No specific news about the All Stars show on the Survivor Reunion show except to say that the first show will air right after the Super Bowl.

If anyone needs a copy of either the last 2 hour show, the reunion show, or the presentation of the check to Sandra, let me know. I think that I can fit all of the video on a single DVD.

They've finished filming the All-Stars Show of course. Folks in-country are sprinkling the Internet with potential spoilers about how it went.

Just to pick up on the spoilers issue. You can put as much stock in spoilers as using a ouija board or a crystal ball. One of the poiler sites had Darrah winning it all. They totally missed that one. Plus, they tend to over-analyze every little thing. The latest discussion (and trust me, this is not a spoiler, else I wouldn't mention it) is breaking down what Rupert said last night about Richard Hatch. They're now all convinced that Rupert won it all by beating Hatch, when all he said was that the reasson he applied for Survivor was that after watching the first year, we was convinced that he could beat Richard Hatch. As in "if that't the best they can do, I know I can do better."

The people on the spoiler boads give the impression that they have no other life outside of survivor. They " read into " every little thing we see on the show, convinced it is a clue to the final outcome. And all the boards I was reading were certain Darrah was the winner.

In the end I would have to say that visiting the spoiler boards did not take away from my survivor experience at all. Everything I read ended up being just speculation and opinions, and mostly wrong ones at that.

Although last year's rumor with Jenna and Matt was correct; so was the rumor that the final two this year were an older woman and a younger woman, so sometimes they are right.

yes, they were right about the final two being an older and a younger woman. But they were wrong about dozens of other " spoilers". And, since there is no way to know which of their predictions are right and which are wrong until the final outcome, reading everything they have to say does not spoil the game for any viewer.

What they call spoilers are really only speculations. Thought provoking reading, but no more so than speculation on the DIS.

A lot of it comes down to the source. Some sources are remarkably good; others are not. In terms of Survivor, sources that have in-country contacts generally are more accurate and reliable.

A lot of it comes down to whether the information is knowable. A lot of spoilers are about things that are practically unknowable, such as who is the winner. Given how few people actually know that, and how unlikely it is they are to spill the beans, spoilers along those lines are not reliable. By the same token, spoilers about things like the location, when the filming starts and ends, and even things like when the merge takes place, are readily knowable by in-country sources, and in our electronic age, that means that information is readily available in general.

On a side point, next season I think we should use our Dis names as our Survivor team name and then rank the Disers personally and as a tribe. We tried personal rank another season but was confusing and difficult to do when Dis ID and team name were different. Anyone in favor?

I went to some of the spoiler threads and saw the names of the All Stars (maybe) but what are they playing for. 1 mllion again or they going to increase it two 2 million. Anybody know.

My understanding is that the grand prize hasn't changed, but the minimum has been bumped from $2,500 to $25,000! So it seems that all of them will get just about that amount, with the final four getting more than that.
