Surf and Turf Disney Style…..30 days of food on land and at sea! 06/16 WPE

Karin- I am going on the Dream with the DISmoms- no kids allowed! Serenity Beach shouldn't be a problem in May! :beach:

Oh, Karin. Can't wait for our Dream Cruise in March. Your photos of Serenity Bay are just calling my name. We haven't been out there for a while. We are going with a group of friends that we have cruised with before and are going to have such a fun time. As of right now we have two cabanas booked on Serenity Bay for our first trip to CC. It is gonna be so much fun!

And, while we like to eat at Cookies, the buffet at Serenity bay is much better. We would rather eat out there. Is it March yet? :lmao: Oh, wait, I said that already.

We have cruised on the Magic and Wonder both before, this will be our 8th Disney Cruise I believe, but our first time on the Dream. So we are looking forward to it.

Please keep posting! Love all the Food Porn! ;)

This is a great report. :thumbsup2 I couldn't sleep last night and fell upon it. Love all the photos and descriptions.

Not sure what looks nicer... the place settings or the food. :scratchin well... I guess the food. :rotfl:

Serenity bay looks amazing but we did the family thing our first trip hoping we will get an earlier start next trip so we can relax a bit there and then do the family thing , those adult beverages look goood and the food pics are delicous as i'm about to have unimpressive hot dogs tonight lol:lmao::laughing::rotfl2:

You definitely have to get out to Serenity Bay, Jeff! It is heaven on earth and I am sure Molly and Philip will we happy to join a kids program in the meantime.
Unfortunately we don't have such impressive food every day as well - but it is nice we can at least remember it from our cruise now and then. ;) :lmao:

Karin , the food at animaters plate looks amazing but one ?? it seems the menu was a little different then when we were on ?
and i will say one thing i will never forget the DESSERTS lol:lmao:

Jeff, this is the Pirate Night menu, which is different. You might have experienced it in a different restaurant - it was in Animator's Palette for us on our first cruise, but it is the regular menu they offer on Pirate's night - same in all dining rooms. :thumbsup2

I was thinking the same thing Jeff because I know I would have ordered that rum soaked chocolate cake. We had the dumplings at Enchanted Garden and we also had something like that chowder soup, but it was cheddar cheese soup at Animator's Palate. YUM!!!

Elaine, all these items are from the Pirate Night menu! They have the same menu in all three dining rooms, but I am sure you know that! :lmao:
It's our least favourite menu, so we only went to it once on our three cruises.

What delicious looking food.

:cloud9: :thumbsup2

DISmoms trip! :woohoo: I guess we'll see a fun trip report again ..... :dance3:
When you get out there - try to get a chair close to Castaway Air bar - you'll be right where everything of interest is ..... bar, shower, grill station and restrooms - you can even hear the music from the bar
and even better - why not rent one of the cabanas - the service is outstanding - not much longer and I'll report all about it. :thumbsup2

Be a good girl and have a Konk Kooler (or whatever tickles your fancy) for me out there!

You are going to love CC and the cabanas!!! We had one during the summer and it was absolutely awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!

I do agree with you on the food at the grill station out there - it's really good.
We have cruised on the Wonder before our first time on the DREAM and when we first got close to Port Canaveral I could not believe how HUGE that ship was, and even though there are many things that are different to the Wonder, the moment you set foot on the DREAM and are immersed in that Disney magic again, you'll feel right at home! :thumbsup2

Lots more to come - remember we did three cruises back to back! :woohoo:

This is a great report. :thumbsup2 I couldn't sleep last night and fell upon it. Love all the photos and descriptions.

:woohoo: Glad you found it! I really hope you'll enjoy the rest of it as well. There is lots more to come.

Not sure what looks nicer... the place settings or the food. :scratchin well... I guess the food. :rotfl:

They were both equally nice, Ann - it's just that the food tasted way better! :rotfl2:

Hi Karin
I had a lot to catch up on!
Everything on The Dream looks yummy :)
I love the look of the Pirate night menu, we didn't have that on the three night cruise but should do on our 7 night Western
I am really hoping I can snag Palo and Remy reservations for our cruise so I am looking forward to hearing your thoughts
:)

The breakfast at Cabanas looks yummy! A shame about the Mickey waffles tasting like cardboard as they are my favourite Disney breakfast food item!

