stuck on a ride?

Expedition Everest - maybe 10-15mins and then we had to walk down the interior of the mountain (no photos were allowed) - looks like an oilrig/industrial building with a drop-zone area etc. 17 flights down to the ground from where we were!!

My husband got stuck on EE going up the incline. He was up there for about 20 minutes before they came to escort him down.

I have been on RR with the house lights on....kinda ruins it.

Been stuck on Spaceship Earth and Haunted Mansion for a few minutes.

Absolutely.
Scariest.
Place.
To get stuck! :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Seriously, I can't even fathom that. And tonight this thread inspired me to watch a bunch of funny You Tube videos of people's reactions on coasters AND kids' funny reactions to coasters as well. So I guess the truly scariest place to get stuck would be on Cedar Point's Top Thrill Dragster. But walking down EE would be very scary!

I have been stuck in Spaceship Earth at Epcot shortly after it opened for about an hour. We were going down backwards and I took a much needed nap and was quite comfy but terrified. (I was 7) I didn't thing that the ball was supported well enough and was going to roll off at any moment.... I loved EPCOT but kept an eye at all times on that ball. My Aunt said I fell asleep as a coping mechanism. The next summer, in the HM also going down backwards down the staircase and you got it, another nap... I think we stayed on HM for about 2 hours that ride because once it started it went a few feet and stopped again for 10-15 minutes.

Last year, it was our year to get stuck on rides. Grant it, we were there for 11 days, but I never experienced this many technical difficulties as I did on this trip here is my list:

1. Space Mountain about 10 minutes. Cool to see it with the lights on though.

2. Splash Mountain about 10 minutes.

3. Norway ride, about 15 minutes.

4. Mission Space, 5 minutes, but the longest 5 minutes of my life. They had us strapped in the coffin and the claustraphobia started to set in. I swear, if the ride didn't start when it did, I would have had a full blown meltdown.

We have been stuck on quite a few rides. The most terrifying was Rock n Rollercoaster (dec. '07). The ride started fine and then kept slowing during turns and thru the corkscrew. We had just come out of the loops when it slowed to a crawl and just stopped. It was very claustrophobic being in the dark & locked into the seats. It lasted for about 10 minutes. Didn't go back on for the rest of the trip.

This one is fun and scary!
Last December we were on a Hidden Mickey hunt with Steve Barrett (author of HM) and were checking out the hidden mickeys on Pirates when all of a sudden the announcement comes on that they are experiencing technical problems and to stay seated. My DS freaked out as we slowed and stopped. Turns out, as he told me, he caused it to stop. Yeah right, I answered. He said he quietly said something, and after he did, the announcement came on. Still not believing what he was saying, I asked him what he said. He wouldn't tell me for over 5 min. finally he said, "well I said, "George isn't real" and just as he told me what he said, the ride lights all came on! No kidding. The entire room was lit with the bright after hour lights. We sat there stunned as he told me the backstory about George the ghost who supposedly haunts Pirates in a fun way by stopping the ride if you say you don't believe in him or that he isn't real! We were stuck on that ride for over 40 minutes. It wasn't until we got off and told some people about what happened that we learned more about the story and that DS should have apoligized to George, and that would have started the ride up quicker. I wouldn't have believed so much if I didn't experience it with him! Ooooooo

We got stuck on Test Track for 20 minutes in the heat room. Luckily, the heat lamps were turned off while we were sitting there! It was the very first ride of our trip, too. But the CMs let us go again without having to get out of the car so that made up for it.

We were stuck in the icy cold room and they DIDN'T turn the blowers off. What made it worse was the fact that when we got on the ride, I had to pee and had told my husband as soon as we got off I was going straight to the bathroom. Well, needless to say, being stuck for 25 minutes in an icy cold room didn't help much.

When we finally got to going again, we still had to do all the jerky bumpy fast motions. Immediately after we got off, I, literally, ran to the bathroom leaving my husband and son behind.:rotfl:

Oops, I forgot to mention too that we have been stuck on Universe of Energy, Buzz Lightyear, Snow White and Haunted Mansion. On the Universe of Energy, the walked us out of the building and gave us the option of walking right back on to the next presentation. On the others, we were moving again in about 15 minutes.

Stuck on Splash Mountain in Sept for about 30 minutes. It was right as we were going up the incline to go down the big splash. Luckily, there was light so we weren't in the dark. We did get pretty tired of hearing "Brer Rabbit, I'm goin' to Skin ya'" or boil ya, etc. They finally turned the sounds off!!!

We got stuck on Rockin rolercoaster in Sept for about 20 minutes or so. We got stuck at the very end after the ride was already over. We were stopped in the "alley" waiting to pull into the unloading dock. My mom and little brother were in the gift shop waiting for us and were wondering what ws going on. This actually worked out well for us because while we were on the ride there was a short massive downpour outside. By the time we got off the rain had almost tapered off. One of the CMs told us as we were getting off that someone new had acidentally pushed a wrong button.

I got stuck on It's a Small World for about 20 minutes in 2006. And, no, the music did not turn off. I'm pretty sure that was Karma kicking me in the *** for some earlier misbehavior.

Also, in October it must have started storming as we got on Test Track. We were very surprised to get hit in the face by pouring rain when the cars go to the outside track..but then they closed the ride due to bad weather as our car was just outside the door. It took just a few minutes for the passengers in front of us to get out of their vehicles and for the CM's to move us up. We were still laughing like crazy people.

Hey look, the three of us have the same avatar!

Thought of another one....Snow White. We got stuck right where the dwarves are rolling the ball on the witch, but it looks like the ball will come down on you!

Although it was last year and I was 18, I still thought those dwarves were going to do us in!

Last trip:
- Splash for an hour right before disembarking.
- Pooh kept stopping through the whole ride.
- Dinosaur stopped for several minutes near the very end of the ride. All the lights went out, but the sounds were still going full force. Scared me to death!

ive always wanted to get stuck on space mountain to be able to see it with the lights on! :)

I was stuck in the queue line when the ride stopped and they turned the lights on. It was pretty cool to see it that way but I was happy when the lights went back down so I could ride!! One of my all time nostalgic faves!:thumbsup2

Yeah, the lights weren't extremely bright (more like emergency lights in a store, etc.) but you could see the maze of track and the giant pole that goes right up the center between the Alpha and Omega tracks. All I had was my camera phone but I took some pics but erased them a long time ago. Sorry.

We got stuck on Buzz for about 20 minutes. I ended with a great score! :thumbsup2

I was stuck on POTC once for about 45min to 1 hour. It, as Pooh would say, was a real bother. But Disney made up for it. They hand wrote out FP for any ride you wanted! But the worst I ever witnessed was on ToT. I was still in line and the line didn't move for about 30 min. We boarded the ride finally with a group who were already on the ride when it shut down. They got stuck in the pitch dark in the drop room the whole time. I would NOT have enjoyed that especially since I'm kinda a chicken on ToT anyway!
