Other then the heat and humidity, I know when the "un-official" summer has arrived here in S. Florida....FLEAS and SKEETERS!!
Since it's so humid & hot, DS10 doesn't play for long periods of time outside, so to make sure he gets some fresh air, we sit outside on the weekends and play a board game. As we were on our carport this past Sunday, the skeeters were everywhere, and yes, this was in the daytime. Had to pull out the spray for him. They don't seem to like my "aged" body.
And now fleas. During the winter and early spring months we can control them without any "aids" (Frontline/Advantage), with baths, diet, sprays etc. We only worry about the dogs mainly, they bring them in. I usually can go until end of May until starting them on flea treatments, but this morning I had 2 fleas jump on me!! YUCK!! So today, they got an extra bath and treatments.
I don't normally treat the indoor cats, because once I treat the dogs, the cats seem to have no problems after a week. I hate the buggers!!
Now I also have to be more watchful of the ferrets, but I do give them flea treatments, because of their size, fleas can hurt them quickly.
Anyone already having these issues?

Silly fascination I know. It reminds me of both summer and of earlier times.