Serenity Bay looks amazing! :cloud9:

I'm glad the dessert at Animator's Palette made up for the Mahi Mahi :thumbsup2

Glad to hear that you are caught up again! :goodvibes

No, they don't do a special pirate's menu on the shorter cruises, but it is our least favourite menu - so we use that day for dining at Palo. :thumbsup2
I am sure you will be able to snag Palo and Remy and I hope that by then I will even be able to post our Remy experiences (lots of Palo coming up shortly). I cannot believe that we will be back in a little over 5 weeks! :rotfl2:

As I mentioned before Tom and I are not huge buffet lovers and were happy to have breakfast (and lunch) at the Royal Palace. :thumbsup2
Especially after the disappointment of the Mickey Waffles

Serenity Bay is heaven on earth!

I'm all caught up and up to date with your reviews...OMG I cant wait!!!
:dance3:

Hello there!
How wonderful you made it over here and are even all caught up! Lots more DREAM food to come - we stayed for 11 nights during the summer! :rotfl2:

Day 12, August 24

Breakfast at the Royal Palace

Day at sea

We slept in a little and at around 8.30 we arrived at the Royal Palace for breakfast. Again we were seated immediately

and a server was right there to ask for our drinks. Tom ordered some coffee and I asked for hot tea and a few minutes later the server was around with a box of teas to choose from.

I chose Orange Pecoe and while I prepared my tea (bathed the teabag in hot water :lmao:) another server came around to offer some breakfast pastries. We both didn't feel like it and the server moved to the next table.

Then Tom's starter arrived ....

he had ordered the Swiss Bircher Muesli, Muesli with raisins, shredded apples and yogurt. I tried a spoonful and it was really tasty. Lots of apples and raisins and just a very light sweetness to it. Very nice! :thumbsup2

Once he had finished it and the bowl had been taken away, our hot breakfasts arrived.

Tom had ordered the

Express, Scrambled eggs, grilled ham, bacon, sausage. and hash browns. According to Tom the breakfast was nice, but nothing special, like the one he had had the other day.

I ordered the

French Toast and Pineapple Stack, Layers of French toast and grilled pineapple, topped with strawberry coulis, maple glaze and fruit salad. OH MY GOD .... heaven on a plate! The french toast was cut out with a ring and light and fluffy, the pineapple perfectly grilled and layers were stacked on top of each other. SO good! I could have eaten several orders of it ...... BUT we had more "foodplans" for that day! ;)

Next up - Cooking demonstration

OMG
fench toast pineapple stack i miss that cannot wait for more in 2013 unless i have to head to bobby fley's kitchen and kidnap him to make me some lol :lmao::rotfl2: unless Gordan ramsey can help too

Love all that food!!! Totally drooling over here! I went to Krispi Kreme last night and totally thought of you 2!!!! :cool1:

If you get Gordon to make it for you let me know! We would be across the pond in a flash! :lmao:

Dinner looks good. Desserts look better! :rotfl2:

Wait until I get to all my Palo adventures, Jen .... you are going to love THOSE reviews! :goodvibes

All the food on the DREAM was pretty good! I cannot remember one meal that I didn't like. :thumbsup2
And thanks for thinking of us while enjoying your Krispy Kreme! I cannot wait until we can enjoy some ourselves again as well.

Day 12, August 24

Cooking demonstration

Day at sea

After breakfast we delivered some FE gifts, then joined one of the ship's tours and then headed right to D-Lounge for "Anyone can cook" a cooking demonstration.

IMG_1372-1.jpg

We were able to snag a table right up front, settled in and a little later the demonstration started. The chef, a patissier from Hungary showed us how to make Apple Strudel.

We got a sample and it was really nice, even though here in Austria we do not eat Apple Strudel with vanilla sauce.

Next up - Lunch at Royal Palace

Oh wow Karin
I just have to get some of that French Toast if they have it on the Fantasy :-)

Whoever called your demo 'Anyone Can Cook' has clearly never met me !!! :)
