show if Jon won...I can not stand him at all!

Yes, Jon is a real louse, but we have to admit, he makes the show more interesting. pirate:

I said to my wife that that was the turning point for the men -- that was the one decision that sealed their fate.

On the contrary, I believe that "outcast" animosity isn't significant, and Darrah will take Sandra, because she knows that lots of the folks in the jury don't like Sandra. Some of them have already said that they wouldn't want to take Lill into the final two, since everyone likes Lill (except for Burton, evidentally).

I think MB is going to have to add some new rules for Survivor 9 to specifically prohibit outside interference in the game, like that. Otherwise, the game would end up too dehumanized.

I totally agree with you Bicker! I will not watch Survivor 9 is Jon wins any money at all (1st or 2nd place). To me this is not enjoyable to watch people go to all kinds of lengths to win money. I think that they will eventually ruin the show if MB allows it to go on without some new rules.

What I find unacceptable is how Jeff puts some people on the spot and others let slide at Tribal Counsel. For example, when Rupert got voted off and Sandra went back to camp and hid all the fish. At the next TC Jeff asked her if she new anything about it and made her lie. I figured that he would do the same to Jon about his Grandmother. But he didn't. I don't think that's fair.

I can't wait to see what she has to say to Jon at the Reunion Show. It should be "Hawkish."

MickeyBoat, did you coin a new word? I think Sue Hawk would be honored.

I think Darrah may be playing behind the scenes more than they show. She said that she knew if she didn't win immunity she was out of there--she realized she was a big threat challenge-wise. Burton said on the Early Show that Darrah made sure they knew Lil was trying to form an all-girls alliance--it looks like she was trying to make Lil a bigger threat to the guys and their new target in case the alliances swung and they were able to convince Sandra, once again, to vote with them. She saw how Jon got Sandra and Christa to vote Tijuana out. I doubt she really trusted that Sandra would be the next to go.

They often talk about how "the game" is on their minds 24/7 out there. They have a lot of time to think about all the scenarios and plan a strategy.

Burton's comment on the Early Show about the players not being resentful of the outcasts until they were voted off was interesting. It would explain why they don't seem to be thinking along those lines while they're still in the game--that Lil would be great to go up against in the final 2 because she's an outcast.
