Wondering if there are any pool view rooms, or areas, which may also have a partial savannah view?
Just got back from Jambo in May and saw Giraffes on Uzima savanna. Lots of places to view the savannas around the resort at various lookouts which imagine is like Kidani as well. (I've only stayed at Jambo).First time staying at Jambo, we done Kidani a few times. Is Sunset the only savanna with giraffes?
Just got back from Jambo and was on the Giraffe Trail with a view of the pool near Boma. I was able to see some of the savanna from my balcony. We had a room on the 5th floor I believe - lower floors would likely not have been able to see anything I woudn't think.Wondering if there are any pool view rooms, or areas, which may also have a partial savannah view?
I’ve seen giraffes from every savanna view room I’ve ever been in at Jambo, regardless of what savanna. They do migrate throughout the day… so the time that they are closest to your room is the real question. I had one room where they were always there at night.First time staying at Jambo, we done Kidani a few times. Is Sunset the only savanna with giraffes?
The small Pembe savanna which is only visible from Kidani is the only savanna at AKL/V w/out giraffes.First time staying at Jambo, we done Kidani a few times. Is Sunset the only savanna with giraffes?
The Uzima savanna overlook is out by Jambo’s pool & the grand villa at the end of that first pod off of Zebra trail has both pool & Uzima savanna views. I don’t know about the cash rooms on the lower floors, but most of the villas facing the pool are facing away from Uzima savanna.Wondering if there are any pool view rooms, or areas, which may also have a partial savannah view?
All the DVC villas at Jambo are on the 5th floor (club villas on 6th floor.) So if you were in a DVC villa on Giraffe trail at Jambo you were in a value villa on the 5th floor. I’ve never been in one of the value villas, but those Giraffe trail villas are conveniently located near the walkway to the bus stop & above the pool/Mara & if some can also see Uzima savanna - wowJust got back from Jambo and was on the Giraffe Trail with a view of the pool near Boma. With a Kudo request, will be on Sunset Savannah. Not sure rooms would be necessary unless you knew which ones were standard. Also staying in a 1 bedroom resort view jambo in December.
Is it worth requesting a specific room (or a few rooms) on the Kudu trail side or be more generic with the request? Also whats the best place to make the room request for DVC?
Thanks all!

I’m not 100% convinced the room assignors even know which villas overlook which savannas - how rooms get assigned is a mystery to me. I usually just request Kudu trail when I’ve booked resort view (formerly standard view.) The one time I tried to get fancy & listed resort view villas at the end of both Kudu & Zebra trails by their room numbers I ended up overlooking the pool on Zebra trailWith a Kudo request, will be on Sunset Savannah. If wanting Zebra trail, I’d add request for Uzima savannah to hopefully not get the pool.
Either chat, call, or email your request to Member Services. I usually like to just use Chat. They'll add your request to the reservation. No need to wait until closer - you can do it as soon as you book the room. Just don't select a 'room location' later if you do online check-in - leave that part alone, else it seems like any original requests are then overwritten. I'm not 100% certain that's what happens, but just request through MS.Thanks for the advice everyone.
I was thinking of saying dor the request: 1 or 2 room numbers at the end of kudu trail that I saw on Touring plans and just saying if not available Kudu building. I really would rather not be zebra side for risk of pool...
Is there a specific best request channel/time to get the request in or do people just message DVC member services close to the date?
Our first trip to AK is in November at Jambo House. This past may we did resort hopping and explored both Kindani and Jambo lobbies. Agree with you that words just can't describe how awesome these resorts are! Agree on the CM's. I thought BWV had the best CM's but AKV staff goes above and beyond. I'm pretty sure our Grandkids will never want to leave. We were lucky enough to score a Grand Villa. I can imagine Grandma and I will spend a lot of time on the Balconies while the kids and grandkids hit the pools. My only anxiety is one of our group is a picky eater. It will be interesting to see how they do.The four of us (Wife & I with kids 8 & 6) are on our first WDW trip as AKV owners. We are staying in a 1BV savanna view at Kidani. So far, even after doing tons of research and reading reviews, we are just blown away.
The resort is stunning. I thought it would maybe give us a bit more than a good view, but we have spent so much time on the balcony in the morning and evenings, watching the animals is so relaxing.
The room is spotless. The furniture is in good shape. The carpets are a little worn and yes, the sofa mattress is thin, but that’s where the kids sleep and they don’t mind. I admit we may have just gotten lucky with this room.
The CMs are awesome. The Kidani pool is perfect for our family. Looking forward to checking out the rest of the activities and community hall.

Our kids being picky eaters is one of the reasons we were attracted to the villas where we can make something of nutritional value at least once a day!My only anxiety is one of our group is a picky eater. It will be interesting to see how they do.
